I am so gald Covai's not bonded right now :P

But back to the topic at hand.

Linked circles can only be controlled by one person at a time. The weaves the circle can/can't do fall first and foremost on their shoulders. Everyone else in the circles is just there to add their strength. Kinda like having people help you push start a car. It doesn't matter how many people push (or how easy it is) if someone doesn't know to turn the key.

An honor system does seem to poke it's head up around here a bit. I like the way Geirrin can't heal, although 'technically' he's able to. When you think about real life, there's really nothing holding anybody back from doing anything, it's experience and knowledge that divides up our abilities. (Please note, I'm using this as a general gist. I'm not looking to get into a self-empowerment debate here :P)

But yeah, compromise and looking at things situation by situation really do seem to come into it.

Just bouncing another idea here, along the whole "I'm good at these weaves but suck at these weaves" type thing, is the possiblities of proficiencies, rankings, alignments, schools, what ever you want to call it. Now I don't want to turn everything into some DnD game here, but it might be good to have some sort of indication what where each characters strength's lie. Angry or adhrenhiline minded people might mind offensive weaves come more naturally, but can't seem to calm their control down to do healing weaves well. Conversely, passive or scholarly people might be perfectly suited to the channeling styles or healing or wards, but their offensive weaves don't quite pack the same punch, despite similar skill and strength ratings.

Now I know most of us have worked out where our characters skills and strengths lie and most people are pretty realistic about it. I'm just thinking it might not be bad to have something down somewhere that lists that. Feel free to voice thoughts, critisisms or ideas.

Maybe something like generic points for strength or skill for weaves they are suited too? Whilst it wont technically make them stronger, maybe they manage to do the same weave, but with less of their weaker element than other people use. Kinda of like opening a door verses just turning the handle a touch and letting the weight of the door open itself. Consider it like having a knack for something.

(Does that make sense to anyone else? :P)

Hmm... Kind of like (to stay in D&D terms) specialised schools of Magic?

Healing

Shielding

Combat (direct) ('targeted weaves')

Combat (indirect) (fireballs, AoE spells)

Protection (wards and the like)

Then alow people to pick a specialism (essentially a power boost when weaving from that 'school' compared to other AS) and in return taking a penalty from the weaves from another school of their choice?
