Thorum often posts numbers charts graphs and such out of his sphincter when he is mafia.  See Myndrunner's first fast mafia where Thorum made a spreadsheet with the various odds and such of who could be which kind of cop.  "You see, based on the probability of 12/3 that after DPR was killed, it dropped to 3/1 with a margerine of error about 3%....." and he was the killer the whole time.   

 

Just something to think about while we continue this one..... ::)

 

I've done it once. Probably the only game the two of us played together. And I don't even remember if I was mafia or not.

Thorum, you seem to be over-reacting to the minor mention that you could be mafia.  We all could be mafia, but only two or three of us actually are.  I was merely making the point that it is a common Mafia technique to spread out the final votes.  Based on your over-reaction, I am beginning to suspect that you were one of these votes.  There is an easy way to tell if I am right..... ;)

 

There were five players who did not vote for Catina Sedai:  Thorum, Loreina, Cosmic Panda, Danya, and Verbal.  Oh, and Catina as well....but let's focus on the living, shall we?

Here are my thoughts on these:

 

Danya typically does not vote on Day 1 and I have seen little sign of her playing any different than normal.  Her post after Night 1 is more insightful and productive than earlier, which again is typical Miss Danya playstyle.  Not ruling her out at all, but less "scummish" (like this word) than some.

 

Cosmic, as stated earlier, I have tentatively dismissed as the set-up guy for today's lynch in light of the demise of Vemy.  This is still just a theory, but it makes sense that Vemy would be the one they would choose.  Frankly, if I was Mafia, Vemy would have been the one I would pick and then lead a charge against Cosmic.  Either that or an Inactive.....which brings me to.....

 

Loreina and Thorum could have just been mired down with offline activities to switch their votes to Catina in time......or they could have kept them there on purpose.  What has raised my eyebrow is that Thorum has suddenly been quite active as of late.  At my mere suggestion that he might have been staying off Catina's lynch to spread out the Mafia's voting, we get a dissertation worthy of a Robert Jordan prologue, with enough pluses and minuses to make a calculator quiver.  It was a Fast Mafia that you and I first met up in where you did what you could to take control of the game by posting similar what ifs and what fors, leading us all along a path of destruction.  For you to forget this memorable victory of yours is quite......illogical?

 

...and then we come to MR. UNLIKELY INACTIVE.....Count Verbula!  All references to MyndJack aside, we all know that you are usually quite active in these games, yet you are incredibly silent right now.  Nothing to say?  Could be that or maybe you don't wanna reveal yourself too soon. 

 

I wanna hear from more folks before I get to voting.  I think we have all weekend to pick and scrap and finger point, but right now it looks like our most productive and informative lynch so far would be Thorum.

Again, Cosmic Panda seems like the Mafia's set up guy.  With his vote stuck on Vemy, the Mafia figured if they whack Vemy then it will look like Cosmic Panda was the bad guy.  Lia's leading statement leads me to believe that this was indeed their intention.

I was about to say that I actually agree with the logic in your post above, Mynd.  On my inactivity, I've been checking the Suras game, which has been getting a good deal of posts.  Other than that, I kept going to MJ to watch you, Mynd, spam away as my vampire recruit.  When you are in multiple games, there is always 1 that gets neglected, and I'm sorry to say it has been this one.

 

My addition to the conversation is that Liath has gone up to the #1 suspect on my list, and this time it's enough for a vote.

Lia is another option.  Right now, I'm thinking either or, but a lynch on Thorum would yield a bit more information, wouldn't you agree?  Lia simply hasn't been posting much....but she certainly made up for it in WHAT she posted.  My scummish radar went off the charts on that one.  ::)

Then comes this from Talya, whom we now know to have been the symp:

One thing that I have noticed is that Catina, although voices her opinions in both this one and the Suras one, seems to not be so logical in this one and seems more defensive.

So obviously backing up her evils, yes?  So then we see people settling down to the serious voting, all the playing being finished, and we have:

and then comes this little smoke and mirrors switcheroo, trying to cover their tracks, and who knows? maybe even rid themselves of Vemy and save the NK for someone else they fear, if it works:

Wow....um Lore, i'm not sure were to begin......maybe I'll just post some facts first.

 

It was Verbal who suggested Lia first.  I personally think that Thorum would yield more information but Lia is just as good.  Her "hands-in-the-air" post was pretty much the clincher for me.  She's all but admitted to being mafia.  Her opening statement was far too leading and her reaction confirmed it.

 

Vemy was the perfect Mafia target because of his battle with Cosmic Panda.  Killing Vemy and then Lia's subsequent "Hey, who was fighting with Vemy and Talya?" statement was supposed to lead us all to lynch Cosmic Panda.  If I was Mafia, that's exactly what I would do...maybe with a bit more panache.  (Sorry Lia.)

 

Now Mynd is suggesting we lynch Lia, who has had her vote on Hybrid.

 

Please elaborate on this?  I'm not sure what you mean "who has had her vote on Hybrid"?  Do you mean in Suras?  Lia voted on the Catina bandwagon at the end of Day 1.  *scratches head*  :-\

 

I'm a bit miffed at what you are saying with the Vemy never suggested bandwagon.  I think what Cosmic was saying there had to do with Vemy's proposal to narrow down our votes to a few people.  Don't recall bandwagon ever being mentioned there. 

 

Talya backing up her evils?  I don't see Cosmic Panda voting for Catina anywhere.  Talya's vote is first, followed by Vemy, and then me in an act of self preservation.  Then Lia, Tigs, and Hybrid. How can you back someone up if you have the first vote?

 

I'm not sure how Cosmic and Talya keeping their votes the same for the rest of Day 1 was a "smoke and mirrors" move.  I do know I flip-flopped between Vemy and Catina to save my own skin (I had 2 votes on my hide, one of them was you I believe).  Please explain more....I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you are meaning by "smoke and mirrors" there. 

 

How many mafia do you think there are?  I count five bold names according to your post.  Thorum, Me, Cosmic Panda, Hybrid, my pet iguana.....that's an awful lot of SCUM.

Liath? This was literally the first time I read his/her name. So either you're very inactive, or haven't posted a 'scummish' post (for me), or I missed it :D

 

Second: [glow=red,2,300]Mynd[/glow]. Why? His reaction to a certain player named Thorum, but then not voting him. This makes him a) inconsistent; and b) looking like he's afraid to make this vote stand out. Because he knows I'm innocent???

 

Third: I was on a training at work, where we had to do something by Friday. I was finished by Wednesday evening, so I had more time on Thirsday, and almost none on Monday through to Wednesday. See? I usually am a very active player, if I have the chance (read: internet + free time).

Am I missing something here?  I think Thorum and Lore have been sippin the Eggnog a bit early this year.  If anyone understands what either one of them are basing their theories on, please let me know.  I'll gladly defend myself....as soon as I know what to defend.  :-\

 

I take a bit of pride in having two votes with weak and ambiguous reasons for them.  It must mean that the mafia see me as a threat and therefore my theory must be pretty close to the mark. 

 

I am having second thoughts about Lia though.  There could be some merit in what Tigs said about her just being in a bad mood.  Catina posted a similar post earlier in the game and she turned out quite innocent.  Folks, you gotta have a thick skin in these games and pouting in mafia is a good way to get mod-killed let alone lynched. 

 

But then I come back to the whole bit with "Gee, gosh golly....we should go after anyone who was arguing with Vemy and Talya."  That's such a leading mafia statement that it almost deserves its own lynch.  Can we lynch a post?  I think the plan today was to point fingers at Cosmic Panda for the mafia death of Vemy.  The plan was foiled by yours truly and now I have become the new target. 

 

Oh, and there is one question that my accusers have not asked that I find very interesting.  With all their theories, the one big flaw in mine still stands untested.......*strokes mustaches*

Odd for me to say, but I am in agreement with you Danya.  Tigs could be right, it could have just been Liaths frustration being voiced.  But why would the mafia choose Vemy to die?  Are we supposed think that Cosmic Panda had Vemy killed?  Still, you have to agree that Lianth's post was very scummish....and scummish is scummish. 

 

Funny how in Lore's campaign against me she has failed to deny a very glaring flaw in my entire theory.  By not denying this, it all but confirms my suspicions.  Still, Thorum also does not deny it either.  I will wait for someone else to ask me the million dollar question. 

 

The way I see it, we have three options:  Thorum, Liathiana, and Cosmic Panda.    I am inclined to vote either of the first two, but the third seems to be who we were supposed to lynch.

Maybe Vemy was on to someone, and the mafia wanted him off before he could out one of them? Cosmic PAnda might have wanted Vemy dead, but was Vemy really that on to him? Or was Vemy just a random kill? I'm thinking it wasnt just a random kill, so looking at who Vemy was suspicious with can help us. I dont have time to do that right now cause I'm on my way out to a christmasparty (with free alcohol, zomg) but I'm gonna have the time tomorrow to go through some posts. I dont think Lithas suggestion was all that bad. ITs already what we do, and since we do it, I dont get the scummy vibes off her just for posting that suggestion. So to sum up, no, I didnt think that one post was decidedly scummy.

 

A question, what is that glaring flaw in your theory? Did you put it there on purpose, to see what she would say about it?

All right.  Loreina, on what basis of yours am I evil?  Is it my place in the Catina bandwagon?  My vote for cosmicpanda?  It just seems to come out of nowhere. 

Also, Liathiana had her vote on me as an early revenge vote for my random vote.  Neither of us were serious (I assume). 

 

Still rereading, you'll have to bear with me.  I am recovering from being sick during finals week (ugh).

I wasn't looking for 'glaring flaws'; I was looking at the voting patterns. Mynd wanted to know why I voted for him, so I told him. I then gave my reasons for considering others who might be evils. I also admitted that I might be wrong. It's all supposition on my part. I claim no psychic powers. I don't even claim expertise at this game. My Elf suit still has the "Under Penalty of Law this tag not to be removed" sticker.  ;D

As for having lots of evils, well, nobody said how many there are. I figure there are at least three, four if you counted the symp (who is now dead, yes, I know). There are only six of us left, one of whom is the Healer, who now has no finder to protect, and another who is an Assassin.  Both of those roles traditionally lie low, to increase their survivability. Ditto for one Evil Elf. We all have our suspicions about who these elves are.  I have told you mine; tell me yours.

 

Why Hybrid? Since I think Mynd is Evil Elf scum, and he seemed to be pushing for what was to me an unreasoned vote on Lia, I thought it might be because he considered her dangerous to another Evil Elf, namely Hybrid. I considered both your and her votes serious, because neither were changed until the end of the 'day'. *shrugs*  Actually, since his going after Thorum could be a ruse, I'm still open to the possibility that Thorum could be the other Evil Elf, playing a very deep game by voting for an evil and keeping his vote there.
