Everybody likes to talk about food... Especially bacon.

 

And that is something that gets me when a vegetarian tries to turn me to the 'Dark Side'... I just retort with "If God wanted Man to be vegetarians, why did he make pigs out of bacon".

A traditional Ulster Fry consists of bacon rashers, eggs, sausages (either pork or beef), vegetable roll, the farl form of soda bread (the farl is split in half crossways to expose the inner bread and then fried with the exposed side down), boxty or potato bread[8] and wheaten farl.

Other common components that may be added include mushrooms, white or black pudding, fried tomato, pancake and/or beans. All this is traditionally fried; however, in recent decades, people have taken to grilling the ingredients instead.

 

though i dont take bacon or black/white puddings cause i dont like them

When over there the only difference I've noticed is the soda bread or potato bread... And to be honest I wasn't too fussed in either. Although I have been reliably informed that it's much better home cooked as opposed to hotels/B&B's.

 

Oh, actually there was one place that I thought was rather good for breakfast - The Smugglers Inn right on the Giants Causeway.

yeah but the potato bread is the best part especaily fried, havent been to that inn but home made is always much nicer, even nicer if u make the potato bread from scratch as well

Believe me... In Northern Ireland there is a type of bread for every occasion

 

Sometimes I felt like that in Spain! Well...everyone in Europe really. And its made fresh daily and bought daily and *sigh* oh how I miss espana y como quiero regresar....obviamente porque estoy ahora hablando en espanol :biggrin:

I am sad at the lack of good breads in the U.S. It's more of a standard in other places, but here you get some mediocre imitation.

Hmmm, hadn't thought about it. I have changed recently from white bread to wheat. Potato bread kicks bootay. As for other breads, I am not too explorative with flatbreads and such.

Wheat bread is awesome! I love it! I'm not sure if I've ever had potato bread....I did have lots of different types in Spain but I don't remember literally half of what I ate!
