thorum, scantily clad street walker.

wombat, none was listed, so it was already stolen or did not exist.

dpr, we would probably case anyway, though i doubt there are hints this early. and i rather like to think one person did this instead of multiple. i don't see time stamps, but i know the count was placed pretty close to the death scene.

Game on.

One more thing - if a player who dies has a relic (lynched, NK or otherwise), the first person to PM me a request for the relics after I post the death scene will get it.  If they have multiple relics, the relics will be distributed 1 per person to anyone who PMs me within 5 hrs of the first PM, in the order they PM me, until the relics run out (if they have 2 relics, and nobody PMs me within 5hrs of the first request, the first requester will get both.  If 2 people PM me within 5 hrs of the first request, only the first of the 2 PMers will get a relic).

I agree, but let's not close our options off - it could have been a relic as well that had nothing to do with voting per say. I'm going ot suggest that we keep a file for facts and a file for speculation - we've won games doing this before and it helps us keep everything straight. You down with that?

Yeah, went back and read this. Questions occur though. If a player made a successful attempt at a theft but died in the same day/night session, does the original holder of the relic keep it or does the first PMer get it?

Also, if a player makes a successful theft, but has not yet been handed the relic due to not having ended the day/night period, can another player steal it without the first player ever having it officially in his/her possession? Or does the person have to have actual possession for someone to steal it?

Sorry DPR, don't know how I missed that. I have no problem with that. Like I said, those are my current opinions which can be very wrong.

Also, I'm kind of thinking the relics do something else, but rules say we aren't supposed to do anything other than speculate about who may or may not have them. Prompting a clarification: What kind of speculation is allowed? Rule 2 clearly says players are not allowed to say anything about what they get if they win a relic, but if they can speculate on what they do... there are ways to make it seem like one does not have a clue, when one might have a good idea. So, where is that line?

Excellent questions.  Although the triggers for the thefts happen the previous day, the thefts actually occur immediately after sunrise, and in the order that the triggers happened on thread.  So:

1) If the player you successfully targeted dies, you get nothing; his relic goes to the first PMer after the death;

2) If you had no relics, successfully stole from someone else, and someone who targeted you was successful in getting you to post after them and after you succeeded in your own theft attempt, the relic will pass through you to the person who targeted you.  If they were successful before you were, then they get nothing, and you keep what you stole.

Clear?

Also, if nobody claims a dead player's relics within 24 hours of the death scene, I have a complicated system governing who gets it - so complicated I can't explain it to you.  But rest easy knowing it exists, and involves relatively few goats (certainly fewer than giraffes, anyway).

Which leaves one last question and a note, at this time.

Note: My second topic was not answered.

Question: Does the player whom the relic passed through get the information about the relic? Are they told they had the relic, but it was snatched? Are they flying blind?

Quick example of allowed speculation - someone wondered if the day ended early was a double/hidden voter, someone else suggested it might be a role, you suggest it might be a relic, though you don't know, because you don't have (and never had) a relic that could do that.  That's OK.

Quick example of not allowed speculation.  You have (or had) a relic that causes a certain result.  You see the result happen on thread.  You say "I wonder if that was a relic". That's not OK - because even though you're phrasing it as speculation, you're really saying "people, it was a relic - I know because I used it/used to have it/whatever"

Clearer?

The player who it was passed through gets info about the relic, told they got it and lost it.

Whoops! One more. If you put in a target and that player puts you in as a target, once successful on that player, does your target expire or can the two players essentially pass it back and forth through converstation until one player has the final say? Yes, I know this seems convoluted and labor intensive, but! It is totally worth knowing how indepth these thefts can be, how careful players must be.

Going to read Kivam's post now.

I know. I've had a lot of PR's in the last six months or so, and they've stuck with me. I find them incredibly entertaining, and sometimes useful. heh

Where have you been?  We've been offtopic most of the game.  I'm suprised we made it to the first night.  It was looking to be heading the same direction as DPR's game.
