Way to go Canada, the opening ceremony is great. Did any of you see that 16 y/o sing the Canadian Anthem? I was blown away.

They played it again at 11am in Sweden, so you probably had the chance to see it Thorum.

 

Overall, I thought it was really good and I quite enjoyed the show. The whales looked really cool, and I was impressed with the people they chose to carry in the Olympic flag.

I would have woken up super early to see it here in Australia, but then they said that it would be on at Prime Time, and so I planned to watch that. But it turned uot to be on at 11 O'clock or soomething. how that is Prime Time I will never know.

I watched a video of the accident.  The best that can be said is that the poor fella didn't suffer.  It happened so fast I'm pretty sure he died on contact with that pole. Brutal.

I watched the ceremony it was late here but definitely worth it. I feel sorry for the Georgian luge athlete,to get to the olympics and have such a tragedy occur in the training.I heard he didint die on contact,he died later in hospital.

I also saw the video and can honestly say I never want to see another person die.  It was truly heartwrenching.  They kept showing it and I had to turn away.  I really felt that showing the video was in poor taste.

Here in Canada they showed it on the news right after the opening ceremonies, it was quite a shock to a lot of people, as it is illegal for the news to show a person dying, or even dead afterwards if not covered up. So, it was rather unexpected.

I'm sorry if it came across like I was being attacked.  I only meant to answer your question.  I just meant that my post already said I turned away.  I thought maybe you didn't read the whole post or somehow missed that part is all.
