Well that changes things a bit  ;D.  I know SOP is to wait for a counterclaim, but I don't really foresee that happening, since if Jelly is a mafioso fake-claiming finder then its pretty much suicide (since we'd find out that Vemy is innocent on coroner and then lynch her tomorrow) and there's no edge I can see for the mafia in trading an evil for an innocent on day 2 (unless they have some reason to think Vemy is roled, which would imply that the mafia has a role-finder on their team, since he hasn't posted anything to give away a role).

Frankly I need more coronered dead people to get my radar working. I'm just going to go through the votes so far and pull up everything that pings me.

 

First item of interest:

I hear the squeak of a scared player. Normal people don't unvote. They might jump from lynch to lynch like monkeys on caffeine, replace a joke vote with a serious vote, or change their minds based on discussion, but they don't unvote - they're comfortable leaving their vote where it is. After all, they have nothing to fear: they can't accidentally lynch their partner and if they draw attention, what's the worst that can happen? They'll probably get investigated before anyone lynches them. Evil players are twitchier and more nervous. (I speak from experience of being hammered by exactly this last time I was evil.)

(Just going back up from later in my post to add this: Jelly later votes Boyo because "I don't know..just something about him..don't ask what, just something". That's her entire post on the subject. I assume this was meant to be a serious vote, so I feel justified in being sarcastic about the lack of reasoning. ;))

If A votes for B because B voted for C, even in a joky way, I'm looking at A and C in an extremely sideways manner. the dude's was also the very next post. Returning fire is a short, sharp way of heading off a potential lynch.

 

Third item of interest: I'm not going to quote Vemynal's entire post, but holy oceans of jumping the gun, Batman! He concluded that Kivam, DPR and/or Daetirion (but mostly DPR) were evil because they were the second, third and fourth votes on a lynch that hadn't even been finished and coronered yet? That's the least conclusive evidence in the history of day ones, and considering the day ones we've had in the past, that's saying something.

 

(I'll call this one 3A because it's not actually a suspicion, but I'm impressed by bcxanth's post here. It's not a big deal but I like his train of thought and his willingness to shine light on low-lying players.)

guys, i think we should take sirayn's advice on this one....  we're already up there on the votes for vem here, and i'd like to give more of a chance to:

 

1)  see a potential counter-claim - we're buying jelly's claim pretty easy here.  i'm willing to do that, but not before giving a bit of time to let someone else step up, just in case

 

2)  let's hear what vem has to say anyway.  may be worthwhile.

And yet at the same time, the logic for a Mafia reveal today is minimal

 

You will be discovered pretty sharpish, so there is little point. Whereas is fits both with Jelly's style (Metagaming but im thinking you learned a few things in Corner Pub) and Vemy's (Appear helpful at all times anyway). Vemy's pinging ze radar happens normally i will admit, however as Sirayn notes, its quite definately vindicated.

 

Ok now i hope Jelly won't mind me making a comment on her behalf, but Jelly's action is a bit scared Sirayn? Weeelll by my reckoning more than half this game are scared due to certain mafia giants being present, although another select group (cough MAFIA cough) will be scared for the reasons you imply.

 

Aaaand Vemy's just logged on so ill post this and wait for his response - which i am going to be interested in! Not saying we don't need to wait, just saying it wouldnt avail the Mafia to fake reveal now

They don't need to - but revealing when you find an evil is pretty much standard operating procedure since it guarantees you healer protection for as long as the healer survives and it also gets people more convinced to vote for the guy you know is mafia.
