Listen broseph, I don't even wear panties, so there!  I don't care about win %, it doesn't mean much.  Being a solid townie and having your "teammates" tank the game for you is something you can't always control.

And take it seriously, that is my solve.  If you're town, then the others are the scum team, IMO.

Here's the big question:  if you are town, why aren't you jumping at the potential solve of BFG/Clov?  Didn't you even mention it before (somebody did)?  Why not question my town reads and make sure you agree, and we mechanically lock this game?

Why aren't you doing that?

So which one do you think is the townie?

I'd probably switch this to the one I'm most inclined to say is scum, which would be BFG.

Both you and Shad have made me think you're townies at different spots in this game, and both have also posted things that make me think otherwise.

tl;dr: if you're town you're doing that thing you did in Tennis mafia again and it was a bad idea there too

I recognize you're new and fiercely independent so I can't fault you for it in the short term, but if you would like to increase your chances of winning games dramatically it would be to your advantage to heed some players' advice.  Even if they are wolves, they won't steer you wrong really, because there are villagers watch them who will call them out if they try to.

Sometimes, scum are universally town read. I'm going with my gut.

I would prefer winning over losing, but I'm not very attached to it at this point in this game, and when I said "So what?" I meant sometimes you're wrong. I'm not going to not make a read just because I might be wrong, and I still don't see why you're supposed to be town. Nothing you did at the start irt me looked like town, and since then, you have only left me confused. You have long post after long post and all you conclude from them is that you aren't sure who the wolves are. I'm not convinced that if you are town, you're doing any better at it this game than I am. I could argue that you're doing worse, since I at least didn't lynch the doctor. And I am not doing very well without nearly as much verbosity. I am eloquent and succinct in my apathetic floundering.

I never said you were avoiding the thread.  You're the top poster, and have been closely involved in every aspect - I'm not saying otherwise.  I am merely wondering why you decided to joke about whether you could take my post seriously instead of either excitement that if you worked it out with me and agreed, we have the game locked.....or anger that I'm a dumbass and about to tank the game.  Instead you chose to make a joke and proceed to start posting @ Ben instead.  I'm just curious, that's all.  :-)

Obviously I'm not avoiding the thread. The point of saying it was to suggest it's silly to think I'm not going to get around to that sooner or later (even if this is some god-tier wolf game). My immediate reaction came at seeing an argument that necessarily concluded that Tiink is more likely to be a villager than I am. Without even reading the argument that is silly short of a cop peek on him, at least from my POV, even if your conclusion is that he is likely town.

I'm not mad, I'm just not enjoying the game.

Talk to me, Ben.  What aren't you enjoying?

The long, long, long, long, long conversations between Shad/Clov about BFG that are largely over my head/make little sense to me, the long, long, long, long, long conversations between BFG and Clov about BFG that are largely over my head/make little sense to me, the fact that I'm the only one who thinks Shad is scum, not having really good reads on anybody, feeling generally drained by the game as it goes on. After wading through Shad and Clov last night, trying and failing to follow their long ramblings only to wake up to people today complaining that I'm not in the thread and so might be a wolf, I just don't have much gas left in my tank.

Sure, I'll sheep you. I don't really care much at this point. If you're a wolf, at least you've been an easy one to keep up with, and if you're town, maybe we'll get a wolf before they NK you. You go find the wolves, and I'll vote for them with you.

Just so we're clear....

1) You're going all in that Verb is town

2) You're going all in that he's right about Tink

Is this just because you're not feeling the game anymore, or do you actually read these players this way?

1) I guess.

2) I guess. I mean, his take on Tiink being town because he analyzed the votes is no weaker than the case that Tiink is a wolf because he primarily comments on the hot topic of the moment and drops it when it changes to something else. Both arguments have merit, and neither is very strong.

No wim, plus a light town lean on Verbal. I think he's more likely town than wolf, which in this game, is good enough.

As a townie, these are the things going through my mind when I caught up and read EOD.  These are the wagonomics questions that come from a townie POV - they came from mine, and I'm town so.....

This is why I asked Tiinker to provide this info and he pointed me to the exact page it was on.  I was trying to follow his process and see if I arrived at the same conclusions.  I did.

On the surface level, I agree.  The issues I have...one, it's not exactly hard to fake, and two, it didn't go anywhere.  Tink brought the concerns up a couple of different times.  He made one point about BFG from it and never said anything about me from it.

Putting it in the thread and then not doing anything with it doesn't fit with a townie mindset.

Ben, if Shad is a wolf, who is his partner? I ask because if you are town and you doubt you will get him lynched then the best thing you can do for town is try to find and lynch his partner.

Who knows? It might even link back to him.

Clovdyx or BFG. Probably Clov since they have spent so much time setting BFG up for a lynch. This is mostly gut feeling, although Clovdyx has had some oddly-edited posts, where it is clear that he was revising what he was saying and little errors resulted from it, but I edit my posts as both town and wolf, so it is not necessarily AI, but pretty much all wolves edit, so it could be a tell.

That's a fair assessment, but tbh I've done the same thing before.  I note something, call it out with my explantion/thoughts as to how I could be right, and then see what people think.  If it gains traction, we keep discussing.  If not, I keep it on the back burner.

There is nothing to say this isn't what he was doing, and like I said, town!Verbal has done this a thousand times before.

More to the point - I needed to find a couple of townies.  I can't have 4-5 people in the WTL bucket, that isn't a solve.  My method was to hunt for the 2 townies I could trust.  I had them in Ben and Sooh.  Sooh was killed, so I needed another - hence my line of questioning once I came back to the thread.

I think I found one.  That puts you 3 in the WTL bucket, but I'd love to find that last townie.

The worst scenario is I'm wrong on BOTH Ben and Tiinker, but is that probable?  Not really.  So it is quite likely that I do in fact have scum in you/BFG/Shad.  So I'm pressing forward with that thought process.

Well, knowing it's definitely not me and being comfortable enough with Shad to say that he's playing out of his mind if he's scum, I would agree.  I just don't think she's more likely than any of you three.

She can't be aligned with me.  From an outside POV, that's not the case, but I have to think it's pretty damn unlikely.  I'm the person that she's put by far the most effort into pushing, casting doubt on, arguing with, talking about - whatever you want to say.  Without checking, I would guess half of her content is directly about me.

To fit your theory, that means she HAS to be with Shad.  Ignoring my independent townread on him, it's not impossible.  But I'd still be surprised.  Shad's done a lot of wavering on her and shown progression as things come up that read as he's genuinely trying to not only assess her alignment but see if what she's saying is correct.  And a lot of the discussion has been about challenging her reads, making her elaborate/defend her stances.

Posted

As I pointed out a number of times before, he called Chris one of his top three suspects based on wagonomics and proceeded to do literally nothing with this despite Chris being the second highest poster in the game by a significant margin. Can a villager do that? Sure, villagers can do anything. Is it normal? Not really.

So, either he's been sorta bussing her from the start, or she's been doing that to you?

This was to Clov.

Gotta jet, be back either later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Are you talking about the discussion where he and I spent hours discussing her, and he was actively working against my suspicion on her?  Or the part where I expressed why what she was doing was a good sign for her alignment and said she acutally is probably town?

When nobody else in the entire game was even remotely challenging the discussion.

Also, what posts are you referring to?

Like, that's cool but not what happened. We know because we asked.

IRT Clov, I'm at home visiting family and friends so I've only had a brief time to look at the game and I used up my energy last night (at 2 am) to talk about BFG. I'll have something for you later but I wanted to reading all that last night.

Either she's spent the entire game bussing me, or he's been standing in the way of his teammate and engaging her in a way that isn't impossible to come from teammates but would be pretty unlikely (and really hard to pull off).

It wasn't a feeler it was an "oh I didn't have time"

and time restraint claims are usually honest, but you have to look at what a player is doing when they are in the thread

I don't hate this thought process, though.  If you're town, I think you're very likely to be wrong about both, but I can appreciate where this thinking comes from.

I have to go do Halloween stuffs.  I'll properly read the last few pages once the kids are in bed.  The point of my recent posts was basically the last active thing I did in this thread was thoroughly reread Tiink and I absolutely don't get how anyone can be that confident on him.

Yes, the back and forth, and I'm not going to dig them up right now. It is too easy to just say, "Yeah, I edited that because reasons." Editing a post is not concrete evidence that you're scum. Like I said, I edit some of my town posts, and I assume that other players do, too.

Posted

Oh, I'm not going to argue, or defend, or make excuses, or deny based on the post.  I don't care enough - I edit a decent number of posts as I'm writing them, and I think my luck with quoting is well documented at this point.

What I care about about is knowing you actually believe what you're saying.

Posted

Editing errors usually just indicates that an individual isn't putting extended time and care into their posts, which applies to pretty much everyone who posts a mile a minute as either slot
