The tropical sun beats down upon the leafy green canopy, on an island surrounded by the emerald ocean. All appears quiet for now, the denizens of the forest continuing with their lives seemingly untroubled. For now. For there is disquiet within the canopy and no one appears to know the cause. Lemurs are disappearing at random, from within their colonies. So the remaining numbers have banded together in the biggest trees on the island, and await a decision from the elders as to what is to be done...

 

Roles

 

Ring Tailed Lemur - The most numerous of the survivors, these distinctive lemurs are at a disadvantage in knowledge. They are Innocent and win with the Innocent team.

 

Ruffed Lemur - This lemur is given to sharp inspection and uses his larger size to good effect to follow others and observe closely. The Ruffed Lemur is the Finder. They can investigate one other lemur and will find out whether they are Mafia or Innocent. They will not receive information on roles. They win with the Innocent team.

 

Indri Lemur - This lemur is naturally protective, especially of the smaller lemurs due to maternal instinct. The Indri Lemur is the Healer. They can protect one person during the night phase from the Mafia. They win with the Innocent team.

 

Fossa - These predators are as adept at Lemurs at climbing the trees, and given to surprise vicious attacks. The Fossa are the Mafia. They can nominate one night kill per night phase. They win with the Mafia team.

 

Alright Folks, this is the latest Newbie Mafia game. Sign ups are now open. The game will officially start in one week (Sunday 21st September). So get your mates over, call in your contacts. Those experienced players also wanting a slot will be put on a separate waiting list, and dependent upon the number of newbie players, places will be allocated accordingly.

1. CatinaSedai - Mafia, Survived and won!

2. Dragon21 - Innocent, Killed, end of game

3. Hybrid - Mafia, Survived and won!

4. JLM - Innocent, lynched Day 2

5. Krugster - Healer, Killed, end of game

6. Myndrunner - Innocent, Killed, end of game

7. Naeann - Mafia, survived and won!

8. Spirit1025 - Innocent, killed Night 2

9. Tigara - Finder, killed Night 1

10. Verbal - Innocent, lynched Day 1

 

All roles were assigned randomly using Random.org. Your PM's should have arrived by now. I suggest new players have a quick look at the Mafia rules (stickied in this forum). The only roles in this game are those above already mentioned, so relatively simple.

Rules

 

1. All votes to be [glow=red,2,300]Glowed Red[/glow] to count. Its the little button with a Green G on it, when writing a post.

 

2. Don't quote my PM's at all.

 

3. Day will last 72 hours (3 RL days). Nights will last 48 hours (2 RL days). If the required majority is reached before the deadline, night will commence immediately. Likewise, if i have all night actions in before the deadline, day will commence immediately. Any actions submitted after the deadline will not be counted.

 

4. In the event of the required majority for a lynch not being reached, the player with the most votes will be killed. If there are multiple players, this will be decided randomly.

 

5. You must post at least once every 3 RL days. Sorry but inactivity kills Mafia games. If you do not post, you will be modkilled. If you are going on LOA, please notify me by PM. Warnings will be given once and only once.

 

6. You may not communicate regarding this game outside the game thread unless your role PM specifically says you can.

 

7. This is a coroner game, so when people die you will get role and alignment.

 

I hate doing that but it is necessary. But thats all the official stuff so go on and get started  :D

i guess i missed out on the peter pan mafia game.  i would like to give this one a go if you will have me.  i have played mafia at my youth group but never online before.  does this make me a newbie then? 

 

what is canopy carnival?

@ Catina - Loki dissappeared so the Peter Pan game was cancelled. This is in some ways the replacement. And its Canopy Carnival 'cause i like alliteration. I knew that English A level would come in handy somewhere  ;)

Can I play? I was in the Fiddlyn mafia game, but I think it was a bit over my head lol. I've played mafia plenty of times 'in person', but online is pretty different. I think I need to try a newbie game before going back to a complicated one.

The lemurs gathered at their ancestral heart, to hear the words of the elders concerning the disappearances. Lemurs from all species and tribes have sent representatives. However, on reaching the ancient tree where they reside, the ten representatives are greeted by a gory sight. All that remains of the oldest and wisest lemurs in the forest are their decapitated skulls.

Realizing the killers were still among them, they settled down in an attempt to out the killers and protect the rest of the forest. They know all of them may not survive but they cannot allow the killers to escape. For selfpreservation if nothing else...

 

 

Ok Role Pm's all sent out (hopefully with pics and everything ;) ) Game has started. Deadline Day 1 is 3.30pm BST, on Thursday. With 10 players alive, you require 6 votes to lynch a player.

 

Most important stuff will go up in the first post. Any qestions, my PM box is always open (or im lurking on MSN!)
