  1. Jason D. - @Dragonmount A Memory of Light is out. The Wheel of Time turns on, but this story has reached its ending. The podcast hasn't, though! With the final book out, we have all the more to discuss and debate. And we won't be doing it alone. Instead, we will be inviting two of our listeners to join us for a discussion of all that has happened in A Memory of Light. That's right: you have the opportunity to join us for for a recording of The 4th Age Podcast. Before you start commenting below, keep reading to find out how you can join us. If you are interested, please m
  2. For myself, I think traditional weapons would be best. As the question made no mention of any training, I have to assume a situation where I'm taken as I am now, about to be thrust into a battle, and given the choice of weapons or the One Power. Now, I have no idea how to use the One Power. And, as we've read time and again, accessing the True Source is dangerous, at best. And even after that's mastered, it takes time to learn how to be dangerous with the One Power. With traditional weapons - swords, staves, and perhaps some projectile weapons - I at least know enough to not hurt m

  18. Just got the third power supply to go along with my MacBook. First time, their fault. This time, not so much.

  19. I concur... 'Tis but my own humble opinion I was spouting. And I welcome and respect yours, as well. To me, though, as interesting as Cadsuane's brief character page was - and most of that was stuff I actually didn't know, though it seems I could have with a bit of research - the breadth and depth of things that RJ kept notes on is more interesting.
  20. Don't forget: we've still got open clues specifically given for online guessing! Keep going! And, anyway, the list of note names is far more interesting then Cadsuane. Although that word puzzle did take a TON of skill to crack.
  21. Make sure you're checking the Great Hunt main page regularly. We've gotten lots of clues and codes in the last 24 hours. http://bit.ly/wotgh
  22. Okay, so do we think that Brandon gave him a code, or that it has something to do with police-states, bannings, or similar things of that ilk?
  23. Players from last year recognize whats going on, but for you new kids: The file that Brandon put up is - for all intents and purposes - heavily encrypted. So much so that at the beginning of the Hunt, all we can see of it is hash-tags (#). As more and more clues get entered, more of the file will be decoded. Those random characters you see are the beginnings of the decryption. However, don't be fooled. Just because a hash is gone doesn't mean that whatever took it's place is correct. Some characters will go through several iterations before we see what it's actually supposed to be. Las
  24. The cleansing is definitely the climax of the book, and a really good scene, but it's not my favorite in the book. I really like the scene where Rand and Min are in Andor, and he's confronted by all his ladies. And then he's bonded to them. 'Course there's also the next bit, that's slightly comical, but it's not as good as the bonding. IMHO
