Nope Luthine, nope we won't

(you can tell i have a free night tonight to spend on MSN/DM!)

Dependent on Jelly's guilt will either cement my suspicions about DPR or dismiss them. Something just doesn't feel normal about his posting atm and if it wasn't for Jelly's posting it would be DPR i would be voting. Just passing on thoughts  ;)

personally, what i'm paying attention to is this line right here:

*slightly fustrated*

There's a reason for everything you know. Remember that.

i hate to point it out like this, as it's bringing attention to something that normally we'd want to marginalize, but if we're going to lynch her, we'd better pay attention.

this sounds like a role claim to me, but jelly, i mean this in the nicest possible way, you're very close to dying right now.  if you have a good role and want to be saved from death right here and now, i advise being explicit.  after this post, the harm's been done, and you opened the door on this anyway.  may as well have out with it and see if people buy it.

Let me reverse psychologize ya. I find it very unlikely that Jelly is mafia.

This early in the game, it would make no sense at all to support another player like she supported me if you were mafia. It's obviously going to call lynchable attention to yourself and result in the player you supported being lynched next. With only the symp down, and he counts as an innocent player, no mafia team is going to willingly sacrifice 2 out of 3 probable players.

Also, May being night killed does lead us to believe that at least one experienced player is mafia. And an experienced player would guide their team mates against that kind of move. And if the post was made by mistake, they would tell that person to blow it off and not defend it. Imo, any experienced team that knows enough to night kill without leaving a clue as to why is going to have one or two players lay low while the other (and I'm assuming three here) is going to try and subtley steer the game. At least that's what I would do. Which is why I'm avoiding it.

I find Winter to be very agreeable and helpful, which fits into my "low-layer" theory. But as with everyone else, I don't have any daming evidence against her.

I will say that watching to see who does not post is going to be more revealing than seeing who does post.

I was trying to save ye! Now a few things are different.

First, the healer can protect you.

Posted

thanks, jelly.  :)

i'll [glow=green,2,300]unvote[/glow].

and i know what you mean, jelly.  like i said, i would normally let that remark of yours slide right then and there, but we're at a pretty critical juncture, and it's better for you to reveal than die without a word.

personally, i'm gonna choose to believe you.

and here's where it gets muddy.  those expressing doubt of jelly's guilt can easily be mafia playing a safe card.  of course they know she's innocent, so defending her can look good for them later.

Second, after Vemy so kindly pointed out Dude's awareness of reticence, or the lack thereof, it might be taken badly that he prompted a reveal. I'll need to ponder this a moment.

First i take it we haven't had a finder claim in this game yet? Will check but ... yeaaah too many mafia games.

For now, Jelly why oh why do you have to act so suspicious  ::)?  [glow=red,2,300]unvote[/glow]. Still not entirely convinced you aint just claiming and are mafia anyway but *shrug*.

Given DPR's post protecting you i thought, aha, ive got the pair of them. Now i suddenly don't have any blinking suspects... although i did throw up Winter Mist's name a while back. Going to need to rethink... hard.

Just wondering whether Jelly's been told to claim, just to see if either they can lure the real finder out, or just survive a little longer and mess up the innocent team. But too risky as a strategy for me to stick my vote...

*goes back and thinks*

heh.  like i said, muddy.   8)  first thing's first, let's see if we get a counterclaim.

haha, this is hilarious.  we're all posting so fast that no one's posting when they want to.  :D

Indeed, hilarity ensues - that post was written immidietly post Finder claim and you two beat me to the major points

rereading it my brain appears rather scatty as well - jumping from point to point. Im sure you get the idea, but its not the most logical of my posts...  :D

i like the color green.  no reason....

i take it, jelly, that you haven't found a mafia last night cycle?  as a needless cautionary note, of course don't reveal an innocent, if that's who you viewed.  :P

Posted

Hence (partially) the unvote - if you were more experienced i would be considering it a great deal more seriously than i am with you running it (no offense but that kind of thing i only expect from the devious %^&£@"'s who have been in these since time began - you know who im talking about  ;))

Although i really wouldnt put it past any experienced mafia to pass that strategy down - particularly if they're in a Godfather role etc. Normally the more experienced mafia (1 or 2 people) end up dominating the Mafia side of decisionmaking and i can really see this happening.

Critical call methinks but i have too many doubts to do anything except unvote (which you may have noticed i did earlier). As seeing you've declared, mind telling us who you've viewed and their alignment? should just be the one i think (too many mafia games = confusing - i think it is Day 2?)

Just noticed how many posts we've got through in the last little while. Definately critical point!

Posted

aw nuts.  was hoping to keep that on the downlow until we were in danger of actually lynching a viewed innocent.  ah well.

okay, where does that leave us?

Posted

I was going to wait and see who held off from voting this round, but i think it will help the innocents more if I point this out now:

We do not want to let the current confusion over who to vote for keep us from reaching a majority.

As per Barm's rules:

6. If you cannot reach a majority by the end of the day, I will kill the person with the most votes, if 2 or more are tied, then I will kill one at random.

This was a rule in a past game that I played as mafia and won because it makes it very, very easy for the mafia to lead a lynch against the innocents. By playing apathetically and not voting a majority, we not only give up our primary means of collecting info, but the player with the most votes gets the lynch.  In effect, the innocents give up their advantage in numbers.

Again, I was going to save pointing this out until later to see if I could pinpoint a mafia or two. But, with an early finder reveal and Barm's rule, we could lose too many players in a hurry.

As it stands, we are most likely looking at 8 innocents to 3 mafia. A bad lynch and another night kill brings us to 6 and 3, and with a revealed finder. Let's make the best choice we can and make sure that we all vote for a majority. I will have a vote up by tonight.

Posted

good point, DPR.  we gotsta pick someone.

so we've got 2 confirmed innocents, assuming that jelly's on the level, which i think we sort of need to do for right now.

dae, we don't know each other, so i hate doing this cold like this, but asking jelly to reveal who she viewed was unwise at best, and mafia at worst.  despite misgivings, i'm gonna vote for ya.

[glow=red,2,300]UNVOTE[/glow]

jesus christ people you do this to me when I drive home from school?! and yeah, now that jelly revealed I think the dpr "is innocent" remark makes sense now.

unless we get a counterclaim (and until) I'm willing to except dpr and jelly as innocent. Jellys comment about dpr came right at the beginning of day 2 after I voted dpr so it kinda adds up.

gonna do a rereread now...

jelly its because now the mafia know who to night kill

Posted

it's okay, jelly, but it makes the mafia's job easier, as vem said, and the healer's job harder.  now the mafia have 2 good candidates to kill, and the healer's likely faced with a tough choice.  it's not a huge deal, but it's put us at a disadvantage, hence my vote on dae for inciting you to it.

Posted

well, it breaks down like this, jelly.

we know that DPR is innocent, based on the general consensus that you really are the finder.  so, we're not gonna lynch him, narrowing the pool of potential lynchees to no benefit to the mafia.

the mafia now know that you've a valuable role, and the one person you've viewed thus far.  they can either night-kill you, or DPR.  the healer has to sort of guess which one they're gonna decide upon, and hope to get lucky.  say the healer does the obvious thing and protects you.  the mafia will go for DPR, and give us pretty much no new info in the process.  win-win for the mafia.

Posted

:)  haha, it's okay jelly.  we've forfeited a bit of advantage, but in a situation this hairy, there'll be clues aplenty to pick out.  it's not like this is a fatal error.  this stuff is getting into "deeper" theory of the game anyway...  though applying a term like deep theory to mafia may be over-generous.  :P

[glow=red,2,300]daetirion[/glow] because I totally agree with dude about daet's comment

Day2 vote:

Daetirion (3)- wintermist, dude, vemy

Luthine (1)- loki

and for the record dude, you never voted jelly, you merely unvoted luthine when you unvoted XD

oh and this is fairly simple: healer! don't risk the mafia or a serial killer targeting jelly

heal jelly!

ha!  you're right vem.  i think i intended to, and it was amongst that blizzarding deluge of a flooding embroglio of posts that came in there for a bit.  by the time i tried to post the vote, there were like 78 more posts.  and by 78 i mean 3.

We do not want to let the current confusion over who to vote for keep us from reaching a majority.

Tell me about it, a reply notification pops up in my email every 2seconds bringing its share of info, and yet I feel more confused than ever. Too many theories, too many suspicions for my little brain, it has just shut down for tonight...

(which is great considering the fact that I still got work to do)

I'll do my re-read tomorrow, hoping it will be clearer by then.

*continues hanging out by the bar instead of getting back to work* ^^
