I just skimmed ISO's for Verbal, Turin, and Tiinker in case I overlooked something.

-Really nothing new on Verbal. Most of his early posts were fluff with several just being about Family Guy. The bulk of his content was around initially suspecting (?) Shad because he thought the mafia claim was more likely to come from mafia and then questioning Shad for his confidence on Sooh. I wish he had either voted before leaving or been around today to work towards a vote, but I'm not surprised by it and it means nothing for his alignment IMO

-I still think the jester thing was one hell of a reach by Turin. I don't see how Sooh was obsessed with it, and nothing he said made me convinced he believed it. Him trying to move off the discussion to something else looks good, but his vote on Tiink looks like it was completely out of nowhere.

Turin - Why Tink? You said that no town should be voting you. Do you think you've done something that's particularly alignment indicative?

-Basically everything of substance that he's directly contributed was about Turin seeming weird because of the jester thing and a little bit about the analysis from Shad/Ben. He said BFG had made some odd posts and actually did produce one when I asked.

Tink - Now that you've seen where BFG was coming from with the convoluted thing, what are your thoughts on the post? And what do you think about her overall.

I've lynched Turin a few times for not being on the same brainwave as me, and it's usually wrong. I'm really hesitant to go there, at least so far.

I don't think he absolutely should be lynched. I just don't feel much anout him either way. I know my availability is pretty limited, so I feel like I haven't interacted with half the game yet. In their cases (you could throw Darthe in there too, but obviously it doesn't matter now) there wasn't as much content to look at.

Basically it starts to weird me out when players I've clicked well with as v/v in the past can't just look me in the eyes and call me a villager after a few RL days.

Welcome to my life.

Chris? Let's talk and I'll make you my village partner <3

I don't know what we should talk about, but you can pick the topic.

Was there any reason you picked Darthe?

I meant to answer this post.

I picked Darthe because he wasn't here. It was initially a vote to get his attention and get him to post, then it became a vote because he was avoiding the thread for I don't know how many hours before EOD.

In hindsight I guess it's fairly obvious that he was a townie, since nobody lifted a finger to not get him lynched. I mean, he was lynched with two votes. All it would take if he was mafia was for someone to put a second vote on somebody else, and then it would at least go to rand, but eh.

Okay. I mean, it was obviously a vote to generate activity. I just didn't know if there was a reason for Darthe over one of the other people who hadn't contributed much.

If it was specifically about people who hadn't posted near Did, that makes a lot of sense

Chris can you be specific about the similarities between matrix and spirited away?

Yes.

I was suspicious of you early (as in, first part of D1). And it because I was underwhelmed by what you had done.

All of it. You can believe or wait until I die and then post GDI Turin.

It's right there in my posts. LOL.

Seriously tho, I expect to be dead in the morning so it is basically moot.

So you think you're the towniest person here and you'll be night killed.

Noted.

Also, that feeling when you're 95% sure a post is a joke and means nothing, but a little part of you thinks it might not be a joke?

Regret. :(

What was this in reference to?

I have no idea. I thought it was to a post Ben made, but when I went back to quote it, I didn't see anything.

It might have been to Shad's post about them distancing from one another. But I really don't know anymore

Now let me go look at what I missed.

Any thoughts? What's your read on Sooh now?
just getting back into the thread. Work sucked last night.

Main thought was Eod was disappointing. DADV. That the doc died as a result makes it worse.

IRT Sooh I'm a bit torn. I don't like the Darthe vote. I think her stance on me might mean something but I am not ready to talk about that. Maybe in the morning if I'm alive still.

My Tiink vote looks OMGUS. It isn't but I don't care how it looks. There is a very specific reason I voted him and why I stated it the way I did. I'm town and I believe that most if not all townies should believe I'm town. That he voted and left it to DL signals he is questionable to me.

I will be around today but Sunday is a family day so not gonna be deep. Monday will be better I hope.

What do you think about her explanation? And who do you think would have been a better vote for anyone that isnt you?

If you're still taking notes - I don't think I've necessarily been the towniest person, and I still think there's a good chance I die tonight

Because let's be honest....

No, she's my strongest town read, and it's still fairly light. This is a tough game so far.

huh?

Have you played with wolf-BFG?

Not saying she has done stuff that makes me think she is, she's just not a strong anything-read yet for me.

So, correct me if I'm wrong here, but it feels like when BFG posts, and when she asks the questions she does, it's more because she feels like that's what town-BFG would do, and not because she wants to do it.

Like, I understand the busy part, but I'm having trouble with feeling like these catching up spurts are because she's genuinely interested or curious about solving the game.

I mean, D2 is a new chance, BFG, but that's where my head is right now regarding you.

Yes, we were scum together in the mafia parable game, and I don’t remember her asking many questions.

I didn’t say I had a strong read on her, only that she was my strongest read. I actually said that the town read on her is light.

Well defended easily defended vote of a inactive player. Doesn't say very much.

I think a better vote would have been Tiink or Ben. Or from her BFG since she seems to be voicing some suspicion in that direction.

Doing this separately because my computer just loves quoting on DM

The key for her alignment really isn't whether or not BFG is asking a lot of questions.  She's going to do that as either alignment.  I would say she probably does it more as town, but she tends to post more as town.  I can't even pretend to care enough to check percentages or something.  What matters is kind of what Sooh kind of danced around combined with what I suggested earlier - where does it go.  Town!BFG asks a lot of questions because it helps direct the game in a way where she's better able to understand people and figure alignments out.  You don't always SEE the results directly (meaning she's not going to post a big organized list of reads every 3 pages and draw arrows to show changes based on her questioning), but the questions lead somewhere.

Mafia!BFG asks questions because she's a capable scum player -  even though she hates it and is probably going to disagree me that she's even remotely competent - and knows how to replicate the generalities of her town game well enough to get by.  The conclusions she's going to make tend to be more straightforward/expected.  I think the last time I played with her when she was mafia was a game on PerC and she subbed in late D1.  I was burying one of her teammates.  People were asking for her thoughts on me on D2, and she gave out a pretty confident town read because Town!BFG knows I'm not going to drive a lynch on my own teammate for no reason and Mafia!BFG knows that Town!Chris knows that Town!BFG knows that.  If she had acted hesitant around me, I would have crucified her.  Instead, I crucified her other teammate.  She had no choice but to "read" me as town.  As town, she'll still give her reads and stick to them if they're the obvious ones, but she produces more against the grain/questionable (not really the word I want to use) reads as town.

Posted

The number of people she's asking questions to is probably more important than the number of questions she's asking.  I stopped paying attention in Parable after I subbed out, but just skimming over her ISO, it doesn't look like she had a ton of interactions with everyone.  She interacted with most players in Spirited Away as scum, but there was a good percentage that was focused on Cory/me (Cory actually pointed this out on N1, I think, about how she had little interest in the game beyond satisfying the two of us).

It's a little hard to assess here because there haven't been a ton of times when most everyone was here, but looking at yesterday, she seemed to talk to Shad/Sooh/Ben/me quite a bit.  Verb and Darthe weren't in the thread at all, Tinker was gone for most of it, Turin wasn't in the thread.

That's a pretty good look, and it looks like she was at least trying to expand on things when she got answers from Ben and me.

Sooh, if you're around, can you elaborate on the Turin = weird town thing?  I wanted to go back and check some of the games I had played with him to see if I felt the same way.  Turns out I've actually only played a single night phase (plus about four hours of day phase) when he was town.  Every other time I've played with him, he was mafia.

Somehow I managed to turn going to review that little part of Hallia's Star Wars game I was alive for with Turin into an hour and a half trip down completely irrelevant games and deadthreads.  Ironically, it was a complete waste of time because Turin made a grand total four posts while I was alive.  And he was hydraed with somebody I was strongly townreading pretty much the entire time I was playing.

And people wonder why I stopped doing homework for these games

It doesn't go much deeper than that I'm afraid. I have a recollection of old meta, but it has been a while since I played with Turin, so I can't really be more specific. I just seem to remember that whenever I felt like Turin was doing weird things that didn't make sense to me, he would flip town, and when he was being more reasonable and pursuing things that were really strange in games he was mafia.

Okay.  From what I can recall in the other games I played with him, I think I remember his pushes being a little out there - not completely off the wall, but things I probably wouldn't have gone after - but I don't know how much of that was because he was scum in them or that's just his style of play and the kind of things he pays attention to.

Lol, we've played twice(?) in 6 months and I've misread you in both

It's going to take a few days to feel comfortable with a read

That's fine generically and still weird to me in terms of like

I am aggressively standing here saying HEY BFG WHY AM I NOT OBVIOUS TO YOU YET

And I could do that as scum, again generically

But would I, really? Does it even need to be a meta thing? Like how many wolves do this? Doesn't it eventually just go ding ding ok yeah you're probably town.

Like I got into this with Cass last time she was a wolf and she kept referring back to yeah but there was this one thing you said once that was kind of weird so I just don't knoooowwwww

As if the conversation in the present isn't read relevant.

Tell me why I might still be a wolf.

This post amuses me for dumb reasons :P

In short you could be a wolf because I don't think/know you're out of scum range. Gun to head you're probably town because at a superficial level there are things that I think are more likely from town!you (shouting for s town read is one of them, but is tempered by an early post when you also thought you should be town read near the start of the claim!scum thing and if that was serious then it waters the later demand down. I also remember making the 'shad is town because he struggles to lead as mafia in magic' so without (a lot) more work the generic reasons to read you town don't hold as much water as i'd like

In short I'll town read you when I'm comfortable doing so, but that is not now

And I am not Cass

You mean this on p5?

Ok so who doesn't think I'm a villager yet really?

lol

The Cass reference wasn't some sort of direct meta comparison. I don't think it should even come across as that really? But this argument is getting boring. I'll obviously ISO you if I'm alive in two hours.

In general I don't think it's a time-in-thread issue. I mean you're the fourth highest poster in the game and I've never felt like you were missing in a glaring sort of way.  I just don't feel like you're talking to me in a direct and natural way.  But maybe that's just a you and me in this game thing and I need to refresh myself on the broader perspective.

Like drawing a connection between "Hey guys I'm a wolf" next post "So who doesn't think I'm an obvious villager, really?" 30 seconds into a game and our recent exchange just feels really shallow to me.
