Will Rand start TG?

Seal the Bore. He wont kill the Dark one

Agreed.  Now, given Rand's flair for the dramatic, is that Rand's goal?

The Dragon Reborn is really more than one "person" these days.  If he's going to accomplish anything, Rand and LTT have to reach an understanding.

Rand would settle for "permanently" sealing the Bore.  My guess is that LTT sees the Forsaken as unfinished business.  Before it's all done LTT would want them dead as well.  Then, there's the issue of survival.  I don't think Rand has given up on finding a way to live through it all.

So, it winds up being a three part thing:

Kill all of the Forsaken;

Permanently seal the Bore;

Live.

Best answer so far.  I would say that Rand will kill all of the Forsaken (or have them killed) if it doesn't interfere with sealing the bore.  I wouldn't be surprised, though, at the escape of at least one.  I still think, though, that this is all too easy...that there must be some monumental surprise up RJ's (and BS's, now) sleeve.  Hope so.

See what RJ has done to us?

We are now predicting WHICH heroes are going to kill WHICH FORSKEN!!! We don't possibly stop to think: What if its the other way round?

We have gotten so used to the heroes surviving in WoT that we are quite confident that they will wipe out the Forsaken.

I mentioned this on another thread.

This is just amusing.

I'm confident there will be surprises.  Both good and bad.

But, thanks to Min, Egwene, Perrin, and even Jordan himself, I can confidently predict -

Perrin will survive.  Bashere, and one of Faile or Tenobia will not.

Mat and Tuon will survive.

Aviendha will survive.

Lan and Nynaeve will survive.

Gareth Bryne and Siuan will survive as long as they stay close to each other.

Moiraine will survive at least long enough to make it to the big dance.

TG will happen before Elayne gives birth, thus she survives.

Since Aviendha isn't pregnant yet, Rand will survive, probably in a different body.

Even Logain seems destined to survive.

Egwene is the only iffy one, and her fate seems to rest with a choice that Gawyn will make.

What individual battles any of them will have - I've got no idea.

Not a mistake.

Jordan hasn't left us many mysteries.  Clues, foreshadowings, it's probably there, though usually well enough hidden that we have trouble seeing it.

His is a cause-and-effect universe.  Whatever happens can be traced back to something already known if we just look closely enough.

Educated guesses on who will deal with the Forsaken:

Aran'gar: Mat. Mat has been set up as an anti-channeler for a long time. It's also been emphasized that he can't bring himself to kill women, but unlike Rand, this hasn't played out yet. Killing a man disguised as a woman seems to be just the thing to provide a character crisis for Mat that can be resolved without a few books of development.

Demandred: Logain. It's high time one of the so-called Asha'man did something useful. My guess is that Demandred will be killed after Rand fakes his death and Demandred comes out in the open.

Moridin: Cyndane. I hope she will have a redemption and sacrifice her life to kill Moridin in order to save Rand - that would be epic.

Moghedien: Nynaeve. The vendetta has to be resolved, and Nynaeve should really live up to her abilities.

Mesaana: Egwene. She won't be killed though - my guess is that Egwene will team up with the ferrets and the Black Ajah hunters to eradicate the Black Ajah and capture Mesaana.

Cyndane: Herself. She will commit suicide by using the Power to kill Moridin and destroy her mindtrap.

Graendal: No idea. Slayer? Or perhaps Alivia will deal with her - she also has to do something with all her power.

I also think Semirhage will escape somehow, and then probably executed by the Shadow, which will play a crucial role if Cadsuane had placed, say, some sort of Finder on her, letting them know the hideout of one or more of the Forsaken or other important Darkfriends. If Taim isn't Moridin after all, I guess he will be killed by Logain, in which case Demandred may be killed by someone else. Narishma and Merise? Or perhaps other Aes Sedai - it's about time they did something useful.

That will leave Shaidar Haran to be killed by Padan Fain, Slayer to be killed by Perrin and the Dark One's prison to be sealed by Rand.
