Blippity bloo blah, doing a reread between classes. I greatly appreciate the fact that the joke phase lasted just three pages. Less stuff to skim past with my eyes glazed over. So, what do we have...

DPR throw some sus at Rand, Hallia concurs:

I had more colorful options in mind

Hehe I know, but I forgot what this sub's rules on swearing was and too much time on Reddit has made me loosen up, so I'm remaining ultra conservative for now :P

Can we lynch verb now? Blindlynching him is weirdly and yet unsurprisingly arousing.

I'm definitely agreeing with the unsurprisingly part here

Unsurprising that Rand is scum again.

Verb will have to wait...

[v] Rand [/v]

Cloudflared. Didn't post the first time and it gave me a moment to have some coffee and realize that nobody is unaware of DM's policy regarding swearing. Nervous scumposting is what it smells like.

I didn't catch that initially, but it does cine off as awkward...hmm.

It's Miller time.

All jokes aside, one of these is scum.

My take on it is that if there is scum there, it's more likely to be Sooh. The other two votes read as genuine jokes, particularly DPR's. Anyhow, DPR responds:

But seriously, let's back up.  Tell me why that hunch of mine is so bad.  Really.

We're on D1, page 3, and up until my real vote on Rand, I'm pretty sure we've been looking at joke votes.

My "Miller time" comment was obviously a joke.

And, you gave no reason for calling us scum.

But you are pulling the attention off of my vote on Rand.

Verbal seems to agree with me about Sooh's vote, so she throws down some ATE in response:

Idk what it is, but there's something about Verbal's reaction to being voted that seems over the top to me. It almost reminds me of Zander's reactions to the slightest bit of doubt and pressure. I suppose it could be from coming off of another game just recently though.

DPR tunneled on me all game long, literally.  This post of yours serves zero purpose other than to slighly nudge at me and give yourself an out by referencing another game.

No bueno.

Yes, I'll just stop saying what I think then, and just shy away in the corners because whatever I say is "an excuse" or "an out".

Fun game.

Yeah, Sooh doesn't look good to me so far. Then Adella chimes in to agree with Verb:

*popcorn*

thoughts on their vote and my reaction?
I actually agree with the initial thought. It's too good of an opportunity to Lynch a (possible) townie for scum to not slip a vote in there without actually looking guilty since it was a joke by multiple people.

But it's a vote train on you, so I have to take it with a grain of salt.

If it wasn't the beginning of D1 I would agree with you.
The beginning of D1 is the only real time to place a joke vote and get away with it.
So you really can't tell then, until people have started moving their votes.

This is true, but a train of 3 people right out of the gate is a bit suspicious, generally day 1 votes are more spread out at first. I'm definitely not going to try to Lynch anyone based on their pile onto Verb, but I absolutely agree with him that there is likely to be scum in that train.

And I'll make a separate post for the last page since I haven't read it yet. But first, I second this question. Votes that come in their own post always always always deserve explanation. Scratch that, votes in general always deserve explanation.

[v]Adella[/v]

Care to say why?

Two things here

First of all, I remember the term ATE, but what does it mean again?

Secondly, apparently Adella did acknowledge your vote Sooh... did you miss a chunk of pages where other people acknowledged it too?  Or were you trying to portray something as Adella didn't acknowledge it?

Rand - Two questions.

1) What gave you good vibes about Hallia?

2) Why do you think it's a bad sign that Adella is town reading people?

1) The way she defended Verbal's actions.  I have a town read on Verbal as of right now, and am definitely sure that I don't see his actions as scummy, so someone defending that logically, in the exact same way I would've, clicked with me as someone else who would also be town.

2) Not just town reading people, but town reading people off of seemingly innocuous posts.  Makes me think that she might just be trying to gain some trust and following in the town group (which is what gave me more of a town read on Nynaeve).  That combined with everything else seemed to be odd.

Sooh's explanation of her vote is ??? to me.  I can't fathom putting THAT much thought into a what's, for all intents and purposes, a completely meaningless vote.

*shrug* It was my thoughts at the time and I shared them.

What other thoughts do you have?

That I need a longer break from mafia.

Rand? What d'you say?

I mean, I'm aware of it haha, and I reread it, that's why I was careful about what I said.  I've just gotten in a bad habit of swearing a lot more off DM, and I forgot how strict DM was with the rules.

I can see why you'd think about that, scum likes to hop on bandwagons, but hopping onto a joke bandwagon on D1 doesn't have any real potential in it for scum, they're not going to actually get enough joke votes to lynch someone.  Again though, doesn't come off as scummy, more beating the grass again.  Glad you said this though, because it got this game up and going fast.

I think that's a bit of a stretch considering the stage if the game, verb. This isn't jn and you werent really at risk of getting lynched...

Thank god this isn't jn, I wanted to play a quality game of mafia :P

Idk what it is, but there's something about Verbal's reaction to being voted that seems over the top to me. It almost reminds me of Zander's reactions to the slightest bit of doubt and pressure. I suppose it could be from coming off of another game just recently though.

I've seen people do this to Verb a bunch of times.  He's reacting the same way pretty much that he always does, I don't see any overreaction here.  *Yours* on the other hand though, does seem a bit much, I don't see what he did to annoy you.

Yisss, first positive vibes for me, iirc this is exactly what Verbal does, and its not out of the norm.  This seems like a vague way of pointing some blame at Verbal.

First.

... to be last? :P

I agree with scummy #11

I initially thought this was good for Adella, but after reading through the later parts of this thread, this seems more like bandwagoning onto good opinions to me.  Not too much yet, just a slight vibe.

I mean on a normal day, sure.

I took the "more die die die" comment to mean anyone. Why? Are you only interested in hanging townies?

Hi Ben.  So, quick question.  How did you know I was a townie?

That would be a Rand level screw up right there.  Not sure if just teasing Nynaeve or a Freudian slip, but maybe a guy to keep an eye out on.

*Popcorn intensifies*

These were both terrible :/ I feel almost sure that one of you is mafia at this point for this alone, this was the perfect type of potential slip up that wasn't really one that mafia would jump onto.  Normally that would make me think Ben was more town, but its also possible that he really did slip up and they didn't want to be seen defending him.  So basically, still the same read on Ben, but I feel good about at least one of Adella and Hally being mafia.

My reaction is that this feels like redirection. I admit that DPR's push was weak, but he did in fact explain it. Rand just asking a question that's already been answered and then rushing on to other topics is pinging me. Also, his content so far reads a lot like my own content last game (when I was scum, btw): It's a lot of agreeing with the most active players and throwing out a weak sus just to look the part. Not a good look for him so far.

Sooh dont mentally check out if you're town.

You know I have more wim than that. I'll get there, just maybe not tonight. I've got about 48 hours though, so I'll work on it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was the first one to flesh out a case against Adella, Sooh kinda just voted without really explaining.  Even now, I believe I'm still the strongest pusher on her, even though there really aren't any strong pushes right now.  This is the exact opposite of a weak sus, idk where you're getting that read.
