I mean it's not working because it didn't yield information and obviously, I cannot take the strain. :)

 

As for unvoting, I don't know, really. If you think you can find a better target, sure, go ahead. But the time is ticking. So maybe there isn't enough time left anyway.

 

Now I'm a pure, vanilla townie. If someone is able to find a better target than me to lynch, speak up. If not, just cast those remaining two votes and be done with it.

 

As for Red, that might be a little scummy but she was my mentor. She either might be guessing I'm town and just don't wanna vote me in yet.

Also, there are 12 players. It's not like it's impossible to lynch someone with an absentee.

 

Verbal, I don't think this is the place for that hat. Calling my bluff? I didn't do anything against the rules. I know what I'm doing AND I've consulted the game mod too. You're free to do just that yourself.

We can chat after the game, but considering your words and the mechanics, you were suggesting what amounts to an emo meltdown and reveal of the innocent. If you look at it from my POV, that would have ruined the game. Maybe you had a plan, and cool.....but without that information, I was acting as moderator of DM mafia games. Well who do you find scummy? Sounds to me like you're trying to distance youself if he ends up being scum. I haven't heard many other people offer up any ideas on who to lynch.

CS why are you trying to bring up convo concerning the innocent? not to mention the question you ask is wierd in itself. i know this is your 2nd game and all, but why as town would we want to lynch the innocent? why would the thought even cross your mind?

 

 

i played another game like this, it was an Avatar game where Aang had the same type of win condition attached to his head. another player was trying to discuss on the game thread how we should treat Aang as far as voting for him and keeping him hidden from the scum as much as possible. basically what we could act like on thread concerning him to make sure he stayed un noticed.

 

 

as i said in that game, any discussion concerning Aang was no good, my stance remains the same concerning the innocent in this game.

 

 

for that comment, as well as the role fishing comment; i'm willing to switch my vote to you and keep a sharp eye on Kath.

 

In that case, I think the purpose of talking about the Avatar was to saturate the game thread with it and hope the mafia spent too much time sifting through it all and not enough time spent on just winning the old fashioned way.

 

but it could easily backfire as well. as it will help highlight players actions and allow for an easier time for the scum to analyze how people react to different players. in that game, had people started voting those who pressured the Avatar then it woudl be obvious; or if people ignored those who pressured the Avatar its just as noticable. plus it makes it all the more likely that the Avatar would have revealed themselves within the discussion becuase if he/she made a point about how people shoudl act concerning the Avatar on thread and people just went "yeah they're right" then that woudl also highlight them.

 

it's too easy to get trapped in your own WIFOM with that, which is why i was against it then, and am against it now.

 

 

 

Red, why do you say that you are willing to switch your vote to CS, but don't actually do it? Are you waiting for more people to vote before you do? Looking a bit scummy, especially if you have no guarantee that you can come on tomorrow/today (whichever it is for you). I'm not trying to distract people away from voting CS, indeed I'm going to VOTE CSARMI because of the question about roles. You can find the info on the Welcome to DM Mafia thread what roles might be included in an Advanced Mafia Game, and so shouldn't have to ask. I think he may have been rooting around for someone to accidently hint at their role, and use that for a NK.

Actually I thought it was a pretty good question, he mucks about joking votes song, continues to muck about then when told he has the second vote on song he doesn't do anything except say it is a joke. then I found his questions..'when does the game actually start' a bit odd, since he had happily voted someone. He said he was joking and she asked him why. He then doesn't bother voting, but in fact disappears off the thread. Can't take the heat there it seems.

 

And then Red and Verb can only come up with Alanna's vote as scummy for Day 1. That in it's self is odd. She was busy, and had to bow out of the game, so that should tell you why she didn't give anyone else!

 

As for the CS stuff...let the Mod deal with that, I thought she had it well in hand and didn't need any interventions!

I actually agree with Verbal here about Alanna's comment - her trademark is caution, so it's odd to see her make a comment like that. That said, I really find it tricky to go after someone because of something their predecessor said - that came up in one of the last games I was in and it got really confusing. Anyhow, it looks like Talya's hit the ground running and has started pressuring people already - I'm willing to see where she goes with that.

Well I slipped there.

 

I can see where your comming from, it was unclear for me when the game actually started, initially I thought that the voting was just for fun untill everyone had signed in hence starting the real game.

 

Song voted on me so I voted back. As soon as everyone had signed I would have removed the vote but people in this thread where rather suspicious of that one post that I couldn't help but scowl at that point. Later in another game on DM I noticed that voting twice on the same person without anything to back it is just not done. I was and still partly am ignorant of the DM mafia etiquette.

 

On my dissapearance, I was and still am rather bussy for the moment, I like to take my time to post, I do however check this thread from time to time but I don't always have the luxury to sit down, read x pages back and post a reply.

Tal makes some good points about Mav disappearing once he unvotes and people are pressuring him. out of the interaction, i still find Kath's pressure for removing his vote the more scummy out of the two; and you notice, she does the same thing; dropping off once someone FOS's her over it.

I'm not gonna quote you Red, cause you posted such a long piece and I don't like really long posts unless they are cases or explanations, and I don't like chopping quotes. I will address my being quiet though.

 

Firstly, I had a surprisingly busy weekend as I went out of province with my dad and kids. When I got home I had some real life things to do. Yes I have been on DM a lot, but it is the end of March and the Start of April. I had to find things for several Reports, and set up some boards we were starting and find old info to put in them. I had to clean up/finish up several end of month things and setup/start up several new month things. I had a dump load of Pms to reply to, about staffing and concerns and other things. And I had some old Rps to reply to. As well as taking care of my kids and husband, who is on days off and I try to spend more time with him than on the computer.

 

You can say that other people in this game had things like this to do too, but when you add up all the extras I had the past few days it did take a few days for me, and it really hasn't been that long since I posted. I was active day one, posted in the night phase and now its day two. Its only been 2 real days since my last post in this game. It is on the page before this one, and no it wasn't of much game content, as it was posted during the night phase and I don't talk about the game much during the night phase.

 

 

Secondly, its day two, and we didn't really get much to go off of with the NK, day two has been even more slow than Day one, but it looks like it's picking up. I am not the only person who dropped off and I haven't really been all that inactive given that the game is in day two, I was active in day one and posted in the night, and until last night/today this game has been dead. I know the only way to bring it back is to post, and as soon as I am done my last report (which I was working on before I left it to type this) I was hoping I could jump back in the game.

 

Also, I'm kinda in a foul mood as my cousin in law was found dead in a homeless shelter yesterday and no one is telling us what happened. I found out through facebook to boot. So we've been dealing with that and trying to get things arranged for his wake tomorrow and funeral probably on Friday. I have been really upset about it and didn't want to post when I was upset cause I know that always comes across poorly, but here I am posting anyway.

 

So I apologize for being slow to get into day two, I've got a lot going on, but it should be cleared up today more and I can focus back here.
