BSG Mafia - Day 4

Ok, my vote on Jeran was just to call him out and see how he reacted. He seems innocent to me.

[glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Rose[/glow]

Because I'd rather lynch someone who at least there is a chance of them being mafia than a majority not being met and an innocent dies needlessly.

(1)- We lynch Rose who has a good chance of being mafia, from the information gained and we might could bag us

some scum. Now, it's very very very rare that we get a mafia on Day 1 (it happened not that long ago on MJ

when be lynched Moggy...but that's one in a million) and she might be innocent but at least we tried.

(2)- We don't reach a majority and the mod goes through with a random lynching. The innocents at this point in

the game heavily outnumber the mafia and if we let a random lynch happen...odds are in favor of an

    innocent going down.

I'm not in favor of option number 2. I think Rose is mafia because of how she over-reacted and I don't think that it was a slip up, as Sagey suggests. Now, whatever happens...we NEED a majority and after going over everything I think that Rose needs 3 more votes.

From what I am seeing Blig, it looks like just two more votes

Posted

Hidden voter seems to have switched.. five names, six votes..blig blog makes six and seven, respectfully..

Posted

The Mod did not miscount ;)

Well, I don't know about your math skills.. *grin* I'll give you a test later..

So is the consensus to lynch rose and see what happens?

Posted

That seems to be the case...and I forgot about this hidden voter person. We might could figure out who it is, the people voting for the others can't be the hidden voter...

Or maybe they get one noticed vote and one hidded?!?! :o

and Ire we will get revelations when the vote count rises to nine or over

Kivam, this is low-level game play, even for you.   I am not sure that MNRose is mafia, she just seems to be the most likely based on her overreactions and weak sauce defense of those reactions.  You posted an awful lot to say so little about this.

For one, she only had one overreaction and we cannot even be sure she had a teammate online to coach her.  Even then, the damage was already done and what else could she do?  Essentially, you are saying that her scummish actions were so scummish that she must not be scum, is that correct?  Interesting...

You could be scum and she could be innocent.  She could be scum and you could be innocent.  You both could be scum and you both could be innocent.  Like I tried to explain to Rosie, it's not an either or situation here....but, a wise and able mafia player once told me that you gotta go with what can get you the most information.  A split bandwagon without a definite lynch does not give us anything, regardless of the coroner report.  This same wide and able mafia player said that anyone who is trying to prevent the gaining of information is likely mafia.

I find it ironic that this player was you.

Right now, our best course is to get a definitive lynch on the most scummish looking player.  Right now, that player is Rosie.  She could be innocent, which only makes your defense of her a likely alibi when you then push for a lynch on me later on.  She could be mafia, which will make you our next likely lynch.

I guess my biggest question is....why are you so sure she's innocent?

Posted

God dammit, people.  Rose is innocent.  We're lovers.  Lynch her, and we get two innocent deaths for the price of one.  Was really trying to avoid saying this, since it will almost guarantee that the scum try to kill one of us, sooner or later, to get the same two for one special.  On the plus side, Lia gave us a slight added benefit - we can choose one of the two of us to protect each night.  So, if the scum want to take a shot at us, they have a 50% chance of killing 2 people - and a 50% chance of killing none.  Who's up for the WIFOM championship?

Finder can view me tonight (or Rose, I guess) to confirm.

If anyone hammer votes us, I'd strongly look at them the next day.

[glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow], We can't afford to lose three innocents before day two even begins. Ill be waiting to see what everyone else decides to do.

So, Kivam....you were in communication with Rose?  Enough to be able to coach her into not acting scummish? Is that the case?  Bang up job so far, Kiv.  Are you Baltar or the 6 ft blonde?  I don't doubt that the two of you may be connected, but I am not so sure about two innocent deaths.  Still, this is Day 1 and we can afford it if it yields some info for us.

Also, I'm pretty sure I know whose extra vote that belongs to.  Based on the order of voting events, I think that it belongs to Nathan Petrelli.  Doesn't mean this player is innocent or guilty, just I now know who they are.  If this person is not a cylon, we can use this ability to our advantage.

Gamers question:  Do you all consider lurking in WhoseOnline poor game play?  I will stop doing so if the consensus is that it is, but it can be a valuable guide on who is sending messages back and forth to each other.  During Day 1 of a mafia game with a sudden reveal by Kivam.....only one group would be communicating in this way, wouldn't you agree? Conspiring on who to vote for without looking scummish.

Do you guys care to explain what your private messages were about just now?

I like the idea mynd, but if a person is writing a message they need a chance to clear themselves, because their could be a chance of doing the wrong thing at the wrong time

Posted

Here is their chance.  When two people are seen reading the thread and then immediately Player A sends a message and then Player B views his messages.  Then the reverse takes place.  This usually suggests cohesion in a mafia game.  Circumstantial, I will admit that, but a betting man would put money on it.

So, I'd like to hear from both players on what they were chatting about.....

Posted

Mod Note: Anyone who is allowed to communicate off thread does so through quicktopic. In fact, I require it...so you all can read it at the end of the game ;)

The things I know! It's so much fun to be a Mod ;D

Are you joking?  You unvote and let the Finder do their job.  Pushing a vote even after a reveal, which makes sense by the way, is absurd.  We can afford 2 innocents dying on Day 1, with an innocent NK likely to follow?  3 town dead to start Day 2?  That is somehow ok with you?  You are acting very suspicious, Mynd.  I'm almost thinking you're innocent here, and doing the mafia's work for them.  Almost.

And for the record, I think it's poor play to use the Who's Online function.  I remember banning it from use in one of my games on MJ.  Especially with a site the size of DM, any of us could be PMing the multitude of people in other Orgs or whatnot.  Besides, like Liath said, that wouldn't be in this game anyway.

Why are you trying so hard for mnwhiterose or Kivam?  You started by buddying up to Kiv, and now once called on that, you've switched to attacking him.  Low-level game play?  Heh.

I hate that play.  It's not game relevant data.

Edit by Barm: Removing certain information at Lia's request.

Please don't reveal character names, oftentimes I used specific characters to craft their roles and besides while this is based on Battlestar Galactica I don't want people reading too much into character names. Thanks.

I requested that Barm take out the names and his post reacting to them. I would've included this in the rules if I thought it was going to be a problem, my apologies.

Until I hear some reasonable ogic I am going to withhold my vote.

However I will vote to avoid a random lynch.

As of now I am officially torn and confused

Posted

So, it is out in the open (sorry, I was working and commuting). I am a townie. I have nothing to hide.

As for why I voted for Mynd and not Gypsy, gut feeling more than anything. I have no hard evidence since I am not a Finder, and this is Day 1. But, I have learned to trust my gut.
