Hey Verb, it's funny that you ask...

 

And, just a quick re-cap so the we are all on the same page - I was the first one voted for on Day 1. There was no reason given other than my rep. Of course, any mafia team would have been well served to start framing me as soon as possible...Then:

 

1. Verbal was the first one to bring up the idea of "big game hunting". Wonder why he was thinking about that?

2. Nae is NK'd for no other clear reason than, it would seem, big game hunting.

3. Now Verbal zeroes in on the code in my post. He doesn't offer any game related theory - he goes straight for the hidden code. 

 

Now, I'm more thatn happy to answer his question: last night, the mod sent me that code and told me it had to be included in my first post on day 2. I, being me, asked if it mattered what color the code had to be posted in, and the mod said tyat it didn't.

 

I made the post in tan because only somebody looking for it would catch it.

 

Which brings us to my question to you Verb; why, oh why, would you have been looking for such a thing? Care to answer that?

You'll be happy to know, Wes, that I couldn't see the code on my phone even after Verbal pointed it out until I enlarged the page.

Why don't we do this: if everybody will have a look at the code and post whether or not they can see it, we may well narrow down our suspect list.

 

It was my intention to hide it so that only someone looking for it would mention it, thus trapping the person who is trying to frame me. 

 

If folks look at it and everyone agrees that they would have missed it, that will go a long way towards pointing to scum. If half of the players did spot it, then my plan didn't work out so well and I'll have blown a chance to catch my framer.

Is anyone buying DPR's BS? Come on, I may be the newest player here, but even I'veheard all about how devious and manipulative he is. I think he's just trying to bully all of with his rep in games. Looak at it this way, if there's big game hunting going on, why wasn't he one of the first to be targeted? Doesn't that say something? He's gotta be one of the biggest ones here. And what's all this with the code? Why would he be asked to put a code in his post, decide to hide it, get offended when someone sees it and then try to claim that he's using it to flush out his "framer". Goood Lord people! Excatly. DPR says he was told to put the code in his first post of day 2, but it doesn't make sense. There's no reason to put a code in. I have no idea what game he's playing, but it smells like manipulation to me.

Actually, now that I think on it, isn't the mafia the ones with the codes?  It would make sense that a PR to each mafia was to hide code in "plain sight" somehow.  Not sure if my imagination is in overdrive here, so I'll go check the OP.

Actually, for all of the glory of having a rep  :P one of the "benefits" is that you usually wind up being investigated by the Cop on night 1. This is great when you are Town, and not so great when you are mafia.

 

***But, like I said, it is good when you are Town, and for the record, I think everyone but Torrie has posted during Day 2 (and Torrie has logged on to DM today - I looked because she is on my suspect list). I think it's fair to say that I got investigated last night, especially since I invited it on Day 1, and since no one has come out to claim me mafia  - which anyone would the moment they found out - I'd say you are pretty safe from my evil rep. heh

 

And what's all this with the code?

 

I'm assuming this has somehting to do with the codes that the Mod is talking about...

Alright, this would be pretty convoluted, even by my standards - and not much of a ploy, mind you. So, here's a timeline:

 

1. I mentioned people ganging up on me for no reason during Day 1.

2. Verbal thought so to - going so far as to mention "big game hunting"

3. Nae dies - and it looks like a case of "big game hunting"

***Verbal mentions big game hunting and big game hunting happens

4. Torrie votes for me, then acuses me of trying to mislead the game by confusing people becuase I mixed her and Tigs up.

***Torrie also mentions that she has used the "confusion" technique to win as mafia before. She mentions it, and it happens...anyone seeing a trend here?

 

What are the chances that two "innocents" would happen to be talking about to very mafiesque techniques, and that those techniques would come into play?

 

And where is Torrie? When she logged on earlier, she didn't post. Any reason why?

 

I'm done - sheesh - ask me all the questions you want, btw. Our best defense is to keeo things as clear and straightforward as possible.

If the mafia has codes, why would they give them out (post them) if they didn't have to?  In short, they wouldn't.

 

But if they had to option to make an innocent player post it, that would be damning.

 

So, I posted, as I was told I had to - but tried to throw a curveball to catch the mafioso who sent it to me in the act - and you pop up like you were looking for it.

Explaining why I mentioned it is easy.  I was reading the thread, and saw a blur of something under your quote, which is a lighter color than the normal background.  That contrast allowed me to notice it, and I pointed it out.......cause it looks like a mafia PR.

 

Your explanation thus far is not enough for me to remove my vote.  Why would I give you the code to simply allow you to bait me into the open?  Short answer is I obviously wouldn't.

 

Therefore, I am currently at the conclusion that you are mafia and had this as a PR from your role.  And seeing that I was pretty decent at PR-catching in your zombie game, I'm gonna re-read with the code in mind.  ;)

And, if I may be so bold, your explanation sounds weak. I'm sorry, but it reads like an over-explanation of "I was just innocently reading, minding my own business, and I saw this blur..."

 

So, vote for me all you want. What about the other arguments that I've made against you? What about my point about the Cop not reporting finding any mafai? Do you think they looked at another player last night? It's possible, true, which is why I'm not confirmed, but you see where I'm going with this.

 

Telling everybody you are a good pr catcher is pointless. Why don't you add something to the game instead? You think I'm mafia - noted and voted. WHo else you got? Who am I working with?

 

Right now, I'm thinking you and Torrie and working together as mafia, and I haven't made up my mind on who the third is. My vote stays on you.

I did not see the code, but I am not very observant so I don't think that helps much.  Anyway, DPR might well be mafia but I find it hard to believe that Red would make it that easy for the town by having the mafia members do something so obvious after stating so in her narration.  I could be wrong it just seems like a stretch.

I only have a quick moment, but I had a lot of trouble seeing the code even when I went back and looked. I'm not sure that the mafia would come out with something so obvious as a code. I'll think on it though, and come back with more later.

DPR makes more sense, but Verbal's story sounds legit because I 4idn't even read most of your post and I saw the code at the bottom. I don't remember if I posted after or if you two had already started this line of arguing before I was able too, but I had been planning on asking. So, if Verbal hadn't asked (whether he actually jus saw it or if it was a mafia ploy), would I be being hounded?

So, you see my hesitation?

I didn't see the code until it was pointed out to me, but I really can't see any reason to put it there if he didn't want anyone to see it. It still looks like a set up to me.

If it was a PR then he had to put it in his post...I can understand his not wanting anyone to see it because of what Red said.  But just because it is a PR doesn't mean he's scum.  I don't think that him trying to see who mentioned it to find scum was a good idea because everybody looks for anything unusual to try to catch scum.

DPR is devious, manipulative and conniving. He is major danger to whatever team he is playing against. Also it comes to my mind, that he would post a post with the coded pr, if that is what it is, and blame it on a keyboard fail. That way if he was scum he could slip under the radar.

 

But then, if we were all born in the stoneage then we wouldn't be playing this game, so my argument is irrelevant, because of all the ifs.But that is just my thought process, and we should all keep our eyes open, because if this is a lot like the saw movies, then their maybe some pretty rough twists and turns.
