Shaido

Forgive me if this is resolved already, but do we know what the fate of the Shaido is? Do they fight for the DO, do they join forces with Rand eventually, or do they continue purely to see a continuation of the Aiel as we know them?

Well as of book 11, not sure all has been resolved.  We do know, that Galina will spend alot of time in the three fold land. We know most of all Aiel that were with Sevena will not trouble the wetlands to much.  I find it unlikley that they will follow Rand.  I think they will run back to the three fold land with their tails between their legs, and we will hear very little of them.  But as far as I know, nothing is totaly settled in that area.  But, most of their wise ones who could channel are now guest of the Seanchan.

The few that are left will probably head to the Waste and live in exile from the Aiel community that is left there.

I doubt we'll hear anything about the Shaido since the Seanchan took care of most of them and the rest are scattered.  The Shaido will probably be obsorbed into other lands/Aiel clans.  There's already so much going on in the last book, I don't see any room for the Shaido plot line to have any further resolution. 

 

With that said, it might be a nice touch if a few bands of the remaining Shaido do something great in the last book to regain their honor.

I am not sure what they could do to ever regain their honor, they have totaly tossed all their beliefs out. If there is any justice in the Wheel, they will be swept aside when the trollocs finlay roll out of the Blight. :)

Just a possiblility.

 

We know that the Waste is all but defenceless. All the Aiel armies followed Rand. So if the Trollocs attack the Waste there would be no one to protect the women and children that got left behind.

 

Maybe, just maybe, the Shaido get back too the Waste just in time to save it.

Actually, the Aiel that followed Rand left enough Warriors to defend the Holds.

 

But an interesting point. What is left of the Shaido is literally a remnant of a remnant of the pre-Rand Aiel.

good call- i never thought of that, but i think you're right....a remnant of a remnant they are!
