And Amegakure did it in Hackers.

 

The precedence is definitely there.

Thoughts on Tig at this stage - not enough actual game-related thoughts from her ITT; the *stares suspiciously* at Shanti is possibly off-kilter given that she said Shanti + Pep isn't sus to her specifically, circles about her only relating the comment to Peg + Cat after I mentioned it. Don't hate her questioning me, but it initially bothered me that the quote she uses doesn't have the whole story/all her responses.

 

Re-reading, could just be a cross in our wires since in my mind the focus was on me asking her if she found extra pep a bad thing wrt Shanti since she called it out, and the way she quotes it she's reading it as me correcting her that Shanti was peppy.

 

TLDR Null/Need moaarrr thoughts.

You just picked up a shovel in my eyes, there DPR. You were looking good but now you're defending someone I am 100% sure is scum, and attempting to turn things around on me. Not a good look at all.

 

They are both comfortable with their posts. Neither of them is taking part in the "extra" conversation, or trying to make conversation.

 

So far, Shad Case and BFG are steering the game. Dice has had a bit of influence and you've posted quite a bit.

 

The difference between their posts and yours is that you don't seem to be pushing an agenda and sticking your neck out, if you are scum, won't work out later in the game.

 

It's easy to get all caught up in the posting, but what is actually being contributed and by whom? Early int eh game, a townie who doesn't know much is more valuable to the town by not posting a bunch of spec.

His absence IS disturbing, but having CuthaNyn in the thread, actively posting, but saying nothing but scummy things imo looks much worse. Maybe Alf has a very good reason for being absent, maybe he doesn't..until I find out one way or another, I'm going to use what I do have to make a decision and my decision is CuthaNyn is 100% scum.

CuthaNyn- Really kind of hitting a wrong button for me. Cuth could almost lean town for me, but seems extremely noncommittal, however put both iso together and read as one, comes off very scummy to me. *Shrug* I need to see more substance but I want to lean null right now. Only reason for that is Cuth's questioning peoples' reads and thoughts.

IMO, Town Shad would have looked at Dice as scum aiming for a mislynch and Scum Shad defends the comment made about him.

It's like a running joke except on his end it's not a joke.

 

I don't recall him ever doing it as scum and in the past he's been generally avoidant of me, but he's successfully pocketed me enough lately that it doesn't really carry weight at this point.

 

More like it's a stupid line for him to pick on in general but I know from experience it's not inherently scummy.

Nyn has literally contributed zero when it boils down to it, but has posted quite a bit.

So, you've played as mafia with both and are comfortable in your estimation that they are playing within their scum range? Neither of these players enjoys playing as scum, but their posts in this game so far are relaxed - not forced and not "trying to make a contribution" so as to hide in the crowd.

I noted that a previous post of yours was bad and this goes along with it. In short, you are using my meta to create distraction. IMO, Town BFG looks past an absent player and focuses on the play that inferences can be drawn from. You've chosen 2 posts about me to push the "trepidation", and that's just offering distraction to the game instead of townish game solving.

 

I don't get it. How is this post a distraction from anything? There was literally nothing more that could be said of your slot D1 beyond "you aren't here and that's null".

@Shanti DPR believes that effort is scummy and a good villager just sits back and lets wolves run the show. 

 

Probably a harsh characterization but that's the best I've been able to make of him over our first few games. 

 

Oh, I don't think this is particularly harsh - but it's not accurate.

 

You see, what DPR really believes is that when detectives go to a crime scene, they wear gloves - this is so they don't leave finger prints everywhere, so as to make it easier to see who the bad guys are.

 

Same principle applies to the game - a well-meaning townie can do lots and lots of damage just by posting lots spec and fluff. They wind up being a distraction, sowing confusion and are easy to steer toward a mislynch. When I'm scum, I'll always look for a bleater to pinch - makes my job a lot easier. 

 

The negative take on me is noted however. It's a nice way to not answer my question to you regarding Alfred.

It's a distraction in that it gets people thinking about me before I had even really showed up yet, as you point out above.

 

By implying that I could be scum, it takes people's minds off of other player's content, which is what they should be concentrating on. I used the term "distraction" because "fear-mongering" would have been too strong, but it's the same principal.
