  1. Yet a woman who had never channeled herself before did when surprised.
  2. You won't accept it so i will engage with your reasons. Need. So the sitters had no need. They were in as much need as Daise if not more. 1,2,5 Both were surprised, shocked and panicked, If anything Daise would be far more likely to be affected than a group of heavily trained and practiced sisters. 3 Daise would definitely not know the weave. All those sitters had no specialty in that area and an untrained day one channeler does. 4 No idea the magic system is woefully under explained but it would seem unlikely that the brand new channeler is a unicorn for shield making as opposed to some of the most powerful channelers in the Tower. 6 They were doing little of either. No answer I give you will change your mind. Remember this was not my argument others used it against me arguing it as the reason why the sitters could not make shields was no training and no practice.
  3. Well if you are making the collar irrelevant then the moment Egwene believed Renna could channel then she could have attacked her as she is simply uncollared.
  4. The rest of the post was not required to answer. A number of people stated that the reason the sitters could not erect shields was lack of practice and lack of training. Your excuses for why are irrelevant because they are not the argument these other people made. Your assertion that it was my bias and dismissing me on that basis was relevant and is why I posted that part of the comment in in quote. The others argued for that not me. I feel it is relevant to bring it up when you see a complete untrained character produce that skill which centuries old masters are incapable of. Maybe you might want to check your hostility to me a bit and think about it.
  5. That is not how that works. Renna is still Sul'Damane because of the bracelet. Being Damane does not cancel out the other. The very fact that she would accept the feedback loop is evidence that she is subject to the rules of the A'dam and thus Damane.
  6. Exactly the same as Alanna's shield in the previous episode when the the bolts kept breaking holes in the shield.
  7. One of the arguments people used when defending the scene was that the sitters did not know how to shield themselves and years with no practice left them unable to do it, you are now claiming that my bringing it up after a completely untrained first day channeler managed to form a shield is me being purely biased. Come on.
  8. However that does not account for why the sitters failed to be able to make shields which many attributed to the fact that they had not been trained to do so in relation to the tower battle scene.
  9. What? When Egwene put the collar on Renna they became linked in the manner of Sul'Damane and Damane running in both directions. This has nothing to do with the Seachan view on the linkage it is purely the mechanics of the linkage. Egwene by the mechanics of being Damane cannot channel the power without permission. So for her to use the power she must Use the Sul'Damane mechanic. Egwene using the one power hangs Renna. Egwene is choked at the same time Renna is hanged by the mechanic of being Damane to her Sul'Damane. Egwene as Damane should not be capable of attacking Renna by the mechanic of being Damane to her Sul'Damane. The scene makes no sense by the mechanics of the collars. The viewpoint of the Seachan in regard to Damane does not matter.
  10. When Egwene collars Renna she is both Sul'Damane and Damane, If she is not Sul'Damane she cannot touch the source without permission or use Renna power.. If she is not Damane she would not be choked by Renna being choked.
  11. They are both as shown by Egwene being choked as Renna's Damane.
  12. I'm not sure using star wars is that great an example anymore as light saber wounds are now constantly shrugged off.
  13. The pitcher is not normally a weapon she had to convince herself that after she thought of it as one that she would never imagine using it as one again. How are you going to convince yourself that hanging is not an attack especially as she intended to kill her. The fact that the collar was still working to strangle Egwene seems to indicate that it was still functioning as if she was collared so the thought of using the collar to attack should have been impossible.
  14. No ones ever really gone.
  15. Any change in feeling now we know that Daise Congar a first time channeler can insta cast a shield as her very first use of the power. Surely experienced channelers would be better than a woman who found out she could channel the day before and had never embraced the source by herself before that day.
  16. Well I am seriously hoping that they look at the fact that episode 4 was clearly the best received in this season if not the entire series and change course. Outside this I hope the show is cancelled as it is not good enough to warrant continuing.
  17. LOL She convinced herself that hanging someone was not an attack. They broke the rules it was not some clever ruse they simply broke the rules. Which say it together class makes it bad writing.
  18. Anyone want to have a chat about episode 1's battle in the tower now and how sitters could not produce shields because they were not trained to do so. Daise bloody Congar just produced a shield as her first channeling ability and it was insta cast as well!
  19. Sloppy amateur garbage. Nearly impossible to tell what the hell was going on in the battle scenes, Dark scenes, jump cuts, characters seemingly teleporting into different positions. Impossible to tell which side was doing what. Despite all that and probably a sad point is that this was probably the best battle scene the show has produced. Easily better than the garbage ones in season 1 and it's a toss-up between it and the end of season 2. The obsession with maidens kiss needs to end. RIP Burger King. Bloody healing and pin cushion Alanna Please bloody stop with the Maksim and Alanna drivel end it now.
  20. Look I am fine if they wanted to make that the first point in his luckiness being seen in the show (although a few dice games would be more appropriate than a major item being discovered would be better IMO). What I objected to is everyone in the in the thread relentlessly saying Mat is supernaturally lucky as to the reason why when to this point the show has not shown even one clear example of it being actually the case, if you were watching the show with zero book knowledge in no way would you consider Mat had more luck than any other character. At the moment it is entirely possible that the show will use the redstone doorway to give Mat his luck as one of their gifts. Which would mean he does not have that ability at this time. You may feel like it is a common theme in my posts but the show has been terrible at explaining just about everything.
  21. The first part is more my belief that he may not have been invading the boys dreams in the book but rather drawing them to some type of meeting place with him. The later just lists some things that I think are suggestive that in the books he required some assistance to lock onto them with more precision apart from the fact that he could not achieve any contact with them before Fain returned to the 2 rivers which I think considering the timing is a far stronger conclusion than the others.
  22. I'm going to vote for Pedro Pascal as he is in every show and movie at the moment so it's a strong chance.
  23. I think some of the confusion is she actually says Great lords own luck and not the dark ones. Dool is incorrect.
  24. I also think it's possible or probable that he was not in fact invading their dreams. I think he may have been more drawing them to him in a manner, remember near the end he has the 3 figures on the table and Mat picks up the one holding the dagger and it is only after that he grabs his own figure does Ishy say so that is who you are and the figures face becomes the same as his. This suggests to me that he is not clear on who is who and he is drawing all of them to him. If he was invading their dreams I would think the visions would be clear. We never get an Ishy PoV but that Mat interaction might suggest he does not see them clearly like the boys see him. So in essence Fain goes and recognizes all 3 boys. Ishy has descriptions of the boys from Fain. It is only through Fains(or maybe the fades) proximity that he is able to establish a link to their dreams but he still does not know which dream is which boy. As he is still partially trapped. The timing of his interaction with the boys in the dream world being directly after Fain arrives seems too coincidental to be anything but causal. Additional Focus narrows after Fain meets them in 2 rivers Gode at 4 Kings Fain/Beggar gets close to Rand in Camelyn Fain arrives at Fal Dara (Ingtar as well) After each of these they have the dream with the room and fireplace (sorry Gode is in the 4 Kings Inn but still more than just the chase). Most of the others I believe are them being chased in the maze or the mirror type areas.
  25. Sorry to pop this comment up again but it has really been nagging at me. Are you seriously saying that you don't think the fact he is in a relationship with the showrunner might have had something to do with him getting the part? Have you looked at his filmography it is over a dozen years is very small and consists of almost entirely shorts and bit pieces in parts of TV shows. The highest rated piece is a half run in a youtube production with 6 min episodes ( the 2 I watched are terrible and not even the best actor in the world would have made a difference) For anyone that wanted a look at a young Napier or to watch the terrible program. This is the first episode he is in at the start of the 2nd season. I am judging his acting purely on what I see as the lack of skill he has in the WoT show. I feel that to date his filmography largely backs this up.
