I don't know what to think of your claims. :? Why did you use your one investigation tonight? Why was the dude so suspicious that you blew your only investigation on night one? Do you have such strong powers that you can afford to toss off a finder investigation one night and concentrate on your other powers from then on?

I can think of one very good reason why Alys would use her power early on: she always gets night-killed  And the dude looked extremely suspicious, pointing the finger at you, my dear.

This is actually pretty funny in an oh-crap-what-now kinda way. Neither me or Kivam budgeted for one of the finder claimants to be Sira herself. Is that what prompted her to come forward in this manner?

The Claims

You're the finder, and a false finder claims your role. You're going down if you don't speak up, so you do.

You're a pirate, you know you're going down either today or tomorrow, so in the meantime you might as well get us to lynch our sherriff.

Both believable.

You're the finder and you've found that an influential player is evil, so you come forward. Naturally.

You're a pirate claiming finder, knowing that the only way to get rid of an innocent Sira now is to sacrifice a team member to counter claim, knowing that the most logical thing for us to do is lynch Sira rather than risk a seer. But Sira claims and it's suddenly all or nothing.

Second scenario less believable because of sacrifice, but I won't discount it. In fact, I did say we should kill the seer gunning for Sira's lynch if their were competing claims.

The Choices

Alys knows the real sherriff will investigate Sira so she uses her one-time find on someone who isn't being investigated tonight but is nevertheless influential and acting suspicious - the dude. I can buy this.

Sira knows everyone expects the finder to investigate the finder but she *is* the finder so she investigates someone else who has been acting suspicious - the dude. Same reasoning as Alys. I'll buy it. Obviously no one thought of investigating Kivam because he was too much of a risk - might be killed, waste of finding.

Wintermist is the seer investigating Sira as she's been told to.

Still just thinking out loud. I got nothing yet.

Our Target

Who's guilty here? If Sira is innocent then Wintermist is guilty, the dude is maybe guilty, and if so Alys is definitely guilty. Would they really risk putting themselves forward like that all at once if they were evil? Maybe. But I think not. Alys' claims serves no purpose for the evil team and no one stakes even a false claim on someone who aint innocent so Alys and the Dude drop off my scum-dar, to use Kison's phrase.

If Sira is guilty ... we really don't get much out of that except that the dude is probably innocent.

If we lynch Sira and she is guilty then we have a dead pirate. Yayness!

If we lynch Sira and she is innocent we have a dead finder and a dea Sira plus a definite target for tomorrow's lynch. On balance, not ideal.

If we lynch Mist and she is evil we know Sira is innocent and we have a dead pirate. Yayness!

If we lynch Mist and she is innocent we have a dead finder and a definite on who to lynch tomorrow. Not ideal either.

But we have to lynch one of them because even if we find a third party who could give us the info - a second round Zylazlo if you will - the real seer may well die tonight because the doc doesn't know who to protect. Unless someone has a role that is a one-night protect? Anyone? Please step forward.

it's rough going down that early. trust me, i know, kivam. 8) you should have seen the first game we ran on fiddles... just brutal. :D and that game sounds like it may be pretty fun; i'll sign up for that one (but that's for another time).

this is a sticky situation. for all the above reasons. i'll just add that (and you know i love ya, but it's the nature of the game) sirayn may be trying to placate me by confirming my innocence, since i was targeting her with my hunkiness, i mean, er, hunch. iness. hoping maybe that this puts me off the trail. i don't know that i buy it.

bearing in mind that i can't necessarily trust either of the other two finders either (on principle in-game), the above assertion could be total bull, but in this tangle, we've gotta start somewhere. and i'm gonna go with the one i think most likely to actually try to produce this situation: sirayn.

sirayn, if you end up innocent, i totally promise to feel bad about this. 8)

in all truth, griefy pegged it with the following:

can think of one very good reason why Alys would use her power early on: she always gets night-killed And the dude looked extremely suspicious, pointing the finger at you, my dear.

Alys knows the real sherriff will investigate Sira so she uses her one-time find on someone who isn't being investigated tonight but is nevertheless influential and acting suspicious - the dude. I can buy this

anyway, my gut is telling me that sira is a lying liar who lies. this could have something to do with how she always ends up being a finder claimant when there is an issue... if she is real, well, she is the boy who cried wolf.

at the same time, my brain is yelling, you have played with winter before! you know that she has contemplated this!

when all is said... i have to go with sira.

Having read all of the above, I'm going to say that the reasoning that the people above me have given seems to be solid, so I'm going to add my vote to Sirayn. If we are all wrong, us innocents are so gonna regret this.

You are still in, for the rest of it... go back and read.

You're still in. Kivam was nightkilled, Winter Mist claimed sheriff and announced that Sira was evil, while Sira claimed finder and announced that dude was innocent. Alys spoke up with a one-use finder role also proclaiming dude innocent.

So now we have two competing sheriffs, both of whom cannot be good. We have to lynch one or the real one will likely die tonight anyway. At the end of this lynch we will have one definite evil but might have lost a seer. Any further questions?

I'm voting Sira for now but hope she leaves us a legacy of logic just in case she is innocent.

I'd also like to hear more from Alys about the time Winter Mist contemplated 'this' - what this? This exact scenario? One like it? When? What was the logic involved, details, details.

Well I just got off work... and it looks like Sira is the way that things are going to go so. Sira

Well no one noticed to modesses deliberate mistake  . It was 5 votes to lynch as there are only 9 left...*whistles*

SIRA (6) - Winter Mist, Dude, Alys, Barmy, GG, Boyo

WINTER MIST (1) - Sira

As soon as people start realising what's going on Alys says that after having a few long chats last night she has found out that someone is innocent, then up jumps Winter Mist and says I am the Sheriff and my investigations have shown the Sira is a pirate, Sira then pops up and says that she is the finder and that The Dude is innocent, which Alys agrees as her finding. Winter Mist boldly votes for Sira and she counteracts with a vote for WinterMist. Slowly after a little debate the other villagers all choose to lynch Sira.

As the final vote lands on Sira, she produces a cutlass from her cloak and threatens anyone to come close. As she waves it about she fails to see Toy come up behind her he trips over a stone and flies straight into the back of Sira and knocks her flying. The cutlass falls from her hands and the villagers dive in almost pulling her a part. She is taken to the tree and hung there, they have lynched One Eyed Will the pirate. They check out her house and discover a few chests of treasure which they divide between them.

It is now night, your night actions please

I think this is the only time I've been lynched - innocent or evil! Congratulations for finally catching me out in a fake finder claim. ;)

This makes me feel good, as I have slowly started getting vengeance on all those who lynched me last game, despite my being evil.

Alys claims you are innocent, you'll have to wait til next game, don't worry.

haha, yeah, barmacral, guess i'll make it through this game, barring nightdeath. you'll get your chance at me though no doubt. :D

you know, mist, you were very briefly on my suspect list, but obviously at this point i've dropped that. i'm glad we went the direction we did too. you know why? because i was right.

and that was the gloating moment with the dude.
