I love this board.  

 

I thought I was a WOT fanatic in my own personal way, but this board has opened up avenues of thought I never dreamed of.  Really. Great. Stuff.  Makes you think about everything and I have never truly tried to figure out where RJ was going, I just enjoyed it for what it was.  But after reading the books so many times, this now feels natural to me and I can't keep my eyes away from dragonmount.

 

Additionally, I find it incredible that RJ has written so much and when you think about it, there is little to complain about in terms of detail conflicts.

Yeah its a good place is Dragonmount, some debates get INTENSE. Gotta love it. Im an aspiring writer, Ive been coming on here for about 3 years altogether now, and I can tell you this; some people on here really get you thinking. Several times Dragonmount discussions have set me of chains of thought that led me to crucial details for my own piece of work. Its definitely a good place for inspiration. Grateful also.

This place is great!  I've met countless new friends, and I've participated in discussions that have really deepened my understanding of the Wheel of Time.  I also was lucky enough to be accepted as a Storm Leader, and am very much looking forward to meeting Harriet and Brandon on the Gathering Storm release tour.  That wouldn't have been possible without Dragonmount.

 

The writing help on the Tanchico boards has been amazing as well.  We have a very talented and helpful community of writers, and I highly recommend getting involved to any aspiring writers who haven't.

 

Plus, I met Mr. Ares here.  That would have made this place worth it all by itself!

    Great place to post and great to have aspiring writers! I have heard that Brandon Sanderson himself was on this site, I think he had already written some but neat that the person finishing the books would be on this sight too. I write a little myself, I don't feel I can call myself aspiring but it is amazing how many there are. Good luck to all of them. I also agree about the discussions they have opened my eyes to alot of varied opinions all are great even if I don't always agree.

The brainstorming is what I like the most. The constant back and forth of the debates really gets you reading between the lines a hell of a lot, and the fact that there are so many lines to read between is one of the best things about the series. What would we do without Dragonmount? Would we appreciate the books as much without this site? I think not

Now, this thread is supposed to be about why people like dragonmount. Aside from how Nazi-like the mods are, what do we have?

To be fair when I said that I had crossed a line in something I said, so it was redacted.  I was upset at a poster and took it too far.  That poster was very clever in the way they baited me and didn't quite cross the line, so the mods didn't touch their post.

 

I shouldn't have blamed the mods.  I should blame myself for rising to the bait that was put in front of me.  Besides, Luckers looks good in his nazi uniform.  Right Luckers?

 

This place is great.  I'm getting help with my writing, helping others with theirs and get a chance to exchange ideas with some very intelligent people.  Someday when my epic WoT like series is published I hope to spawn a community half as cool as this one =p

I thought of another reason why I love this place, ironically, all the people involved here have a respect for the general 'theme' of the forum, and get along,if not well, with respect. That is damn rare on this internet caper. Usually there are jerks that 'taint' the otherwise clean populous, but I havn't noticed one jerk on here.

It is certainly a refreshing difference to go from reading articles on sports websites where the comments are very base and degrading where no moderating is happening.

Oh, everyone looks good in Nazi uniform. I sure did......After the war, of course. Anyway, the real difficulty was looking good in one of the Allied uniforms of the period.
