  1. I always felt part of the problem was RJ was going through his treatment yet felt he owed it to the fans to give them something. So those books always seemed like set up books for later books.
  2. I just think if it was true that RJ would've left it in some notes, Time runs different, but you can't be living in the dream world and walking about in the real world at the same time.
  3. It would be impossible for Cain to be Olver. Regardless of time running different in the dream world, Cain's soul can't be in the dream world as his body is walking about in the real world for years. Just like Elayne's kids will be born too late to be Cain. Even in the Companion there is no mention of Olver/Cain being the same.
  4. People also forget Dem was partially insane by this point, Moghi mentioned how he had changed since being around the Sharans. He had been using the True Power a lot and one of the side effects is insanity. He couldn't use the male half around them, so he had to rely on the True Power. Suffering from partial insanity would explain some of his behavior at the end.
  5. Just not sure if WOT can ever be adapted properly to the screen. To me it suffers from what a lot of books suffer from when someone tries to make a movie or series from it. Books can go into so much more detail that a series can't. I think there is simply too much explaining that needs to be done that there isn't time to do on the screen. The dream world, Aiel war, the Horn, heroes of the Horn, Aiel, AOL, the Dragon, wolf dreams, Forsaken, one power, male half, female half etc. Even Perin is a lot of internal dialogue which doesn't work well on the screen. Game of Thrones was made in mind with it finally going to a series on TV. WOT wasn't. I'm just not sure with the time constraints of TV series that is could ever be done properly.
  6. It was like thy won't kill anyone, ohh damn they killed Uno in the most brutal way. Then they made him a hero and pretty much ruined the death.
  7. Uno's death was classic.
  8. Time limitations and wasted time are some of the shows biggest issues, if they had to cut 10 minutes then they might not have been able to spend an entire episode to a warder who was going to die at the end. Or toss Egwene into a river.
  9. That is the big problem, 10 minutes of a 1-hour show setting up just what's going on?
  10. I like the prologue but I just don't think it would've worked for the series. Had they stayed closer to the book an opening scene of Tam and Rand heading to town and Rand seeing the Fade would've been a creepy way to start things. The foretelling would've been a nice flashback for when Moiraine explains to him what he is or when SIuan was giving her speech before she died.
  11. I know I have heard Warhammer rumors before, seems like an expensive project. It also mentioned Amazon plans to offer ROP for syndication.
  12. I just read that Amazon is looking to make a Warhammer 40k series. The speculation is this is part of the reason WOT was canceled as Amazon didn't wish to pay so much for another fantasy middle age type series. This would have their series spread out with ROP, Fallout, Reacher then Warhammer 40k. ROP was signed for 5 seasons so they can't nix that, plus as it described ROP gives Amazon much more in the way of possible spin off chances. Something WOT was limited in unless they wished to do the New Spring book.
  13. I always saw the alternate worlds as the pattern's failsafe device, so there will always be a pattern etc since there are so many alternate realities. If Ishy got a hold of a powerful device and went around balefiring everyone in reality 1 there are other places where people still live. Rand's flickers if I remember right involved his never declaring himself the dragon so he isn't there to oppose the DO. if every decision you make can cause a different reality then it makes sense there are places the DO won.
  14. Well not looking good, there is an article that says that "The Wheel of Time not being shopped to other networks after cancellation". The Wheel of Time not being shopped to other networks after cancellation My guess is it's just seen as being too expensive for any other network to really want to pursue, will it bring in enough new viewers to make it worthwhile? I mean I couldn't really see Sony or Amazon saying no if someone like Apple stepped up with a good offer. But seems like not much effort on Sony or Amazon to sell it and not much effort by other services to acquire it. To be honest I thought WOT was ok, not great. I wouldn't subscribe Apple just to see WOT.
  15. I'm just pointing out the Tolkien estate hates the Jackson movies to the pint that ROP was forbidden to use anything from the movies or even reference the movies. Fans might've liked the movies, but the Tolkien estate didn't like his changes.
  16. The Tolkien estate would disagree with your take on Peter Jackson doing a better job. They hated what he did, thus their refusal to let ROP use anything from the movies. As Elder has been pointed out to include the Green Man, untainted Saidin, etc would've been confusing. Look at how bad they did with setting up the Horn and why it mattered. When the horn was blown it was sort of confusing as to why this thing was important. I thought they did a good job with Shadar Logoth and The Ways.
  17. 8 episodes, so a lot had to be trimmed, that's not to say they didn't waste a lot of the time that they did have but things like the green man, 2 forsaken (who didn't do much of anything), Camelyn, white bridge etc had to get trimmed.
  18. There are only few souls that get spun out and will perform heroic deeds or are linked LLT/Ishy are connected Brigette/ Giadal, heroes of the horn. Though they can lead ordinary lives. Brigette mentions once being a farmer's wife and it being the most boring thing ever. I'm guessing you can get spun out multiple times a cycle. Since a cycle might be a 1000 years, there is a good chance you might get spun out again and again. Hero of the Horn doesn't always mean you will be a great person. Hawkwing mentions fighting LTT numerous times. They are just usually destined for big things. RJ said the forsaken are different each time, since it would be against free will if you always were forced to team evil. But the ordinary person can get spun out over and over and maybe do something big but chances are just lead regular lives.
  19. By then Skynet will have taken over.
  20. Crowdfund it, I mean Star Citizen has raised over $800 million, sure 14 years later it's still not done. But if fans tossed in a few million maybe,
  21. I see the tone as being really dark, just look at season 3 the wedding massacre, how Morgase took the throne. People being burnt at the stake, watching a grey man get made, ummm what happened to Samm. Or first season Perin killing his wife, Mats dad a drunken womanizer, or what the tinkers were going to be. It's not all bad but to me they clearly took it to a darker place.
  22. I think a little evidence about Rafe saying this might be needed.
  23. They won't get enough sadly, it would take a couple of million or so to get them to change their minds. 180,000 people saying save this show is small when the first two seasons alone cost around $256 million. Not to mention the studio head that signed WOT was ousted and the new studio head has been talking about streamlining. With Rafe saying he would need at least 6 seasons to really tell the story and having ROP for three more years I think really sealed WOT's fate. They wouldn't want to pay for both WOT and ROP for three more seasons.
  24. GOT clearly had a huge influence, hence the darker tone of the series, In season 1 BS said he had to talk them out of making the Tinkers darker, he had to explain to them that was the exact opposite of what RJ had the Tinkers being. I think there are many who think to make a series they need to follow the GOT model just like so many games tried to be World of Warcraft.
  25. It was so those who hadn't read the books would think maybe it could be Nyn or Egwene. They were hoping to keep some suspense
