(1) Will we have a better idea of who Demandred is and what he's been doing by the end of ToM?

I would be very disappointed, if he turned out to be Taim after all.. Well obviously not the original Taim, but him being the Taim we have been seeing since the Lord of Chaos.

Terez27 BAH. That is all. Good chapter, tho. And I have the sticker! :D

This seems to pretty clearly say Asmo's killer is revealed [the sticker she refers to is the I Killed Asmo Sticker handed out at JordanCon and DragonCon] and the reveal is not surprising. Graendal proof, imo. Though she did state she wasn't going to talk about Asmo, and this seems very bluntly about Asmo, so maybe she's doing a dodge. Or maybe she thought it was subtle enough to escape notice, if so she doesn't know the WoT community. :D

Did Terez get a sticker during the Great Hunt?

Could it be that she was talking about one of the bumper stickers that revealed a chapter title?

Could she be saying - I have a bumper sticker for this one chapter, and was hoping for something really cool, but it was just ok.

Am I the only one that doesn't want this series to end?

I'm not looking forward to reading how my theories I've been so blindly trumpeting will die painfully.

I know that with most of my theories I'm the only one carrying the banner.

I know that once I'm done reading this book I'll go into hiding. Too ashamed to show myself in this forum or any other.

What will I do if the Dark One doesn't want to die by Rand's hand?

What will I do if Egwene doesn't bond Galad?

If Fain doesn't become the new Dark One.

If Graendal is Asmo's killer?

If Nyaneve never pulls Rand out of T'A'R after his death?

If Rand doesn't turn Moridin to the light?

I feel like a mother hen sitting atop a pile of rocks. I know one of them will hatch. I know it....[softly sobbing]

She guessed a sticker correctly based on some hints. I don't think she had one physically though. I just remember Terez guessing one of the first few codes.

Well, I think we've had plenty of clues that "Taim" is very odd for a 3rd Ager, he uses far too many 2nd Age expressions (so-called Aiel, etc) and he knows how to test for the Talent? Who knows that in the 3rd Age? Many thought Demandred at first, but since that has been officially de-bunked, Moridin is the only other answer. I don't think any other male forsaken make much sense. Be'lal, Rahvin, and Sammael are all dead. Ballthamel and Aginor seem flatly impossible. Demandred has been denied. Asmodean would be a rich joke somehow, but seems impossible also. Only Taim is left.

How long have you been reading? I started in 1995 and gotdaamn I am ready for some closure. :-)

Eh, just enjoy the stories. We'll have one more go around after this. BTW, those theories are all decent.

Terez, would you be OK with providing the following spoiler-ish info?

(1) Will we have a better idea of who Demandred is and what he's been doing by the end of ToM?

(2) How far does the timeline progress beyond Veins of Gold in ToM? Weeks? Months?

Thanks!

1) RAFO

2) About a month. ;)

"we get to see Perrin through completely different eyes in this book". This makes me hope we get lots of POV-s about Perrin from people other than Perrin. I love those things. Seeing what other people think about the wonderboys/supergirls always cracks me up. Or makes me angry. Either way makes for great reading. Are my hopes justified?

That's not really what I meant, but we do get to see Perrin through other POVs, like Faile and Galad. What I meant is that our expectations of what Perrin's role in the series will be are seriously challenged, fairly early in the book.

Someone mailed a sticker to me. It had nothing to do with my expectations for this particular chapter - just something that happened in the chapter that had to do with my expectations.

Yup. I didn't get the sticker personally but someone mailed it to me.

Hey Terez when you say ToM is Perrin's book, what did you mean? In terms of sheer pages dedicated to him or plot threads related to him or the emotional weight of what he accomplishes? On the flipside of it, does Mat have any important appearances/plot threads in the book unrelated to the Finns-Moiraine/Elayna-Caemlyn-Dragons?

All of the above.

If I want to find Asmodean's killer without ruining any other ongoing plotlines, do you advise against jumping straight to the glossary and then digging around? And while I'm at it, if I dig around the glossary first, will I be spoiled more than one plotline? And lastly, is there some foreshadowing or actual telling of what Mat will have to do in aMoL in this book?

Another question while I have you as a captive audience. Rand has done a lot for the Pattern. Presumably, Perrin will do a lot for the Pattern pre-Last Battle to help the Light in his ta'veren role based on your earlier comments. Would you say that in terms of what the major pre-Last Battle thing Mat does for the Pattern and as a ta'veren, he accomplishes it in this book or it is reserved for the next book and is included in the foreshadowing.

As well, does Demandred make as many appearances as say GRaendal or Moridin, and please don't RAFO, as a Dem fan, will I like this book solely for the Dem parts?

Yes. If you haven't figured it out by the end, then read the glossary.

Well, it's lucky I don't mind spoilers then, because the first thing I'm doing when I get the book is flipping to the glossary and finding out. I don't care if I could have figured it out myself or not, it's just that this question has been bothering me far more than it's rational for someone to be bothered by it and I want to know. Once I get the answer, it'll be easy enough for me to recognize the clue in the book which would have enabled me to figure it out and then tell everyone I figured it out from that clue.

Is it under the "Asmodean" entry or the entry of the person who killed him?
