Is Mat really tied to the horn?

He died.  I know Birgitte calls him 'horn sounder' but he did die when he was hanged.  We haven't seen the horn since then, so do we know whether or not he's really still bound to it, or it to him?

Just an idle thought, not really sure it makes a difference anyway most people would look past it because he's alive, but meh!

Rhavin did kill him and then it never happen when Rand Balefired him into last week.  The 'to die and live again' bit from the aelfinn I think

That's interesting.  I seem to remember him dying when he was hanged, I guess I remembered wrong, it's been a really long time.  I thought that was the to die and live again... maybe I just connected the two in my head where they shouldn't have been :)

A number of people believe that Rand actually cut Mat down from the tree before he was actually dead.

Robert Jordan was among that number of people.  Considering how he's the author...
