Frankly, I’m unreasonably excited for season 3 of the show. I’ve restarted the series and I’m working through my second read of Eye of the World.

The show is just. So. Pretty!!! 
Also, I’m loving how the show isn’t shying away from sapphics as much as the books did. Different day and age, right? All the representation is so validating.

Either way, welcome to Dragonmount!  I don't usually post outside of the clubs, but we're pretty relaxed in those.  lol

Would you mind telling me some more about your clubs? I read all the intro posts, but I’m not sure I’m fully grasping it.

Sure!  I'm really only active in one, but we used to have a lot more.  lol

 

Dragonmount is divided into three sections.  The general forums, where people come and discuss the books, tv shows, etc...  The clubs, and the roleplay area.

 

Clubs is where people can enter the White Tower to become Aes Sedai or a Warder , or join the Band of the Red Hand, or the Kin...  You can join as many as you want, and each club has their own twist to it.  I've made many life-long friends in the White Tower, and they're pretty tight-knit.

 

The roleplay area is where you can write up your own character and play out plots in the Wheel of Time world.  There are lots of rules, and I've been out of it for so long I'm not sure I can explain it properly now.  lol

I’m not into the roleplay idea, but joining the tower sounds intriguing! What ranks have you joined? Anything particular to recommend for a jumping off point?

The clubs (social groups? I think they have had a lot names over the years) are just a place to hang out. People there are just themselves, as opposed to someone that grew up in the streets of Caemlyn. To check them out just sign up here, 

 

 

which will open up all the White Tower threads (which is the most active club at the moment), and then a good and recommended start would be to introduce yourself in a few of the Ajahs and ask a question. Straight away that should give you an idea of how the Tower works and introduce you to who is about, and show how odd it is to act like a Novice amongst Aes Sedai.

Yes! My business is called Springboard Peacebuilding. I have a J.D. (Doctor of laws), but then continued for an LL.M (master of laws) focused in both corporate transactional law and alternative dispute resolution. I studied conflict science at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law and was offered (but ultimately refused) admission to the masters of conflict science program at Lipscomb University (I had a problem with the conduct pledge). 
I fell in love with conflict science and negotiations and mediation and arbitration, so I opened my firm! I take private and corporate clients as well as speak and lecture on the conference circuit. Folk just don’t know how to talk to each other! 
How do you practice as peacekeeper? No wonder you’re a gray sister!

@AlsBeck Luhhan I practice at peacekeeping by being a mother of 6 and also my household consists of 10 people most of the time! 🤪🙃😇 I also find myself in situations, whether I would like it or not, trying to help others find the similarities and unity opposed to differences and separation in RL. I think I've always been drawn to healing the world.

Holy moly! Managing that size of a family is an undertaking indeed! Constant measuring of reactions and keeping warring factions from descending into chaos! Hats off, friend!!

I can imagine! As the youngest of 5 and a homeschooling mom of two vastly differing and spicy kids, all I can do is take my hat off to ya! 🙂

We homeschooled when there were 3, then we moved to a small town, added 3 more and they all chose public school. I laughed at the "spicy kids" comment. We have some spicy ones as well. As if I haven't has enough, I'm starting a job as a substitute teacher soon. 😂

Wow! Well, we need some more Peacebuilders in education. The seeds of ignoring conflict management in education have sprouted into dysregulated students and teachers that just escalate each other to unproductive levels. We need it taught and modeled at home AND at school.

Still goin to watch 3 though because j hate myself lol. I love the shadowspawn, channeling and so far the cast is pretty great. I’ll refrain from the negatives 😉 lol.

Hahahahaha. Not a book purist at all. I understand the necessity of change for the screen. Absolutely. The changes I dislike are the symbols that had no real reason. The serpent ring, the trefoil leaf and Waygates. None of those changes push a narrative but are exactly the things I wanted to see. Costume design has been terrible. I love what they did with the other things I wanted so I continue to watch but over all, it’s just not that good to me.
