There’s no 3p - but Jester can be town aligned.

So, to be clear, you are or are not claiming Jester?

Correct. As I said, that was a typo as clarified in my follow up post. It was a joke. I am not a jester.

As I understand it, the Jester is only a 3p as defined in that link, and there are no 3p in this game, so at least we don't have to worry about my Tarot card reading on GK.

Are you included in this everyone?

@DPR

What's your thoughts on Turin posting this?

I'm going to assume this isn't WIFOM in the manner ya'll are talking about, but isn't this also baiting for WIFOM?

Like I mentioned, I could see a world where any claim can be used against you by either party whether it's in Day 1, or in Day 5.

After I read this again later, and realized LD = Lie Detector (I can't believe I missed that the first time).
I can definitely see why we should claim Town.

So, IMO, this post from Turin is mostly in regard to discussions had in the past two (maybe more) games. He’s crazy for the LD.

But again, what would be the negative purpose of him bringing this up? Why bait WIFOM?

We’re just over 24 hours into d1 - y’all gotta chill the flock out over all this WIFOM madness 🤣

I was more referring to the players who are, shall we say, overly exuberant and need places to put their energy 👍

Let’s see if we can find a few points of agreement:

1. WIFOM can be used effectively by mafia, sure, but that usually comes into play a bit later when a lynch or something important is on the line.

@Gabriel Kross what would be the point of SD laying down the WIFOM at this point in the game?

2. @SinisterDeath If I read you correctly, you’re claiming the Jester role? Will you share your win condition with us?

Also, my previous question still stands - why reveal your role and plan now? You’re not in any real danger of a lynch and it seems like you might have held out a little longer to achieve the goal you explained?

I gotta grab a quote for the next…

there was no point to it it really just felt like a pre-laid "ah you see I was right! X player was Y aligned and they did this thing that I said" Basically what was said in and of itself was worthless because he defined this scenario but then turned around and stated that it could be used the same way on the other side... it just felt weird and given that he just said he needed to look up wifom specifically to turn around and almost immediately make a textbook example of said wifom just did not sit right with me.

we have had Town aligned jesters in the past, it's not unheard of here. Even as a joke I don't understand why you would introduce the idea of a Jester... Anyone know what the vote count on Sinister was when they made this *joke*

Fair, but just a thought I guess? I'm always paranoid AF.

Finally someone speaking some sense! But I'm biased here obviously. lmao

That's partly why I did that whole movie thing... but nooo everyone hates horror movies... Get those conversation wheels greased, maybe I can pick at the seems of why someone picked a movie. Might mean something, might not. The Tarot reads were fun (for me), but have largely gone ignored... Waiting for people to wake up, and also waiting on some slanky slankers to post something of relevance, because I don't really have anything really to say much more then spam at this point.

It's literally two posts down from my joke. I'm 3 away from a Hammer. If I'm actually a Jester, why would I even bring it up?

Official Vote Count

SD (3) - Eddie. Darthe, Peace

Teph (1) - Turin

Eddie (1) - Dice

Heavy (1) - Teph

Darthe (1) - GK

With 11 alive it's 6 to Hammer

Not voting (4): Heavy, DPR, Tig, SD

End of Day 1

If I was a jester, my Win Condition is to get K/O'd by Lynch. I was joking that I'd be speed running that role as we still have 48 hours left of D1. lmao.

To put this in perspective.

Dice Voted Ed because, Ed voted for me First.

I do a good enough job of doing this, I don't need any help with role claiming. lmao

you're missing the logical counterpoint, if you're mafia and you start throwing around Jester it's a fast way to derail your train. Not that it really is a train right now unless the "joke votes" aren't retracted. Which is why I haven't moved my vote yet, I'm waiting to see where/if these joke votes get moved.

And as I've stated, I am not a Jester. I was literally a joke about me speed running my way to a lynch. lol

(At most, it's nudging future game mods to let me play as that role in a future game! Hint hint! Nudge nudge!)

I feel like we need to be in alignment about this and the previously made points of replacing the word “lynch” and

acronyms.

If everyone uses different terms and different acronyms, that will seriously hinder the town’s ability to read people. We need to agree on terms to prevent confusion.

The same goes for Heavy’s statement above - statistically, we are likely going to lynch a townie. We’ll do our best to avoid that, but numbers are numbers. What we don’t want to miss is the info to be gained.

So maybe everyone take a deep breath and keep giving reads or WTL’s as those are things we can use later on

Could you explain how this isn't a wolf saying "no wolves are under suspicion, so let's just railroad someone randomly even if you don't think they're mafia"?

Of course reads are good, in lists or post by post. But forced wtls are only going to muddy the waters, IMHO. We should be aiming to eliminate a wolf, not being resigned to not having a chance to. If people are giving wtls because they have to while not having mafia leans, I don't see how that is going to tell us anything. If people don't have reasons for voting there is no way to differentiate a mistake from a deliberate miselimination.

I mean what is to stop a wolf from voting for whoever and then saying DPR made me? At least if they stay undecided we will have a better chance of reading if they are genuinely undecided and it will make any wolf moves more obvious.

Anything you say, or don't say will be held against you in the Mafia Court.

Careful now, GK's going to get on you for WIFOM's if you keep going down this track. 😛

1. Nobody has said anything even close to the bold above.

2. Nobody can actually force anyone to post a list or anything else. If a player doesn’t have any reads, they’ll just say so. If they don’t have any by d2, they’ll stick out.

3. Anyone that claims another player made them do something will be laughed at.

I am genuinely trying to answer you here.

yes, because even if there is a vote controller you can't say your vote was controlled, or at least that's how it is usually handled here.

So then we are agreed that asking/pressurising players for a wtl isn't town behaviour?

The point at the bottom of all this is that multiple people thought that your interaction with Teph was a little odd. I don't think there is more to it than that but I do feel you are mudsying the waters a bit, or maybe we both are, so if we could just agree that wtl should have grounded reasons we can let it drop.

This has nothing to do with what Heavy is talking about.

But it is a magnificent example of WIFOM lol

Gladiator is a role, look it up, it's fun, but all it really accomplishes is sewing chaos.

Not agreed. To the opposite, pressuring players to give lists implies that they have avoided doing so and is a necessary part of the game to combat slanking and keep fresh information flowing into the game.

People will think whatever they will and they should say so. The more lists with reasons the better.

I also think you are overlooking the info gained by people that do push.

Our philosophies are miles apart, but we’ll keep trying

That is definitely an interesting role. I guess my assumption about Thunderdome and Russel Crowe's skirt wasn't far off. 😛
