I personally doubt Alanna will release Rand of the bond, but will Rand figure out a way to escape it? Im annoyed, because I was going oto post that and then a few other questions popped into my head

Posted

I also wanted to know what happened to Gaidal Cain.

How is Rand going to both bow to and bind the Seanchan?

Cain was reborn, and is currently an infant. What answer do you want beyond that? Also, we have an answer to the second - only the Seanchan Prophecies make mention of Rand bowing to the Crystal Throne, the Seanchan Prophecies are corrupted, we are not going back to Seanchan in AMOL. I'm sure you can work it out from there.
Please read the first post.
I did. You asked a question, I gave an answer. What is the problem? Nothing in the opening post says we can't answer these questions, only that our opinions on the answers aren't wanted. That is why I stuck to the facts. Also, the opening post says
Are there some little details that you want clarifying?
and now these little details are clarified. Like I said, I didn't give my opinion.

That said, I would really like answers to the following questions: Will Rand ever cleanse saidin? Will we ever find out who Setalle Anan used to be? Who will draw callandor from the Stone? Will the Seanchan return to the Westlands after being thrown off Toman Head?

Let's see how long it takes for the point to go right over someones head...

Agreed.

It's not meant to intimidate anyone from asking questions, but this community has existed for a long time, and unlike many other authors, Jordan did in fact work many of these nitpicky details out.

For any given question, it's not unlikely that we already have the definitive answer, no speculation needed. And since they're posting things they want to know the answer to, well, isn't it actually rude et al to not share?

Someone started a thread like this a couple weeks ago, and was angry that almost all of her questions were answered, instead of prompting "fun speculation"- why speculate when Jordan has provided the answers?

Jordan fans have access to the most comprehensive database of information of any in-progress series, largely because he was so thorough with how he established things.

Theres really only one question i have that hasenbt already been asked and that is:

Will Rand EVER gat his game together and chuck Taim out of the BT? Because if he waits until the middle of TG, the Light could be in some serious trouble...

``Will the AS ever fully root out the BA, and what will they do to them?''

FWIW, my guess on this one is that one of the five Black Ajah hunters in the Tower, probably Saerin, will realize that they have to enlist Egwene, and once they do, she will send one or more off to Caemlyn, thinking that Vandene is still alive to tell them what Isphan Bhoda might have revealed, only to have them then enlist Elayne, and cart the eight Black sisters Elayne has shielded and imprisoned in the palace in Caemlyn one by one back to the Tower for questioning using the Chair of Remorse. Perhaps (maybe especially after she learns about Delanna and Halima), Egwene will also arrange for one or more to go meet with Siuan and start work uncovering any BA in the rebel camp. With that, at any rate, they ought to be able to uncover most of the BA. But can they trust any of them, once they have gotten them to abandon their oaths to the Dark One and re-sworn the three oaths (as the ones the five currently have stashed away in the tower basements have done)? Are the ex-BA, or some of them anyway, to be the ``remnant cast out and scorned'' of Elaida's foretelling?

I am also hoping for a scene in which Seaine and Siuan meet and puzzle out jointly the mystery of the ``inappropriate'' Sitters in both halls. :-)

Will we ever find out who Setalle Anan used to be?

Whereas the going assumption is that she is the brown sister (Martine Janata [sp?]), that Vandene mentions to Elayne as a cautionary about Elayne's study of ter-angreal/angreal, this has yet to be confirmed. All we know for sure so far is that Setalle was once Aes Sedai and has burned herself out (not said in so many words in the discussion between Mat and Setalle in Knife of Dreams, but there isn't even a hint that she was stilled.) Her curiosity about Mat's fox-head medallion does not mark her as Brown Ajah, since Joline and Edesina seem even more interested in it, and they are Green and Yellow respectively.

Since she burned herself out, it will not be so easy to heal her as it would have been if she had been severed, but I am hopeful that in AMOL, Damer and Nynaeve will give it a go and succeed. Will she then show up in a brown-fringed Tar Valon shawl with Rand to meet Tuon? Will Tuon realize that what she liked about talking to Setalle was at least in part a consequence of Setalle having been Aes Sedai?

Thanks for the input guys. I did actually want simply a list of questions, no answers or speculation but perhaps I didnt get that over in the initial post ;D

Thanks for all the questions though - it seems there's lots we want to know!

aMoL should be a good one :D

It was clear enough to me, you just wanted purely questions without any debates or speculations. I don't know why people still posted answers to the questions, it seemed pretty obvious you didn't want them. This is one of those posts that really makes you think about the many bits you didn't notice or simply forgot about due to the size of the series.

Another thing, those massive Worm things in the Blight, Im sure one of the Forsaken said they cant "change shape" anymore (not exact wording I dont think but it boiled down to that. They might have said morphed but I wouldn't be surprised if Im wrong). I want to know how they could change shape, what they could change into, and why they cant anymore.

Never mind, we got some interesting things out of it anyway. I think that on the whole, we're still going to be wondering about some of them as we turn the last page... :'(

Thanks guys! ;D

Indeed, RJ did say that he wouldn't close all the minor threads. He said that if he finished up all the minor threads it'd be as if all the problems in the world would be solved. He said it would seem unrealistic if everything had been dealt with, and also if some threads weren't finished it would be as if the seires still lived on after Tarmon Gaidon, even if there weren't to be any books after AMoL (although we do know he did plan to do some after TG)

I would like you guys to look at a topic I started on Brandon's forums:

http://www.timewastersguide.com/forum/index.php?topic=5772.0,

It's more or less the same as this and actually BS has posted in this topic stating it is useful [i am thrilled ;D]

If you read all the books, could you please consider writing something there as well?

Admitedly, I wouldn't have started that other topic if I had carefully read dragonmount's description of AMOL. It says "Dragonmount will soon publish a list of unresolved questions and plot threads that we know of." I am sorry, I simply didn't know about this at the time. But nonetheless, it's nothing bad, and its fun, right?

Unless Brandon asks readers to comment on plots etc, I will not make any posts regarding what i feel should be in AMOl directed towards him. I have complete faith in his understanding of the story, especially since he, unlike the readers, has access to all notes made by RJ.

I don't know if I'm supposed to do this and if I'm wrong I won't do this again, but a question to Dreadlord. No offense, but can Faile do anything in the next book (other than die) that would put her in your good graces? Just wondering. ;D :D ;D

Of course nobody should tell any writer what to write about. That's why we shouldn't think about AMoL. It's not about AMoL. It's about getting the full picture after book 11. Plus, Brandon wrote: "I'm aware of most of this, of course, but there's always the chance that I'll miss something. So, if there are questions you are looking to have answered in Book Twelve, go ahead and post them."

Honestly speaking, I think it would be just as good a thing to do if RJ was still working on the series. For us!

I sure can't answer for Dreadlord, but for Faile to do anything that could redeem her would be so far out of character as to be ridiculous. I think Moiraine will balefire her on sight. (Sorry...couldn't resist)
