Well, if it makes a difference, I'm a Finder as well.  I tried to view Tigara and got a response of a lot of noise and I was unable to get a viewing.  Somebody must have some sort of disruption or blocking power.

The assumption here is that nearly everyone was a finder.  If there was disruption on the viewing of Hybrid, then that would implicate him.

im sorry i havnt been very active in this game but i have been reading up.  i wonder if since we are all finders if we get accurate reads.  could be that some of us dont get the right information when we read.  also verbal says he was disrupted for some reason.  did the mafia disrupt him?

Here are YE OLD MAFIA RULES for this game:

 

Days - 24 hour intervals with deadlines given at the turn of each phase.  All lynch votes shall be glowed red with unvotes glowed before voting again.  If a majority is reached before the deadline and I am available, I shall end the phase immediately and proceed to night.  If a majority is not reached by the number specified, then a random player shall be lynched. Make sense?

 

 

A couple of you have asked me about when the majority is reached first on one player and then on another before the deadline.  Please read the quote from the rules above to color my response.  In some games, once the majority is reached, thats it, and in some games, its when the mod gets around to reading the thread.  This is why I posted this rule at the beginning of the game.  While this may suck for one of you and benefit the other, demz da rules.

 

Day 2 has ended and it is now Night 2.  I will post the results for Day 2 in just a moment.

Day 2 conclusion....

 

"WIIIITCH!!!!" shouted Danya, shaking her finger at Catina as the mob of dwarves circled her. Hybrid was giving her a very disatisfied glare as Tigara and Verbal grabbed her by her arms.  "BURRRRN THE WITCH!!!" "BURN HER TO THE STEAK!!!!" "BURN BURN BURN!!!!!"

 

"What is the meaning of all of this? What are you doing? I'm not a witch!" professed Catina, as they hoisted her up against a tree.  Verbal tied a carrot stick to her nose with string while Tigara placed a cone shaped hat on her forhead.  Hybrid pulled out a picture of a witch and then pointed his finger at Catina.  "Why do you all think I am a witch?"

 

"You look like one!" shouted Tigara. Hybrid shook his fist at Catina and held his lit torch close to her face. 

 

"And you got a wart!" shouted Danya, pointing to an obscure spot on Catina's nose. 

 

"Yeah," shouted Verbal, "and you turned me into a newt!"  Suddenly, everyone got quiet and stared at verbal with raised eyebrows.  "Um....I got better."

 

"BURN her anyway!!" shouted Danya, when suddenly, Liathiana and Sammy stepped in the way.

 

"Hold on there friends," declared Sammy, "there are ways to tell if she is a witch..."

 

"Like what?" asked Verbal, looking as puzzled as the others. 

 

"Well, let me ask you this," said Liathiana, "what do you do with witches?"

 

"BURRRRRN THEM!!!!! BURN THE WITCH!!!! BURN!!!!" shouted the lot as Hybrid held up a lit torch and pointed to it with his finger, still glaring at Catina.

 

"And what else do you burn apart from witches?" asked Sammy, receiving puzzled looks until they began to mumble responses.   "Fossil Fuels?"  "Coal?"  "Small dogs?"  "Cds?"  "Wood?"

 

"CD's!" declared Sammy, "Exactly!!!!  And what do you use CDs for?"  Again, the lot stood there mumbling with puzzled looks until one of them piped up with "play music?"  Hybrid sighed and rolled his eyes in disgust. 

 

"Correct!" exclaimed Liathiana, "so if Catina can make music like from a CD, then......" Liathiana and Sammy stood there with baited breath as Verbal, Tigara, and Danya mumbled to themselves until Danya said "um...then shes made of wood?"  Hybrid stood there tapping his foot, arms folded beneath his breasts. 

 

"And therefore..." asked Sammy, waiting for their crucial response.

 

"A WITCH!!!!!!!"  "WITCH!!!!"  "BURN THE WITCH!!!!"  "BURNNNNNN!!!!" 

 

"So, Catina," asked Danya, "can you sing us a tune?"

 

"Nope," replied Catina, " 'fraid I can't.  My voice is horse."

 

"Well," shrugged Verbal, "I guess she ain't a witch, eh?"  This sent Hybrid into a frantic rage, as he began stomping his feet and pointing to his picture of a witch. 

 

"Hang on a minute," asked Verbal, "he's tryin to say sumptin!  The mute bastard!" 

 

"Listen," said Danya as Hybrid continued to stomp on the ground rhythmically, "do you hear that? He's stompin something....."

 

"Yeah," said Tigara, "I think I know what he's doin.......HES MAKIN MUSIC, HE IS!!!"  Suddenly, shock and horror came over Hybrid's face as he knew what was next.   "WIIIIITCH!!!!! WITCH!!!! BURN THE WITCH!!"  Hybrid frantically shook his head and resisted as the lot dragged him to the steak and then, taking the torch he had lit himself, burned Hybrid to the steak.  The remaining 6 stood back waiting for the black smoke to ooze out of their mute and now charbroiled companion, but alas nothing happened. 

 

Suddenly, that haunting cackle echoed once again through the forrest.  "You've done it again, my sweeties!!! Your witch hunt has brought about the demise of one of your own!  Too bad!  Now you will feel my wrath as the Princess of Night rules once again! HAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!"

 

Hybrid, who was Dopey, the innocent dwarf, has been lynched.  It is now Night 2.

Okay, well that did not go as planned.  I thought for sure Verbals disrupted view was implication.  Unfortunately I seem to have erred there and pointed at Hybrid, when Verbals disrupted view was actually on Tigara.  :-X

We should definitely put a little better thought into this next Lynch.  Even with the time limit, I think we can manage a small discussion on the matter.

Well based on the number of players to start (8) and the number of Dwarves (7) we can assume that the person without Dwarf characteristics could be the Witch.  I missed the whole not using words thing for Hybrid.  :-[

Holy crap Samurai - I think you just figured it out!!!  You placed the last puzzle of the piece!

 

Remaining Dwarves:

 

Doc - Verbal

Sleepy - Samurai

Grumpy - Tigara

Sneezy - Danya

Happy - Liath

 

I've read EVERY post so far, and this is correct, I'm sure.  We all did this on Day 1, and have remained consistent - except one.  Each player listed has shown the characteristics of the dwarf next to their name.  I keep swapping words for each other (Doc), Samurai keeps yawning (Sleepy), Tigara keeps complaining (Grumpy), Danya keeps sniffling and sneezing (Sneezy), and Liath keeps smiling and being cheerful (Happy).

 

But Catina isn't doing anything but typing regular posts.  All of them without even a hint of a post restriction.  I know it's Night, but come daytime, we win the game.  I don't think Catina has a NK; rather, she can block somebody's viewing.  So she must have used it on me Night 1, which is why my view of Tigara got blocked.  Somebody will have the same thing happen tonight....

 

Catina is mafia.

That only leaves one variable under question though.  My Finder read on Tigara was Mafia for night 1.  That was why I thought Hybrid was protecting him.  This was before I realized that everyone(or almost everyone) was a finder. 

 

Did anyone else read Tigara last night?

Hmmm....I wonder if the mafia have a couple of disruption-type powers.  I don't know, but Catina is the only one not acting like they are under a post restriction.

 

I'm not used to putting sentences in different places within my nouns.  :-\

This doesn't preclude one of us Dwarves being evil though. I did a reading on Catina night 1 and it said she was innocent. When I was looking over the MafiaWiki it gave me some interesting things that might be relevant.

 

There are three common variations on the Cop role, typically called sanities:

 

Insane Cop: always gets incorrect results (i.e. "guilty" for pro-Town roles and "innocent" for anti-Town roles)

once the player realizes they are insane, they can generally produce effective results by reporting the opposite of what they discover

Paranoid Cop: always gets "guilty" results (rare in games with a Godfather, for obvious reasons)

once the Cop discovers their sanity, they may stop investigating, as all results are equally useless

Naïve Cop: always gets "innocent" results

this may be the most common variant sanity used, as it masks Scum even if the Cop dies early

There is also the Random Cop, which is almost never used, because the randomness of the results prevents any valuable information from being gathered, including ones' own sanity. Games rarely last long enough to determine that results are truly random. All variant sanities are uncommon in Mini Games or other situations with just one Cop in the game. When a Cop who receives normal results needs to be distinguished from these, he is called a Sane Cop.

 

When a Moderator uses these roles, the player receiving the role is usually only told their role is a Cop. Sometimes sanity is revealed upon death, but frequently not, leading to ambiguity if a Cop is killed early in the game.

 

Sometimes a cop may investigate themselves, using their result to try and determine their sanity. If they get a "guilty" result, they know they are Paranoid or Insane. If they get an "innocent" result, they know they are either Naïve or Sane. Usually Moderators do not allow this (for differing reasons depending on who is modding and what the situation in-game is) and the Cop ends up with a failed result.

Night 2 Conclusion....which is such a smashing scene with all sorts of funny dialogue and a few hints as to what is really going on here, with some supurb acting.  Oh, I really like this funny bit with the squirrel and the badger and...

 

"GET ON WITH IT!!!!!!!!"

 

..um, right, well here we go with Night 2's conclusion...as all the remaining 6 awaken to the starting revealation that....ACK!!!!  *dies*

 

The Narrorator was night killed by an enormous gorilla.  Other than that, no one else died.  It is now Day 3.

I worry about my finder role. Verb came up as witch as well, and with my role, I wouldn't be surprised if I was paranoid. It would be just my luck if it's true! Then I'd be useless! Less than useless. *mutter grumble* >:(
