Haha, yeah, the size of that seal was surprising but that is one of the changes I was ok with.  It always struck me as a little weird in the books that such unfathomably important things were so small.  I know being “indestructible” was a sort of protection but they struck me as the kind of things that would show up on some Randland Antiques Roadshow after someone found one in their great grandmother’s vase or something.

Of course, having them as big as they are in the snow ties them to a physical location so there may be a little more globetrotting ahead.

Well that was always the thing about the seals. Being small they could be hidden. Being small they could be lost.

While true - bigger means defending it is still on the table - and that its harder to lose. It will be interesting how they will be broken in upcoming episodes.

If the series goes yard, will the sealbreaker be now a cool scene where Logain gateways from one seal to the other smashing them both?

I think Ishamael spread those rumors throughout his not fully trapped time.  In reality Rand could have left the Seal alone or broken it and so he made the wrong choice.

Which would be in line with many of our views in the Books that he screwed up royally at the Eye. Though he was somewhat backed into the corner between bad option A and Bad option B lol.

I kind of assumed Moiraine was just wrong but the story Eye wasn’t really recognizable as the book Eye.

Well she's likely definitely wrong. Since there WAS a seal to the prison there (and if that seal is palm sized I'm terrified which Palm it is meant to fit lmao) it somewhat served the same purpose.

I would LOVE to find that the Horn was found there, then moved to Malkier for safety, then maybe Fal Dara when Malkier fell. At least then we get some fidelity to the original plot.

I also would wager the whole "We don't know its purpose" will come back to be relevant somehow.

How have they changed those concepts in the show? There's a definite distinction made between Saidar and Saidin, and both Rand and Lews Therin channel Saidin with Rand having a tainted version that will drive him mad. I don't see any changes here.

The issue is that the show's discussion of Saidin and Saidar directly only happens in the additional materials - never directly in the show.

So it opens up discussion. And its not an invalid point. I personally believe the supp materials are the "omnipotent" knowledge and the show itself operates on flaws finite knowledge. Much how it can happen in the real world.

Others may argue that if it is not said in the direct show, then it does not count. And I can understand that view too since - well the books themselves are not held up directly in this shows lens so its like saying "pay attention to this stuff but not this other stuff"

So again - until someone from the show directly addresses this - then there will be no meeting of the minds.

@Mirefox its mentioned in the supplemental materials. On the site and in the Origins stuff. Never directly - at least...yet. *shrugs*

  4. Also Rand didn’t run away.

He made a heroic choice based on the knowledge he had.

He thought it was the Last Battle. He beat the DO. And he’s gonna go nuts and kill everyone.

That said Moiraine really shoulda seen the cuendillar earlier. But hey we need a “quick go find the DR” plot hook i suppose lol.

    @Agitel

To be fair “Adaptation” includes both sets. Direct adaptations. And Changed ones.

It is like the Muppet Christmas Carol vs Scrooged.

Both are adaptations. Both have elements. But one is far more true to the source.

    I still enjoy them both.

  5. Honestly I liked it.

It diverged hard from the books so I think this is where some people get off the trolly.

For the rest of us who stay on are going to be in for some interesting stuff.

Yeah Id have loved for the series to hold true to the stories.

But way I see it - I have no idea what will happen now.

To me this is a new story now - one I am walking into blindly like the non readers will.

I have an idea of the forest I am walking into, so at least I have that. But the map is old and hasn’t been updated in years.

Looks great! Is this a sound-reactive effect, or programmed?

I am in love with the intro sequence, looks and music.

its got a module to listen for sound.

    Twinkly lights and twinkly music.

Have a hidden speaker behind the couch it listens for
