What happened to the clothes?

Just what the title says,in TGH all the boys had new clothes made for them, all but Mat and Perrin were wearing were tossed out.  Now fast forward to TDR, all 3 boys are called farm boys by people who do not know or should not know they are.  Now we know in TGH, they all take some clothes form that one village, but it was stated there was slim pickings there.  So what happend to all of these new clothes, and why do they continue to get called farmboy!!

 

They should all have realy nice outfits, but they do not!!

I think Rand was the only one that was given fancy clothes. It also takes more than clothes to disguise a persons history, the way they carry themselves, words used, hairstyles, etc.

Nope, when Rand is walking around trying to hide, he finds Perrin and Mat playing dice, Mat says he would not mind some, and Rand tells them they have closet full of them.

All the lads got new clothes, but Mat and Perrin got more simple clothes, where Rand got the überfancy kit.

 

See it as Mat and Perrin getting a clean shirt and a pair of jeans, and Rand getting a tailormade Armani suit.

if i remembered that correctly, then, by all means, perrin and mat HAD to be wearing simple clothes; they wouldn't be criticizing rand for wearing the same outfits they were

If I remember correctly the issue was more that he told them he was a Lord and that he didnt want them hanging around him any more, when he was trying to drive them away when he found out he could channel.  They did say something about his clothes before they found out that thiers had been burned too.

Mat also makes a remark about Rand's fancy clothes just before they leave or soon afterward. All three got new clothes, all of Rand's new clothes were fit for a Borderland noble. Maybe not an Armani suit but definately a hand tailored Suave Rowe suit.

We do see reference to Mat's clothes at least, he says that he's actually getting quite used to wearing them, and when he's in Ebou Dar (before Tylin makes his new 'wardrobe'), Elayne makes several references to the state of his 'crumpled silk coat' or whatever that he's either gone to bed in, or it looks like he has.

 

I think Perrin is the only one I dont really recall hearing much about his clothing, other than it's generally strained across his shoulders.
