I just looked up his stats in the database, and I realized the only time I've played with Mafia!seph was TUS...where everybody was scum, and I got shot N1.  

 

Because apparently every other team thought killing CloFG N1 would be cute.

Sadly I usually only roll vanilla Rands when I am town. That or phoenix haha. I'm 2 for 2 when there is a phoenix itg.

 

If someone wants to run a game and secretly just rand me scum I am down lol

It has nothing to do with whether I think my game has been alignment indicative. I know my alignment, I know he's right...so it's an issue of TMI, or a correct read for reasons that even I don't feel very good.

 

And bold - not really.  He's townread me more when I was scum than when I was town (at least ~recently, not sure about older games).

 

Basically "There's something shifty about this guy town reading me out the gate; he usually thinks I'm a wolf" speaks for itself.  I don't remind myself of my own alignment as part of my processing when I am a villager.  Vs if I'm not a villager, I might be more inclined to emphasize it.  I'm probably just being a silly squirrel.

Yup, I wasnt. The lynch votes tied, or they let it no lynch I forget. And the whole game was random and I was picked.... salty af.

It was the mods choice and rules which I chose to participate so its w/e. But there isn't anything I can think of in mafia that's more aggrivating

That's understandable.  As the game picks up it will hopefully become more apparent.  The goal if you're town is obviously to try to figure out who's lying, and at this stage a lot of the speculation in that regard is based on fairly flimsy/trivial things.

Understandable Google is very helpful imo. But I'm going to post a few things from my 1st mafia game, hopefully tress doesn't mind as she was my mentor ;)

I was a vanilla town that game so in some regard is playing without a power role which some people will have

For reference, Day 1 of a new mafia game there are usually a couple of things that will happen - a lot of times someone will nitpick at very small things and try to build a case on them and convince others to vote that way... most of the time this is just to get discussion started and get reactions. They may be looking at how the person they are accusing is reacting to see if they appear to be over-defensive or nervous, or they may be watching the people that go along with what is obviously bad reasoning to find out who is being an opportunist.

 

As a vanilla town it's not too big of a deal to get lynched D1 - especially if it helps get good reactions from people. Never just roll over and say "ok fine", but try to give your opinions of who is acting suspicious and why you think so, that gives people more to go on.

 

I am usually a pretty quiet player day 1, I do more reading and thinking early in the day phase and near the deadline I'll make a decision about who to vote, and try to give my impression of EVERYONE's play so far. The more you talk, the more information people will have to work with, though, so if you don't have any specific reason to NEED to live don't be afraid to say what's on your mind. People might give you a hard time about something you say, or how you say it, but if you are being honest it'll still help,and it will give them a better idea of what to expect from you next time around.

 

And don't keep quiet just because you're afraid to be wrong. Townies are often wrong in mafia games, because we don't have as much information as the mafia does. And if you die, you'll be vindicated.

Next game try to get someone to mentor you so they can help you or answer any questions you a have!

In other news, I had an insane Widow game assaulting King's Row today.  4/6 head shots from the balcony within seconds of the doors opening, we pushed clean to the finish line before they could ever really regroup.

I've host a few games. Two of them were a bit unique. Some players had more than one life, so even if they were Lynched or NKed, there would be no coroner info and they played on. It was interesting.
