I think you are over exaggerating the situation to make a really specific point about men. A better question would be how many female readers either identified with or knew someone like Faile and didn't find them a bad person. Saldean culture had very specific gender roles and scripts. Faile was always strongly in love and commited to Perrin but was confounded by his behavior that didn't match how men she admired growing up acted. Basically both of them had to gain relationship experience and operate within their partners expectations. Also I never perceived Faile as an excuse for any kind oof bad behavior. Perrin was not distant partner. Faile was not a shrew.

That is a really good question. My female friend who read WoT with me long time ago loved Faile so maybe some women didnt find her horribly written/toxic. It also could greatly be a generational and class thing also. The book cannon here has been discussed to death for 30 years without a significant media challenger. I think the first season being viewed as inferior, the mystery box writing, and people questioning reasons behind changes have all contributed. There also wasnt culture wars with semi professional critics leading the charge against changes. Maybe with Tolkien there was. I think if WoTprime stays entertaining people will except alternate cannon.

I have been married to someone very similar to Faile for 30 years. I have had a far happier marriage than most people I know. My wife also had a background, experiences, and lack of experiences that made our relationship bumpy at times. I would not change anything about her if I also had to change her fierce commitment to me. Some people definately shouldn't be together. But many people just need to find the person they love and grow past baggage that they had no control over acquiring.

I was thinking about the cycle. I loved all the prophecy in books. Having some prophecy read over the season 1 intro would have been nice or a crawl of prophecy somewhere. or just put a bunch in the xray as blocks of text.

I think this is the important part that has been hard to figure out. I agree that Amazon is not making its shows primarily as a commercial enterprise currently. So as a vanity project it wants positive press and awards probably. I think RoP really blew its chance the first season. WoT has much better potential to achieve that goal with 2nd season. The decision to make adaptation more progressive was probably also to court press and awards more than to appeal to widest audience. So audience metrics may be pretty low marker for deciding how long show runs.

Its being pretty nit picky but the show just got the green fields and spring dress by Siuan and Moraine wrong. I assume because they wanted a light mood while they flirted. Aiel war ended in winter. Rand was born in roughly December. Tar Valon is fairly far north in Westlands. Sure there may not be snow in lowlands but that grass would be almost all brown. At top of White Tower it would be quite chilly even on a sunny day. In New Spring Lan's last battle before Aiel withdrew it was very cold. When Mo and Siuan went out to collect birth info it was very cold. Not a big deal but an error.

I really like Alanna and warders if not much of their season 2 story arc. But Amazon does seem to be making a marketing push in South Asia and a warder is dating the boss irl.

That Siuan line was really rough. If Dragon was female could she even fix the seal on bore since it was created by male channelers. Also the whole blood on the rocks of Shayol Ghoul gets creepy real quick.

That is really the truth. I have a job that affords me probably 20 hours of watching per week if I really wanted to do so. But I get overwhelmed with options and just dont. This weekend I will probably knock out most of new Castlevania season so my sons can over discuss it with me next week. So when will we know if season 3 is a reality. All of my kids have access to all 3 through my accounts. They do watch some stuff on Prime and frequently rent things through Prime. That may be a good point though because Netflix is probably most accessed because son in law is Asian. Daughter is learning Korean and they watch tons of Asian content on Netflix. I genuinely am asking if their is a buzz I have just missed? I like show enough to want to have a few more seasons and can't guage much from what Prime releases as to its success.

I am the last person on planet to ask about current buzz worthy items. I do have 2 adult children with spouses that should be prime audience Rafe's version was targetting. I also have 3 teen sons with lots of geeky friends. I hear about HotD, Witcher, One Piece lots. Nothing about WoT. Is show creating a buzz in certain places? The fragmentation of society and entertainment makes it feel like big budget mass audience water cooler shows are probably going to be super rare even if quality of show is there.
