Also verbal not coming back since early this morning feels bad.  Like I get that the thread is 40+ pages long and could absolutely just be an overwhelmed towny.   Can anyone give me any meta on them and if this is normal?

Ngl I read for hours last night and skimming happened in certain parts so I did miss that about Voodoo. I’ll ingest it now but it really doesn’t change much about how I see them currently

 

Theyve both said that about each other which I don’t think is particularly helpful here. I mentioned earlier there’s one iteration of Dice v/Hallia w that I remember the strongest but she’d have better memory of her own experiences than I would. I think it could be a genuine feeling from her though.

 

I’m not really picking up salty vibes from Dice? Who has said he’s playing similar to last game? I think Darthe’s post where he talks about Dice’s playstyle and votes Hally is a good one to reference. I don’t think Dice has shot himself out of scum range yet but I think this approach is definitely something he’d do as town too. In Fireball he buried his vote on Sinister D1 after the fact where I think he’s more proactive here. It’s a small difference but that’s how I’m seeing it 

 

I think a couple people pointed out his entrance and early posts were salty.  I know SD said dice was playing the same, I can't remember if Cory said something similar?  I'd have to go back and check.  I don't really expect SD to have a strong grasp on similar play, but also no one else refuted it that I recall outside of you so idk.

Yeah, I do remember that game and I felt really bad about what happened after he had probably one of the best doc saves I've seen.

Voodoo didn't know about wolfchat, which makes sense when their first and only game had one wolf.  The only thing that gives me pause was the fact that the whole thing with SD happened a few hours before that.

Dice said hallia likes to target him for misyeets, do you think that's a fair assessment?

Also, do you think Dice is more or less likely to be salty after randing mafia 2 games in a row?  I'm just having some cognitive dissonance here between people saying Dice is playing the same as last game where he was a wolf and not getting a lot out of what he's posted so far, but you saying he seems more towny than not.

I was trying to understand where you were coming from with dice and if it was a reasonable take to have.  Of the the three wagons, I had felt okay about leelou, though like you, the early town read was based mostly on tone and I felt like they just hadn't been as present even when they were here.  I was a little surprised you didn't have voodoo higher tbh.  I realize you might have written it before voodoo basically spewed themselves town and/or maybe you missed it.  Wasn't sure which.  

I also wasn't sure on your SD read.  Like, unless it exactly verbal/voodoo/SD I feel that slot is pretty much always town despite disliking most of their game play.  And I have a really hard time making a voodoo/SD team in my head.  I though the other stuff you shared was ~reasonable and I liked your question to cory.

I have to run to work.  I doubt dice will be back before the end of the day, but I would have liked his thoughts on AJs big post, too.

Hopefully Verbal can get caught up.  I'll be interested to see his take on SD gate once he gets there since that's where his vote currently is.  I'll be around sporadically.

Cory, did the last game you played with voodoo only had one mafia?  I thought i saw that mentioned earlier.

I'd feel a lot better about it if the thing with SD didn't just happen.

On Chris: We probably both feel the same way about him I'm pretty sure, at least based on reading your thoughts on him ITG. He's always got the potential. But he has been a mover in the thread & I like how he's moved the thread so I'm not gonna get in the way without a reason.

 

One thing I do want to be careful of (especially reminded of the VS game) is letting Chris do the legwork on my read of you. I'll try to be more direct.

I don't feel super strongly about my voodoo read, but I thought the stuff with darthe was a pretty good look for him for a newbie.  newbie reads are always hard because they haven't really figured out how to play and their range is ???  and even though his reads list was basically just a bunch of town reads, it felt pretty genuine and outside of the verb and dice reads which felt pretty generous.  i thought his response to Chris ~okay when asked about both reads.  that said, a couple people questioned the list as being coached, which is possible, but I thought his reaction to the accusations about being coached was fine.  and aside from the thing with darthe, he's still been getting a bit of light pressure and being chill but responsive to questions which isn't something i usually see from mafia!newbies when they are getting pressured. 

I agree with you on Chris.  It's basically what you said, he's always got the potential, but I also agree with a lot of what he's said so far so I'm fine letting him do his thing and seeing where it goes.

I think we've only played one game.  It was the game on VS which the first game I ever played offsite and we got absolutely crushed by scum team Chris/Shad/Diva.

Like I said earlier in Chris's category thing, I wasn't particularly interested in yeeting you.  I think you're a good enough wolf to be doing the things you're doing so far based on what Chris has said about your wolf game, but nothing you've done has been particularly pingy.  I think Chris has said you prefer town?  I'm mostly fine with the reads you've given and I understand why maybe we disagree on voodoo given your experience with them, but otherwise I think we have pretty similar reads which is generally a ~good thing.  I think you're probably slightly more towny on Chris than I am, but you have a lot more experience playing with him than I do so i'm ~fine with it.

Did anything strike you as good/bad with the conversation around SD?  have any of your reads changed over the last couple of hours since you did Chris's pick one person to save and one to die?

I'm kind of at a loss.  the people i want more from are not here and haven't been here most of the day.  I still feel like voodoo has been pretty natural and I liked his response to Chris's question.  I'd like a bit more from Leelou who has been here on and off, but i feel like their contributions have been dipping a bit.  I realize Dice didn't have a ton of time before heading to work, so I'm hoping he can provide more content before EoD.  I know people said verbal doesn't play on weekends, so I'm hoping they get a chance to post something tomorrow.  Would also like to see more from hallia and AJ.

I'm absolutely not voting for Sinister today, and I highly, highly encourage everyone take the same stance.  No part of me feels good about this read but unless the team is just straight up completelyAFK!Verb, brandnewb!Voodoo, and Sinister, I don't see how he's ever mafia here.  He'd have to not only have committed to the sickest derpclear of all time, he'd have to have a team that somehow isn't giving him ANYTHING to work with.

 

I'll reevaluate if we're both alive late, but I don't think I've ever seen someone take these kind of lines as scum - inexperienced or not.  And if I'm getting leveled, I promise, I'll make up for it by pretending it's 2015 again.
