oh and Unvote Aust

I had no real reason to vote for Aust, just day one play and now that there's some serious biz. going on, it would be harmful to the town to keep voting frivolously.

Okay, now that I'm finished with my flat renovation (well, rather say semi-finished - there's the cleanup still) and I got a little less work to do, I switch to serious mode :)

First, I will Unvote WOMBAT. That vote was never meant to be serious (in all the rush I didn't even realize mine was the 3rd vote starting a possible bandwagon, sorry about that Song/Wombat), and now we should be consolidating.

I'll vote once I have a good read on any of the subjects. That will be this afternoon, once I had the time to do a serious re-read.

Sorry about my inactivity so far: by inactivity I mean the lack of any thought put into the game, I've been posing some, sure, but that's not the same thing.

I'll try to be more active :)

you know, the bolded & underlined part just doesn't set well with me. until now, the only "discussion" you've involved yourself in was to discuss plays from a previous game. so why the need to do a "serious" re-read already? putting too much effort in trying to distract the town, and now that people have caught on or ignored it for the most part, have to go back to the drawing baord with Phelix to try and find another way to distract us from finding scum??

I need to do a serious re-read, because frankly, I haven't paid any attention to the game so far.

As there'll be voting to do, I might as well start playing instead of spamming.

You told me I should do this analitically, and while I'm sure I can't do this half as well as when you were mentoring me, I'd better start. I'm quite lazy on my own, you know.

In other words, +1 this. (just with a different name)

You agree with me, but you think it's suspicious that I brought it up - I don't follow the logic in that at all. When you voted for me, I had only made one short post mentioning this- hardly taking the lead - so I don't buy your initial reason for voting for me and now this inconsistency with agreeing with me at the same time- it really looks like you're trying to maneuver around his issue and there have been a couple slips now.

I don't like Krak's random vote and then disappearing - but right now you're standing out the most to me.

vote Phelix

Point of fact, Aust, you made your original post mentioning it, and then when Meesh brought it up you defended it explaining your desire to put pressure on the scum and attacking her for targeting you.

I actually don't like Aust's point; it seems set up to cast suspicion on whoever the first person is to vote for serious reasons, which doesn't seem like a Light-loving move to me. Black Ajah getting all ready to point fingers? Just might be.

Speaking of serious voting, I might as well head it off. I don't have anything to add to the banter except that Bieber is a girl, so since I have nothing to do today but play mafia, let's get down to business.

unvote

vote Aust

Well Meesh - I threw that comment out there because undoubtedly the mafia are feeling very uncomfortable with this stipulation that all scum be on the lynch in order to get their NK. I wanted to see who reacted strongly to that. Interesting that rather than discuss things you jump right into a vote. We have no deadline today - we have some time to take a look at things.

So, the way I read it, you bring up the idea initially with the expressed intent of manipulating people, and then when called on it, you tried to cast suspicion on that person.

Whether or not you buy it, the way you brought up the issue made me suspicious, so I voted for you.

No I doubt that you voted Aust for being suspicious, I rather believe that you thought him an excelent target for a first day lynch and where hoping for a bandwagon lynch.

Doubt away, doesn't change the facts. *shrug* What he did looked suspicious to me. If you want to lynch me, go ahead. I'm the closest person to lynching at the moment. If you do, all you'll see if that I am the character I said I was, and I am an innocent. Though, you will be able to see who among the 10 who vote for me might be scum if there is a night kill.

You confuse me with your actions, from there the doubt comes. You "shrug" everything off like you don't care about the ammount of lynch votes you have against you but still you try to point out that it'll be our fault if we lynch you and that we will regret it. From usual experience this would be a bluff, but as I said I don't know you or really anyone here, so I am reluctant to cast out my vote, especially on the first day.

I think for not having a deadline, this lynch is building up way too fast. Like I said before, Phelix hasn't really done all that much that was suspicious. And everyone saying he attacked Aust is reaching, because I saw attacking. 'It's Day 1' excuses don't really work here either people. We don't as of yet have a deadline, and so why don't we actually focus, instead of acting like it is a normal Day 1?

I'm going to Unvote Krak

Right now more than anyone, Blackhoof is pinging me.

then we are all on the same page. *thumbs up*

i tend to use hyperbole a lot, to make my sentences seem more dramatic and what-not. im a melodramatic dude. so that is why if i said "you made a bit deal" you probably made a "bit of a deal".

i am glad that you have accepted your role as sacrificial lamb and plan to go quietly (it suks lynching poor townies/scums for no reason while they are all like "wtf! what did i do! dont lynch me, plz!". kind of fun, though. if you have an important role, speak up now.

i almost hope that you arent the sacrificial lamb, phelix. you are so nice. :)

we could always lynch Aust, or csarmi, instead  or krak.... he voted for me

It was this post that really did it for me. For one the complete lack of care whether or not a townie is lynched, with saying he is glad someone is taking a sacrificial role, for two outright rolefishing, for three, he still is just randomly throwing out people to vote for, with no reasons. He is not at all trying to help the town, and is coming off very scummy to me.

I don't mean to confuse you, Mav, and I can understand why my actions would create doubt. If I weren't me, I'd suspect me too.

I don't want to be lynched, so yes I am going to point out flaws in peoples' arguments for lynching me. I've never said you will regret lynching me because no matter what, someone has to be lynched, and if you do lynch me you'll still likely get information out of it. The mafia will likely try to be in on the lynch, and if there is a nightkill following my lynching, you will have a basis to go on.

I am a townie, but someone's gotta go. Imagine if I were ranting and raving, lashing out at everyone who voted for me. That wouldn't do any good. So, right now, I'm taking each vote with a bit of zen. If I get lynched, sure, I'll be out of the game, but my side will gain information.

Collective good is a good thing.

BLACKHOOF

out of everyone right now, imo he's been scummiest. next on my list is Aust.

i dunno abotu Phelix, i'm on the fence with him right now. he woudl give alot of info, so for that alone i'm willing to change my vote to him.

Well I thank you for your clarification but nevertheless someone has to go today as you say... But I like to be fair and I don't feel like you deserve a vote from my side just for confusing me, yet. But you do have to admit, by saying "I am a townie, I am a townie", that does make you stand out...

And ranting is no good  .

Okay just finished a complete reread this morning, and top two on my list (and everyone's, it looks like) are Phelix and Blackhoof.

Blackhoof I'm suspicious of for exactly the reasons Red stated - it looks like he's trying to lie low since then, which might be a good idea because it's impossible to gauge a non-reaction to a serious vote. But some more votes might make him speak up. Blackhoof was scum in the other game I've played with him (which many of you were/are in) and acted just like this, and while that pings me, I have to say it doesn't mean anything because, well, maybe that's just Blackhoof.

For Phelix, yes the 3 thing caught me off guard, and here's why: in a game this complicated, first of all it's a bad idea to assume anything. But then to not only make the assumption, but to treat it like an inevitability, really catches the eye. Phelix's explanation for the three thing is sound, and if I had sat and thought about it I would have come to the same explanation, probably, but the fact that it didn't come with the original assumption until someone pointed it out is really scummy to me. Add to that his fevered defense of himself (he's trying to look disinterested, unworried, but he's posting constantly, wearing out that refresh button), and I have a strong feeling we've bagged our first scum.

Unvote

Vote Phelix

I had trouble deciding between the two, and I know I said putting pressure on Blackhoof might get him to talk, but I would feel a little dishonest voting for someone when I'm so sure someone else is scum. But of course I'm willing to change my vote!

I did my reread and all I could infer was how big of a noob I still am (how complex this game is).

18 people talking, voting, arguing and all that, man this is so confusing for me. I mean, I can't even tell who has votes and how many. Not like it matters too much as I don't have a read on anyone yet.

From what I've red, it's Read, Phelix, Blackhoof and Aust who's being voted on?

I think I understand the point against Phelix (number three) and Aust (pointing out Maffia will be voting). Even on Red it makes sense (very complicated, but interesting though there is not much to go on).

But I can't really follow what's up with Blackhoof. I'd like to hear more on that, especially from Blackhoof himself. I really like his avatar too so more posts would be great :)

I'll place a vote in the morning. We're in no hurry though. I didn't manage to figure out what's going on (with teams, strange rules and such it's even more confusing), but what I'm reading satisfies me. With so much talk going on it should be easy to sort out who's who in a few days.

So let's just keep on talking.

Good night all,

Csarmi

Meesh (2) - Leelou, Thorum

Red (2) - Player, Wombat

Phelix (6) - Berf, Song, Blackhoof, Tynaal, Aust, Drew

With 18 alive, it takes 10 to lynch.

I've been trying to do a quick catch up. For me the people sticking out the most are blackhoof and Phelix. Since there is no deadline yet, I honestly cannot vote until I have a chance to go through everything again. I do want to unvote Meesh for right now.

I'm not sure why assumptions are a bad thing. Everyone makes them. Your post is full of them, in fact. The mistake I made was sharing my assumptions out loud in the public thread.

I've said that I'm not disinterested, only calm... and that I was going to point out the flaws in every vote for me. You also assume that posting constantly is abnormal for me, when it's not. I am a frequent and heavy poster especially on days when I work the night shift and am alone with a computer and not much else to do for eight hours. In the game that just finished up I was the person with the second highest post count behind Csarmi.

You are wrong about me being scum, but as Red said it will give you information to lynch me. As I said way back to Aust, the best way to leverage the lynch rule is to see who gets in on the lynch and then see if there is a night kill.

Lynching me does provide you that information, and someone has to be lynched... so, really, that's the only argument that makes sense in support of lynching me. I don't like it, but it does make sense.

vote Phelix

For controlled lynch. I think we need to lynch someone to get the ball rolling here and start doing some analysis on the scum

Well boo. There isn't much to logic against that. *puts on his fleece to play the sacrificial lamb*

While I am here, I'd also like to point something out: Song and Berfs.

Both voted for me for rather thin reasons, and of the people who have voted for me they're the only ones who haven't responded to my critiques of their reasoning. Song hasn't even posted in this thread since her vote, about 23 hours ago. Berfs replied once after his vote to poke Alanna to update the vote count, and has been silent since then... about 18-19 hours.

Now, for those of you who are convinced I'm scum, this doesn't mean much. But, if/when you lynch me and find out that I'm a townie like I said, please do remember this. Suspicious is suspicious, no?

lol I gave the same reasons everyone else is giving before they gave it. I wouldn't call that thin. I saw no reason to respond to your post, it would be redundant. I think you are the best lynch for day 1. It would give us the most information at this point, plus I believe you to be scum. I love how you're trying to set up the next lynches already dear

blackie' date=' i'm starting to think you're just one of those players i find scummy. but this entire post reaks of scum!! especially the bolded part!

you're glad if he is town that he's accepted being sacrificed then you follow it up with role fishing when he's got, what, like not even half of the needed votes on him for a lynch. *shakes head*

well, the way i see it, town outnumber scum 4/1, so w3e can AFFORD to lose at least 3 town for every 1 scum. its not that i LIKE that a townie is probably gonna get lynched today, (there is a 3/4 chance since we usually lynch without real evidence) but we can AFFOrd the loss, in a war of attrition, the scum lose. i am merely saying that if phelix is town and dies, it is not a big deal. it is only a big deal if he is a good role, hence my question. besides, if he revealed his role and his lynch swelled suddenly, we know who to look at for scum....

same as my response to red. i am in no place to help the town (im a noob), so i will push a lynch on a good sacrificial lamb for now, until i have deduced or seen enough evidence to vote for a likely scum.

I'm still waiting for Blackhoof to tell me when I "voted for him" and why he accused me of it. So until then' date=' Vote Blackhoof

ohh.... hehe, i just looked back, intent on proving you wrong, and it turns out that it was berfs, not you, who joke-voted me right at the start of the thread :-[

sorry about that... hehe :)
