we have our places to rant and rave and celebrate..but i just need to chatter about anything that pops into my wee little brain...*grins*  And this is where you can too!

Like...I'm watching Dancing with the Stars.  Anyone else?  Some of these folks are really bad this season..some are pretty good..mostly I wish I could dance...then in the middle of it..comes a commercial with Barbara Walters about living to be 150 years old...HUH?  I don't wanna...any one else?

marlee matlain just danced..she is profoundly deaf...and did the Quickstep.  It is just amazing!  Her dance was close to perfect...well executed!  Good grief!  And the pro that is doing the training with her?  Just amazing talent..but even more....it goes to show that you just have to try..obstacles are able to be worked with, around and over...

Going off that, I might be able to volunteer this summer at a place that will let me teach some basic signs to little kids! I just need to fill out the application soon. Perhaps if I do that I can help out with a program called Wee Hands, which teaches baby signs (http://www.weehands.com)! Yeah, I get excited over things that involve ASL easily.

Dancing with the Stars is one of the only "reality" shows I will watch.  I agree that, overall, the dancers this year seem a little more awkward....even for the first week.

No I do not want to live to 150......yikes.  :o

Oh and do we still have a good deeds thread??

Yes I did.  I have been trying to help a friend locate a "cheap" car.  He has a wife and two children and they are without vehicle and without means to get one.  Also he has had difficulty securing a job due to no transportation.  Well my Uncle (Honda Sales Manager) finds a trade in for $700.00US.  Figured out where this is going yet?  So he was able to gather up enough to pay for the taxes, title, and licensing fees.  I covered the cost of the car.  And even though I trust this person and his history of working hard to pay back debt....I still stand with my fingers crossed.

And Zarine, I have thought once or twice about taking the ASL courses here where I work.  What prompted you to learn?

It's offered as a minor at my school and people with my major usually take it. Plus one of my friends always told me how much fun the classes were, so I just decided to take them and I'm glad I did.  :)

Also one of my classes got cancelled!

*grins*  Sounds like you are having fun with your new experiences Nephi!  I had a roomy from Japan..it took some adapting, she didn't speak English when she arrived! And had a limited reading ability of it as well..LOL the first thing we communicated together..was singing.."I'm a little teapot..."

Well done Sam!  My husband and you sound very similar..good men and willing to take a risk to help out a friend..*hugs*

And Zar...i saw the weather..looks like Spring isn't springing out there to soon..I'm sorry!

OK so..the Easter bunny brought me Enchanted...and I am!!  This is the first Disney movie in a looooonnnng time that really feels like a Disney movie to me!!  *grins*  I cry at the end every time!!  And already can sing the songs...

I got hooked on dancing with the stars last season while I was at home and not able to get up very much. I keep trying to catch it this season, but damned if my DH doesn't have something I need to do just as soon as I start watching it. *sighs*

As for what's up... *grins* My hyacinths, my jonquils, my amaryllis is about to bloom, I even have a gerber daisy all pretty and leafy. Heck, the poinsettia that nearly died this winter is on my porch and the top leaves are starting to turn red. My DH is making me dig up everything in my front bed and de-weed it. I made him buy a netting to go down over the plants so I don't have to do this every time he gets a wild hair.

Oh, I think I need a trip to the rant thread... sorry, ya'll...
