Your in luck leelou. I haven't sent anything in yet. But I will before I sleep tonight. My main reason that you are on my list is the same reason drew was on my list. Team analysis. Drew was the only one I could concretlly figure out. That is why you are more of a suspicion than anything else.

Sorry for the He. I suck at that.

I do have 2 people at least that are ok with me killing you.

I really havent gotten a chance to analyze today been busy with work as it is our year end. I get to pop in and out

So I don't have an opinion on Lee, well one that is relevant to this game anyway

No one pings me except you lol

Posted

Yeah, no-one is really pinging me, but we likely only have a single BA left, so shooting at likely targets and whittling down suspect lists will, statistically, give us a victory.

Leelou is a good choice at this moment, i suppose.

Oh, enough suspense for you?

Sorry everyone, I was a bit unwell the past couple of days, and I really wanted to, er, do this scene justice :D Results of night coming up!

It was the dead of night. Camelyn was quiet and still, like the surrounding countryside. That is, until a thin line of light sliced through the air, rotating open into a Gateway. A women stepped out. Hooded, swathed in a dark cloak; nothing could be seen of her in the blackness.

She entered Camelyn like a shadow, stealthy and silent. She was already armed with the One Power, but masking her use so that her victim wouldn't feel her coming. It wasn't long before she reached the dark house where her victim lived, hopefully sleeping and completely unprepared for her attack.

She hadn't exactly been sanctioned to commit these murders, but one of the Forsaken had been implicit in her instructions to her about her fellow agents in Tar Valon. And those plans would all come to nought if other Sisters continued to kill those working for her in the Tower.

And besides, she was Head of the Black Ajah Council. If anyone could take something like this upon herself, it was she, Alviarin.

She'd already dealt with Sheriam, one of those who had killed Talene. Talene had never been a very useful member of the Black, but after Katerine had allowed herself to be caught and executed, Alviarin could not afford to lose anymore. So now she found herself here, in Camelyn, prepared to deal with the second...annoyance.

Unfortunately, she was taken by surprise upon entering the house. A single light was lit, and her 'victim' was waiting for her - likely also holding the One Power, though Alvarin could sense nothing from her. Evidently, Falion Bhoda had found someone to teach her how to mask her weaves as well.

"I knew you would be coming," Falion said. "After Liandrin - though I have to thank you for taking her out. I was pleasantly surprised to hear of her deaths. She always was too arrogant, and not nearly clever enough."

"If you heard about her," Alviarin said calmly, silently working out how to get the upper hand, "then you clearly have an extensive network. You must have heard about Sheriam, too."

"Of course." Falion sneered. "That's how I knew you'd be coming for me. No matter how foolish your actions. I was surprised to see Sheriam there, but we found we were working towards the same goal. On orders from one of the Forsaken - Moghedian."

"And I am working on orders from one of the Forsaken as well," Alviarin said coolly. "So either you are lying, or sadly mistaken. You-"

Falion struck while she was still speaking. Alviarin caught a glimpse of something orange and red unleasing itself from Falion's hands, while she frantically wove balefire. Even as the rod of white light left her hands, she felt the heat searing towards her. The fireball that Falion has thrown at her hit, and Alviarin fell to the ground, screaming and writhing as she burned.

She never saw her balefire hit Falion and consume her. Unfortunately for Alviarin, she had never been very practiced with balefire, and her weave was not strong enough to erase Falion's attack. So even as Falion disappeared into death, Alviarin continued to shriek and burn, until she, too, was dead.

(Leelou) Falion Bhoda, Black Ajah, has been nightkilled.

(BG) Alviarin, Black Ajah, has been nightkilled.

All of the Black Sisters are dead. THE TOWN HAS WON THE GAME!

Game setup, recap, and explanation coming up!

Posted

Last one to go though... not bad. Funny that we weren't really trying to kill other BA... it just kinda happened.

Posted

Lol yes please explain since there were 9 BA to start which was equal to the town members which was a lose condition to begin with unless i misunderstand:

INNOCENTS: Win when all the mafia are dead.

MAFIA: Win when they outnumber or equal the remaining players

Posted

I'll get to all that, but to answer your question quickly - the mafia teams couldn't win together. Each mafia team had to be the only remaining team alive. Whereas the town, obviously, could win together, regardless of teams.

I knew there was something up with you BG!

And I would have gotten away with it too if wasn't for those meddling kids... and leelou killing me.

First of all, I'd like to thank DPR, who helped me come up with this setup.

Setup: 3 teams of mafia, 3 teams of innocents. All teams had 3 members. Normally, by simple numbers, an 18-player game is balanced with 1/4 of the team as anti-town - which would come out to roughly 4, maybe 5 anti-town players in the game. To be honest, the numbers are not really something DPR and I discussed, and I didn't think much of them until players in the game startest guessing at the number of mafia. However, I still feel the game was balanced for the following reasons:

(A) The mafia had one major disadvantage: they could only get their nk if every member of their team was on the lynch. Not only that, but the town was aware of this disadvantage.

(B) This is my own conjecture, and it'd be nice to hear what a more experienced mod thinks of this, but it's always seemed to me that any game with multiple killing factors is a bit of a disadvantage to those anti-town players. Of course, it's a disadvantage to the town, as well, but I know when I've been part of an unusually small mafia team (because there is either another mafia team, or an SK, or a Cult), it seems extremely difficult to win.

© The town was entirely composed of mason teams. This may not seem like much, but it's actually pretty huge. People sometimes tend to write mason teams off as vanilla townies, but this is a huge mistake. When it comes to balance, I have learned, and been told, to treat mason teams as an informative role (such as a finder or variant thereof). If you're not convinced, ask me and I can tell you about a few experiences I've had, which made me realize how powerful mason teams can be.

Early on (before they got permanent nks), some of the mafia also professed concern that the lynch condition (and the town knowing of it) was too big a disadvantage to them. A balance to this is that the Town had no finder or now healer. Without a finder, all information came from analyzing the lynches, and without a healer, every nk (even if it was riskily gained) would go through.

In fact, there were no roles whatsoever, save one: Elayne, who was the Ultimate Lynchee. Any team who had all members on Elayne's lynch would receive a permanent nk. Elayne (Berf) could not reveal until L-1.

Recap of the game (lynches and nightkills) coming up next:

Posted

So an intresting thing happened in this game - the Black Ajah completely killed each other off. Only one townies died as the result of a NK - Wombat (Yukiri, one of the White Tower hunters). Some teams wanted to kill off other Black Ajah members on purpose, whereas others did it by pure chance.

Before I get to the recap, a quick note on the teams, and how they relate to the storyline: Most of the storyline was entirely for flavor. It was fun to see what you guys took out of it, and you had some good ideas. But I put almost no information in the death scenes - most of the little details you all noticed was just being trying to figure out why the Black Ajah would be killing each other! (For example, the Forsaken - there were no Forsaken in the game, but warring Forsaken directing various factions was one of the few reasons I could think of for the Black Akilling each other all over the place.)

There was some information in the opening game storyline, in which I described different Black Ajah teams. However, as there were only 3 teams, some of those were false leads. For instance, no Black Ajah with Rand were in the game, and I fudged a couple of the teams together - the Black Ajah in Camelyn, and Liandrin's Black Ajah (because Falion Bhoda was first with Liandrin in WOT, and then later ended up in Camelyn, plotting against Elayne).

So, ultimately, the 3 mafia teams were: a Black Ajah heart in the White Tower, one in Camelyn (which included Liandrin), and one in Egwene's rebel camp. And for each team, there was a corresponding town mason team - Pevara, Yukiri, and Saerin hunting the Blacks in the Tower, Myrelle, Carlinya, and Anaiya in the rebel camp, and Elayne, Vandene, and Merilille in the Camelyn.

The players were on the following teams:

White Tower (Town): Wombat, Phelix, Meesh

White Tower (Mafia): Csarmi, Talmanes, Tynaal BG

Rebels (Town): Thorum AJ, Aust Krak 2.0, Blackhoof

Rebels (Mafia): Krak 1.0, Mav, Red

Camelyn (Town): Berf, Player, Curt

Camelyn (Mafia): Song MrL, Leelou, Drew

Recap:

Day 1: Phelix (Saerin, a Tower hunter) was lynched.

The White Tower mafia team received a nk, as they were all on the lynch.

Night 1: Mav (Moria, a rebel Black Ajah) was killed.

Day 2: Berf (Elayne, a Camelyn townie, and the Ultimate Lynchee) was lynched. Berf never revealed.

Two mafia teams were on the lynch - the WT team, and the Camelyn team. Both received permamnent nks for the rest of the game.

Night 2: The Camelyn team killed Wombat (Yukiri, a Tower hunter). The WT team chose not to use their nk.

NOTE: After this night, I told you all that the mafia could earn a permanent nk. I really should have told you this was a possibility at the outset, but it slipped my mind. I kind of thought it wouldn't matter, since I figured Berf would reveal, so even if he was lynched, everyone would know what would happen as a result of his lynch. However, he said nothing, and I realized you needed to know it was at least a possibility. But I didn't tell you it had already happened.

Day 3: No was lynched. Alanna was not happy.

Night 3: The WT team killed MrL (Liandrin, Black Ajah in Camelyn). The Camelyn team killed Red (Delana, a rebel Black Ajah).

Day 4: Csarmi (Katerine, a WT mafia) was lynched.

The rebel team (only comprised of Krak now) received a nk.

Night 4: Krak (the rebel mafia) killed Talmanes (WT mafia). The Camelyn team also killed Talmanes. The WT team killed Krak.

The entire rebel mafia team was now dead. Of the WT team, only BG remained.

Day 5: Drew (Careane, Camelyn mafia) was lynched.

Leelou alone remained of the Camelyn mafia

Night 5: Leelou (Falion) killed BG (Alvarin, WT mafia). BG also killed Leelou.

It's really late, and I have to go to bed, so if I've missed anything, let me know. Any questions? Complaints? Criticism? What did you think of the setup?

Posted

I was debating about letting you live bg and drive a lynch on you during the day, but then you decided on thread to nk me so I struck back. :)

Posted

Well, I think it was a fun setup.

Seriously though, what are the chances that EVERY single NK (-1) happened to be BA. That is just bad luck overall. I think we could have managed a lot better as mafia if that hadn't have happened.

Posted

Night 4: Krak (the rebel mafia) killed Talmanes (WT mafia). The Camelyn team also killed Talmanes. The WT team killed Krak.

The entire rebel mafia team was now dead. Of the WT team, only BG remained.
