The little things...

There are so many tiny details that foreshadow or don't seem to have meaning at the time, in the WoT.

For example one of my favorite little things is when Mat and Rand are at that inn in Four Kings and are trying to escape, and lightning struck the barred window, allowing them to leave. The first time I went through I didn't even realize that was from Rand channeling. I mean it seems so obvious now, but it didn't at the time.

What are some of your favorite little things like this from the books like this?

Early on, (Baerlon?) Rand channeled, making barrels fall into mud that splashes onto Whitecloaks. He felt feverish when he did it.

that was mat, he used his sling to take out the peg that was holding them up, Rand just taunted the whitecloaks, and felt feverish just like on Domons ship when he slides down the rigging

Almost at the very beginning of the series when Moiraine enters the inn room where Tam is. I believe she used the power to put out Thom's pipe. I never noticed until this (my 7th or so) read through, but it's the only thing that really fits his reaction.

You know I never noticed the pipe thing.

Another little thing is that Luc is actually mentioned in the prologue of TEotW, even though he doesn't appear in the books for quite some time. I never realized that until one of my read throughs.

I must have been thinking of something else. I have know idea what. That's what I get when I try to post this late I guess.

Just ignore my last post. I honestly don't know where I got that from.  :D

On my reread I've noticed things like this as well.  The one that sticks in my mind the most is Moirane's repeated claims that Egwene will one day be strong enough to be the Amyrlin Seat.

Working off of that pattern, it is also why I believe Rand will die at Shayol Ghul, but how many times have we heard about Nynaeve finding a way to raise the dead or cure death?

Well along that line of thought we still haven't seen anybody giving a message to a trolloc to send to its master. We're told in book 1 that a trolloc will obey somebody it fears. I believe Rand shuddered while thinking of what a trolloc would be afraid of. It'd fit with other parts of the story if he was the one they would be.
