whoops.  in retrospect i should have, but no, i wasn't keeping that in mind.  my bad.  i did it only to avoid double-posting.

 

anyway, yeah, i think we should consider this fact.  do with it what you will, but it's pretty suspicious, especially with vemy, since he's been declared since nearly the beginning of the game.

I wasn't going to bring it up because then it just looks like a cover, but I was a bit surprised to wake up this morning as well.  It occurred to me that the kills might be re-directed, like how the questions are not answered exactly correctly, etc.  Talya's death kind of came out of nowhere, and FDM's late death looks like a reaction to another action?  I'm not quite ready to vote yet, and I think we need to be very careful in who we choose next! If all of the roles that "look" like mafia roles actually are, then we are hopefully down to 2.

the reason why I'm still alive? imo its that in most games i manage to get lynched for being suspicious, the evils are probably going crazy right now for the fact that I haven't been lynched yet.

 

the other reason, my role can be both good and bad, if we have a vig target an evil and i target the same evil and my ability heals him then we are screwed. Its just that statistically if I'm targeting an evil the odds are in our favor:

its a 2:3 ratio, so its just barely in our favor. And remember that I don't know what my abilities do, for Dark Justice or FDM i don't know if I killed them or role blocked them or something i don't even know of.

I'm kinda on the fence of who to vote for. Vemy I'm so tempted to vote you because it would be easy, on the other hand I'm also not really sure about Dude. I'm going to do a read through tonight and attempt to make a case tomorrow if I have the time.

I wish that the choice was as easy as jumping on a bandwagon, but after reviewing the posts, I keep pinging on Sorandha. Now, I can sympathize with RL situations - alot. But I noticed that out of the last 10 pages, her posts are few and she always justifies her choices through other players reasoning. Is she busy and just going with other trusted players opinions, or cleverly playing on a situation to stay under the radar. I'm re-reading now, and will cast a vote in a short while. But I seriously don't want to lynch an innocent, so does anyone else get this vibe?

well i know i haven't been posting much but i'm thinking that Vemmy could be right, the evils could be not killing him because they want us innocents to think he is evil because he hasn't been killed yet, but then again i'm fairly new to the game so i don't know.

I'm not quite sure if I'm going to be able to get to the cases today since I'm rearranging the living room and rewiring the cable downstairs and it needs to be done by tomorrow morning since that is when my family will be here for the holidays. If I finish early then I'll be able to do the cases.

OK - this jumped out at me right away:

 

You have Vemy listed as "Jessamine Ferland, aka "Scared-E-Cat". Just a name, but no alignment.

 

Given that Vemy has limited finder abilities as well, I wondered if we all recieved different information. Maybe you get the names, I get the alignment, and Vemy never knows what he is going to get (Not that I really do either - I've had some questions answered in very vague terms). This setup would be diabolical! We would each have to reveal and share information to put the pieces together. I would not put that past Dsage for a second...

 

I am going to look more closely at your case, but after reading and re-reading, I still don't get a scumdar ping on any of the players that have been active. It's no guarantee, I know,  But I feel like "laying low" has been a very productive technique for the mafia in the last number of games and that None of these cases really sways me one way or the other because the roles are so confusing.

well certainly now i feel better about my earlier retraction.

 

anyway, loki, you sort of solve my problem here.  couple posts ago, i said that both DPR and Vemy had revealed and had no consequences.  having gone days and days without a counter claim against DPR, i went with the temporary assumption that he was on the level.  you yourself said i had a point about it, right?

 

i'm gonna go with you on this one, loki, but i personally think we should kill the snake we can see.

 

no offense, vemy; you did seem a good candidate.

I am %100 certain that Loki is telling the truth. And the idea of everyone having to role reveal in order to get the whole story sounds scarily possible considering how this game has been going. Because DPR can't give names to the people he is "viewing" I can only think that he is most likely lying. [glow=red,2,300]DPR[/glow], if you're innocent, then there's still plenty of time to prove yourself and try and pool our evidence together to try and find the mafia still among us.

Now we are getting somewhere!

 

As the games draw on and the mafia get closer to the end and a possible win, there is always a point at which they have to try to "steer" the vote towards their victory.  I count eight living players (Dsage said 9 in his vote count - did I miss one?), so if we lynch a Resident now and the mafia succeed in their night kill, that leaves 6 players. If there are 3 mafia, we have lost. If there are 2 mafia, we have to hit one on the next vote. So it is time to make the best guess that we can! I've been waiting to see if the mafia would reveal themselves, and now we have this:

 

1. Loki and Dude oppose each other early. True, they risk getting one or the other lynched, but if they succeed in living through it, which they did, they have the ultimate cover. Two experienced players would know this. It's a good plan.

 

2. That Dude unleashed the Cromwell Approval on Loki - AND THEN RETRACTED IT! - is almost history in the making here at DM. Which is why he felt compelled to explain his actions. But it has never happened before. Ever.

 

3. They keep a light grudge against each other. fine.

 

4. Then Loki reveals that he is the "Phsychic".  But he only "finds" names - He tries to catch himself up with "Oh btw, Vemy is a resident", but he forgot to include that in his first post? Uh huh. He accuses me of being scum, but then votes Leelou? He's all over the place, which could just be Loki......but.......

 

5. Dude hs been building a case against Vemy, and Loki is now building a case against me because we are two roled players who have provided accurate info to help win the game!  The Vemy lynch was not gaining any steam, so try to take out the other finder, right?

 

6. And then, Dude is all of the sudden cool with Loki?  "Thanks for clearing up all that confusion! I vote DPR". But Loki did not clear up anything. he did not even have an answer to my response to his post. And how did these two become friends out of nowhere?

 

Now, Loki has a list of names and I have found him to be a Resident in the past. But what if he was recruited? Or what if he is another symp? What if he is a symp who can "find" names but not alignments? It's a neat trick, but it does not really help anybody and it is the perfect way to give a little something to the mafia in a game where I can find alignments. It does make things interesting!

 

Actually, hats off to Dsage - that's an awesome game feature!
