Hello there,

I've been following DM's Twitter for a long while now, and I've read WoT for 2 times (but books 1-6 for 5 times, and books 7-12 for something in between 2 and 4 times). First 6 books I've read in my native language, but then I got frustrated by the pace they got published and bought the newer books in english. Actually the only books I've read more often than WoT is the Lord of the Rings, which I've read some 7 or 8 times (I read it first time when I was 8 years old)..

Welcome to DM Kill! So what is your native language? I know a friend in Serbia has said they have only just released Winter's Heart translated there.

So what was it that made you finally sign up at DM?

Welcome to DM Kill, I always admire peoploe that can read books like this that is not in their native language. Like Ama says, where are you from?

Glad to see there is someone else who has read Lord of the Rings as many times as I have. have you read any more fantasy books?

I'm from Finland, so that makes finnish my native language :) And maybe the most annoying thing here is that WoT books are translated so that each volume in english is two or three finnish volumes.. so at the moment there are like 25 or so finnish WoT books.

And most of the fictional books I read are fantasy, thuogh I read pretty much non-fiction stuff also. I've read most of the Dragonlance books, pretty many of Salvatore's books, all of Edding's books (for several times), few of Sanderson's books, Memory, Sorrow and Thorn (although "trilogy" in english, 12 books in finnish) for a few times and the list goes on and on, I can't really remember all :D So as you might have guessed, I really like reading..

And to question what made me sign up at DM: well I noticed the Mafia game in Shayol Ghul section and then I took a better look overall in this forum and found out that this seems quite an interesting place and a good way to practice my english writing skills :)

25 Finnish Books. No wonder you wanted to read them in English. And we complain about 13 so far, lol.

You like Mafia Games...We have an Organised Games board on here that runs a few Mafia Games. It can be found HERE by all means pop along, there are a couple going at the moment but soon there will be more, the board is just beginning to go through a bit of transformation. Have you played Mafia before?

They used to be called Werewolf games on here, it's how I started out...some can get quite complicated. It will be to see you in some games. Have a look round that board and ask any questions. Good to see you joining in the Social groups as well...

I really liked the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, but on the other hand, sometimes I was annoyed as it was pretty clishé. But I really like how the characters evolve and the descriptions of what is happening inside their heads, especially the confusion and "angst" of the young male main character. So in short, they are not the best books I've read, but far from the worst too. So maybe I'd say, that if I'd have lots of books I need to read, I wouldn't rush reading the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, but read some others first, but in the end it doesn't really matter, for the time spent reading them is no way wasted (or so I feel).

I read the first book and then got half way through the second, and due to RL circumstances I didn't get any further, I have them there waiting for me to read and I really must get and read them again soon, that was a few years ago...

Don't let Corki steal you all to himself, there are some other good Social Groups out there...*cough*Black Tower*cough*
