I hate Royal Mail

I don't know whether this is my bad luck of June continuing, or Royal Mail (the UK postal service) being inept and incompetent.

Before I went home to Wales early in June, I bought something off eBay. I had expected one of my housemates to be in the house when it arrived at my house in London. That didn't happen, as I got a "Sorry, you were out" card. I picked that up when I returned to London 10 days ago. I re-arranged delivery on the website, and specified it to be Monday 23rd June, as I would be in the house. Nothing appeared on that Monday. I arranged that day as I would be out early in the morning for the rest of the week as I travelled up to Rickmansworth for work experience.

So, on the Tuesday, I get another "Sorry, you were out" card. On the Thursday, I re-arranged delivery on the website again for Saturday 28th June, as I would be in again. Guess what? No parcel came, and the postman came this morning at 8:30am, when I was still tucked up in bed.

Now, I have re-arranged delivery again, this time for Wednesday 2nd July. But that probably means Thursday 3rd June.

To be honest, Royal Mail are not on my list of favourite people at the moment. What is the point of asking for what day I WANT something delivered, and then totally ignore it??

I totally know how you're feeling. They did the same thing to me a couple of months ago and I got so fed up with it that I just went down to the post office and made them give it to me there. :P

I'm glad June is nearly over, I think we've both had a bad month.

There has been a big hoohah recently about how some postmen just push the "sorry you were out card" through the letterbox without ringing the bell or knocking the door first. It's happened to my parents. My mum was waiting in the dining room, and she could see the front door from where she sat and the card was popped through with the other letters. By the time she'd opened the front door and gone outside, the postie had driven off in his van.  >:(

Yeah likewise. I ordered something from ebay recently too and it never arrived in 3 weeks. No card through the door, nothing. Just no sign of it. So I'd reported it back to the seller who'd then filed an insurance claim. Another week later and I get a card through the door (even though I was in the house at the time) and had it redelivered a couple days later. So it took over 4 weeks altogether for the parcel to arrive and it was only coming from England. I was fizzing. Not the first time it's happened by a long shot.

Guess what? He did just that! I was amazed they actually delieved on the day I wanted (a bloody miracle!). Anyway, I was up and about, and then I heard this thing being pushed through our post box. By the time I got to it, the postman was nowhere to be seen.

I think I am going to get it re-delievered to my address in Wales...at least they knock if you have a parcel, and if I do miss the postman, the Delievery Office is in town, unlike the one up here in London, which is miles away!
