I apologize for the delay in scene here.  I didn't expect the family I have in town to drag me off for dinner right when I was supposed to be dedicatedly watching this game.  :) 

 

A large television screen in Kitchen Staduim flickered on, the Chairman's image filling the picture.  He shook his head dejectedly.  "I am very disappointed in all of you," he said.  "A full day has gone and no decisions made?  Perhaps being locked in Kitchen Stadium overnight will fuel your fires!"  The challengers let out a groan as the screen went black, then one by one they followed Alton and Kevin's lead and started rummaging through the pantry.  The Iron Chefs exchanged sly looks and then followed like lions stalking their prey.

 

A lack of majority has resulted in no lynch.  It is now night.  Please PM your night actions to me.  Night will end Wednesday, August 4 at 8pm PST (GMT -7) or when all actions have been received.

Since Arizona doesn't have DST I can never remember if we are the same time as pacific or mountain. Is deadline in 20 mins?

The night passed quietly, perhaps because all of the chefs were stewing over the fact that the Chairman had lured them to Kitchen Stadium with the promise of a rematch, and then locked them up, effectively kidnapping the lot of them until he decided people had been schooled enough.  It was ridiculous.  What did he want from them anyway?  The least he could have done was provide beds or at least blankets if he was going to make this a lock-in.

 

Stiff necks and sore backs were on the menu when the sun rose.  Amid the grumblings a jolly voice was missing.  You began to look around for Chef Douglas and were horror-struck to find him dead, his curly hair tied in ribbons, gashes on his face and throat, and a bloody, broken ouzo bottle lying at his feet.

 

In desperation you searched for the person most likely to have answers in the absence of the Chairman.  He was hard to find, but eventually someone thought to check the freezer.  You found Alton propped up on a side of beef, his mouth bearing a wide strip of duct tape, with multiple stab wounds to the chest.  He too was dead.

 

JenLenaMom, Challenger Tom Douglas (innocent), has been killed.

Pete, Alton Brown (innocent healer), has been killed.

 

It is now Day 2.  Day 2 will end Sunday, August 8 at 10pm PST (GMT -7) (or as close as I can manage to that time).  With 10 alive it takes 6 to lynch.

 

I say as close as I can manage to the deadline time due to the fact that I have a LOA starting the 7th and running through the 14th.  I mentioned it in the OP, however I unexpectedly will have internet access while gone, but only in the mornings/evenings at the hotel.  That's why I added an extra 2 hours to day 2 -- to try and put the deadline at a time I think I'll be back at the hotel.  I'll do my best to stick to my deadlines, but please bear with me if I'm an hour or two later than I expect.

Also noting Barm's post in the OG forum recommending that games be paused on 8/10 due to DM8's impending arrival...

 

I'm willing to go with the majority on whether we continue the game or pause it on 8/10.  My guess is that it will most likely end before the opening of DM8 if we continue it, but if it doesn't it could make for a rocky endgame with all posts between 8/10 and the opening gone. Thoughts?  Should we pause or just keep going on the 10th?

If we do keep playing, I'd suggest copy/pasting posts into a Word doc as a backup.  That way if we lose posts, they can be recovered.  Of course, it would be a lot of work to organize them on top of modding the game, but it's a thought.

I am taking my moms advice and am keeping records. On such record is a log of posts (copied into notepad and trimmed of personal information filler). If the game continues I can post my script on the new one.

Actually, I changed my mind.  Barm's post here says that DM 8.0 won't be out until Labor Day.  In that case, we should have plenty of time to finish the game.  So I'm changing my vote to continue playing here.

there's most probably a vigilante role, or some similar role.  perhaps a serial killer?  either way, it's getting dangerous to be in this game...  :o

I've never finished a game here. My experience is in live play werewolf. Two nightkills caught me off guard.

 

I do know some roles, I wasn't expecting more that cop and doc in a normal game like this.

 

Vig or serial killer? That does sound dangerous :/

 

And please don't call me Ellie. Elly was already close enough to being confused with Ellianora, so I took it out of my sig. Ellie is just too close. Eldrick or Eld works fine.

Gah, I'm just all out of sorts today, but I have nothing right now. I mean, I don't know who the heck to vote for, but I am still here and trying to use my mind, maybe I'll find someone to vote for tomorrow, so start talking people to I can get nit-picky on your words!

I'll be gone till Sunday night due to a camping trip/family reunion. I have no idea who to vote for. I think we can get this done before the move to DM8 and I vote to continue.

Even at my most obsessive, I was only ever in three at once. 

 

I'm also either really lucky or people don't consider me a major threat, because I don't think f I've ever been lynched or night killed before Day 3.  Maybe not even before Day 4.  *knocks on wood*

 

This is the best I got from day 1. I don't know if there's anything there.

Yeah, I don't have anything, but I'm working on it. Maybe I'll actually do the reread I've been promising myself, and on multiple games, I might add.. .

We don't have much to go on Day 1.  No bandwagons really formed, and most of the votes were thrown around randomly.

 

That means we have two options. 

 

1) We can sit on our hands and wait for a Finder investigation.  The mafia would love for us to do this, because with a possible two evil kills per night AND no Healer AND no voting activity, we'd be sitting ducks.

 

2) We can vote now, before it's too late.  True, there's not much to go on.  But it's better than the alternative, because we generate voting patterns and activity.  I'm not suggesting we lynch someone randomly, but the more voting and talking that goes on, the more likely the mafia are to slip up.

 

With that in mind, I'm looking at the people who have posted but said "I don't know who to vote for."  The last thing that we need is mass active lurking.  I'm most inclined to vote [glow=red,2,300]Alanna Jr.[/glow]  The others either said they were busy or are posting suspicions.  Alanna, on the other hand, is giving me a minor "helpful scum" vibe from her post prodding others to be active without actually being active herself.

Oh shiitake, have I been lurking? I feel like I've posted a bit, but oh well, maybe I AM being a hypocrite. I did the nine page reread (oh wow! *sarcasm* I really haven't had a lot of time..) and [glow=red,2,300]Eldrick[/glow] is my final answer. Oh wait, we're not playing millionaire? Hmm! His last post has me a little iffy, still.

I'm not saying I want to lynch him. I'm just looking for non-random reasons to start a lynch. His post about not ever being considered a major threat sounded like he was trying to push the attention away from him.

 

I could be way off. I have no experience in forum-based scum hunting. For now I will hold my vote and see where the day leads.
