Okay, I know.  By my count (only counting using the most recent vote count, you understand, as I'm lazy), Lily has 5 votes and David 4. 

(Unless someone who's just unvoted to vote for Lily was originally voting for David.  I can't recall, and am too lazy to check. :D  I wish the Mod would post names of the voters and non-voters.. *hinthintnudgenudge* :P :-* )

 

Anyway, my reasons for voting the way I'm voting:

A) Lily's slightly closer to being lynched

B) Eebs voted for Lily.  On Day 1, that's as good a reason as any for me to vote for her. ;D

Since time is running short, and the deadline is in the daytime for most of us, I'm going to go ahead and reveal now. I've seen too many day one lynches not to know where this will end up. I'm vanilla townie for now, but I'm backup something. I won't know until/unless the person dies and then I become whatever it is I'm backup for.

i see, i think i get it. to clarify for some even though you all already probably understand: basically if there was a healer and we accidentaly lynch him then we lose someone with a good ability for the townies, however if someone was a backup for the healer then she will inherit the ability and the healer ability will stay in the game.

 

thinking about the ability karma stump, it would make sense if you get what i mean, and that way lily can actually have that ability and so is telling the truth and should stay in the game by proving she is a vanilla townie. so yeah

 

but you still didn't say anything that would stop us from lynching you apart from stating you were a vanilla townie, however it is still a weak support for yourself, and it doesn't really say you are not mafia.

 

but thats only my opinion, others will probably think differently, and that sounds slightly like karma in a sense so you probably aren't mafia :) but i'll still vote against you just in case ;D

Drat.  Drat drat drat.  That's one of those role claims we can't really verify short of lynching you.  This is annoying.  Promise this has nothing to do with you in particular, Lily, but I don't really want to believe you at the moment (mostly because it involves having to change my vote and also it's making me think and I don't feel like doing that right now :P).

 

I mean, it could go either way, really.  Either you're telling the truth and we managed to flush out a backup right from the beginning, unfortunately (and I mean, it's not a role you'd expect mafia to claim, necessarily, so it does have that ring of innocence); or else you picked a role that would be easy to claim because you really can't prove anything, so no one will ask you to, and you're lying...

 

Bah, humbug.  I wish I could've waited till at least Day 2 before I had to start really thinking. :P

 

Well, since it really really could be either way, might as well give you the benefit of the doubt for now, since if we lose some important role later, it would be nice to have a backup.

Honestly, I'd rather we lynch me than the actual healer or actual finder. Better to keep them, since they're hidden and I'm not. So, I'm kind of on the fence about what you all should do.

 

I will say this, though. My last fake role claim was in Pete's Vegas game, and it was much better than this would be, if it were fake. I'm almost insulted that anyone would think I would come up with something this lame, if it were a lie.  :D

Well, I don't really know, either... I mean, on one hand, unless David role-claims something important, it would seem better to lynch him than you, because at least we'd have your ability around if we ever happened to need it.  On the other hand, you'd be a good, safe target for a night kill if we didn't lynch you and you're telling the truth.

 

Well, with my vote, I think you and David are tied.... (**edit new** Indeed, you are)

 

Heh, I don't know.  Lame role-claims work as well as extravagant ones. :P :D  Also, I dunno what good you revealing has done us, honestly.  The only reason you'd reveal something like that is to try and keep yourself from being lynched, at least at the moment, so if you're on the fence, it's not about whether or not we should lynch you today, it's about future actions. :D

I've seen important roles go down without saying anything. I don't think I'm all that important, especially now that I'm out, but it's really for the group to decide. I also think you're right about my being nightkilled. If I were mafia, I'd take out someone who MIGHT be a back-up cop in a heartbeat. Either way, I probably won't be here tomorrow. You guys do what you think is best. I won't be mad if you lynch me.

No I didn't mention anything about stumps. Anyway, here's my theory. Karma  is a lot to do with rebirths, so a back up is like being reborn in a sense. Also if this theory is correct then all the vanilla townies would have the karma stump. This means that any important role like a finder or doctor will be kept in the game for a long time. Obviously this means that the mafia will have an ability to counteract this karma stump otherwise the townies have too much advantage. Just a theory btw. :D

Sorry, David, but that theory smacks of TMI for me... understanding karma is one thing, but that's a lot of dots to connect between the concept of a Karma Stump and Lily's reveal and the mafia having a counteraction.

MCS mentioned that he is introducing a karma stump role in this game. That's where the whole karma thing is coming from. We do need a controlled lynch and I would rather not lynch Lily after she revealed her backup role. She might very well be NKed tonight, but if we lynch her, we give the mafia 2 innocents for the cycle.

 

From what David just posted about all vanilla being backups, I believe that is what he is. My vote stays where it is. I don't want to give the mafia 2 innocents on Day 1 if I can avoid it.

 

EDIT: TMI? I'm not familiar with that acronym. Anyway, I think David just revealed as vanilla with a backup as well. Does that have anything to do with the stump? I have no idea, but it does seem to fit the theme of the game.

TMI = too much information. 

 

Basically I'm saying I think he has more info than he should.  It was the statement about the mafia being able to counteract the stump with the "just a theory" tacked on the end that pinged my radar.  There has to be balance of course, but his wording and the fact that he conjectured about roles without saying anything direct about his own when he's the next highest vote getter, just kind of hinting around that he might have the same role as Lily... that's why he got my vote.

Hmm...I've never been told that I was a backup for anything until the original role died.  I didn't know that was what you were supposed to be. 

 

I agree with Meesh...that's impossible to prove unless the original dies or Lily does.  I'm on the fence as far as believing you Lily dear  :-*

I am also introducing a new role into this game called the Karma Stump. I think it will have an interesting impact on the game.

Nae, i think you should try to remember that it was MCS that said it at the beginning of the game.

 

I'll explain in detail: Karma Stump, an ability which MCS invnted and introduced to the game to make it "interesting", we don't know what the ability is and so the best thing we can go along is with what lily's ability is since it is knew and we never heard about it before so it fits the bill of a new ability, it is also is the best guess. Furter reasons being the name karma; i'm sure everyone knows something about karma, (if not go read a book :P ) its all about exchange: if you do something good then good comes back to you; if you do something bad then bad comes back to you(i would like to quote j.timberlake: "what goes around comes back around") it also has a tight link with the afterlife as what David was saying, basically if you do a lot of good in this life then in the next life when you are born different you get things that are good because of your previous life.

 

Which gave birth to what i said: basically, if lily is a "back up" to a healer or finder etc then it is the same as good things coming back, and with what David said, it would make evenmore sense in the fact the the healer/finder/etc can be "reborn" as someone else, and because he/she was 'good' then he/she is given another chance in life....make sense now nae and everyone?

 

anyway, i also think that the "stump" bit of the name doesn't really mean much, but then i could be wrong: in the book it is where Tom always comes when he goes into the alternate role..so it might have some significance

Lol thanks Koujin.. I knew I saw it somewhere... I wouldn't rely TOO heavily on the entire name.  I think the karma part is the main focus as far as that role.  I've no reason to doubt Lily therefore I'm not gonna put my vote on her.  I still think Amadine was off with how she came in on the bandwagon and am far more comfortable leaving my vote on her.
