A couple of questions...

Just re reading the whole series...

Questions 1: why are there no really old Aes Sedai any more? Although they are old, none of them seem to be as old as those mentioned in book four.

Question 2: The power that broke the Sharom (the world?? the breaking??)...said to be a new source of the one power where men and women use the same source....perhaps the true power (think that's what it's called)....and the Sharom, a great sphere...what was it's purpose, and will rand and nynaeve restore that by using the keys (thus restoring what has been lost)....Im interested in hearing your thoughts on this :)

The Oath Rod is the reason that Aes Sedai do not live as long as they did in the AoL, or those AS in Rhudiean (sp?). This was proven by the ages of the Kin, because they never swore on the Oath Rod, the never got the ageless face and aged normally. The oldest Kin member was said to be over 600. Alivia, the former damane, claims to be over 400.

Yes, the energy source that Biedomon and Mierin were trying to tap into was the True Power. They were drilling the Bore into the DO's prison.

As to how Rand will seal the Bore with Nynaeve and possibly some others (remember that LTT's original plan called for a circle of 7 women and 6 men), for me it's a RAFO. There are a lot of theories about it, and I have not really found one that I like best.

Spoilers from ahead of where you are in your reread below!

The Three Oaths reduce an Aes Sedai's lifespan. The Oath Rod was, in the Age of Legends, used to bind the worst criminals to oaths of good/obediance. While it creates a forever youthful appearance in the ageless look, Aes Sedai live far shorter lives than channelers should. Without the oats they'd appear to age normally (no ageless look), though at a far slower pace than normal people.

The Dark One/True Power isthat new, unifying source of power that was discovered in the Age of Legends, they just didn't fully understand what it was until the Bore was made in the Pattern.

I believe the Sharom was just a progressive research institution, that sphere just a symbol or used in research.

Oh, and the Access Keys and Choedan Kal were destroyed, the female one during/after the Cleansing of Saidin and the male one by Rand at the end of The Gathering Storm.

hmmmm okay, thanks for that. I really enjoy rereading the whole series, it all runs together so much better, and you pick up stuff you havent thought of or noticed before...it's about my fourth reread :) Moraine must be Rand's Aunty? Tigraine must be his mother...so is he a decendent of Laman?

Moiraine isn't related to Rand. His mother was Tigraine, but his father was Janduin; Taringail's child with Tigraine was Galad, and Taringail's children with Morgase were Elayne and Gawyn. Moiraine is Taringail's half-sister, so she's Galad, Elayne, and Gawyn's aunt, but not Rand's. While Mantear and Damodred probably have distant connections, as do Mantear and Trakand, Moiraine and Elayne are not closely related to Rand.

No, Rand's mom Tigraine is Andoran and is only related to Cairhien House Damodred (Moiraine and Laman) through marriage. Rand's dad is Aiel so he has no connection to the Cairhien side. He is half-brother to Galad though.
