i think that sinister didn't sign up here because he may think this is more mafia type moderator sign up. after all, that's more what this is geared to despite the open invitation to everyone. no one really seems to be taking us up on the offer. *shrugs* and his sign ups are going pretty slow. he may just give up...

i ran an ad on general with a list of all the games being proposed at the time... i think maybe we need to invest in barmy's newb recruiting and we need to get a thing up on community news.

This is tied in to the "sticky" topic, I know, but what if we did a DM advertisment that announced the game board and defined what it is? We would probably recruit more players as well.

wes, that's what the dm announcements are. my only issue is that not enough people generally check the general discussions and that is where it would be going.

well, I dont really see the problem with making announcements outside generalboards, mostly because most members here dont check the general board that much. so we should go where people are.. and thats the orgs and divs..

Wasn't there something like a newsline a couple of weeks ago? Can't find it again, but that looked like an excellent place to advert for this kind of thing

Yeah, I was really thinking about something sent to all the divs and orgs so that they would know. Danya is spot on.

I think that maybe we could also, in furtherence of advertising, see if the org newspapers would be interested in running the scoreboard, and highlights of current games, in their weekly papers.... sort of like a "sports section".

thats the newsthingy I was thinking about at least.. I dont know about that many other orgs that has a newsletter like that. we can write something up and get it in the next edition.

-try to get a line or 3 in any newsletters for the scoreboard

-remember to do an ad for barmy every so often

-find more places to advertise

-find out if fiddles and games have access to the blog

just something to encourage people to not only come here and play mafia games and other games, but also to create new games for themselfs. jsut make sure you tell them that there are other games here than just Mafia^^

and about advertising in the orgs and divs, I was thinking of doing something close to what Kivam did with his cookbook. just write a little text an add a link to the board and things like that. it seems to me to be the best way of advertising.

 

and I havent heard about Fiddles having access to the blog, but maybe this board can get it? my opinion is that Fiddles should have it too  :P
