  1. People probably needed a break and I wouldn't be surprised if a game pops up again sometime in the next month or two. I'm indefinitely calling this one though, will not be available for most of September and don't see it filling in the next 1-2 weeks at this rate. Feel free to skip over me in the queue and start your own game whenever the bodies are available!
  2. I can't force rand the thinking about its XD
  3. Added you to the list!
  4. I don't have to return to office until September so I can host this any time over the next 2-3 weeks
  5. I think notbob is not pingable in the current forum software because you have to physically type the chinese character you can't copy and paste it lol
  6. @Prowler @Cairos @Talya @Verbal32 @鲍勃不是我的名字 ya'll in?
  7. MU anni starts next week and also our union's telework agreement is getting challenged hard and we're supposed to get an answer by the 30th on whether they're going to pull the entire staff back into the office permanently. Can't run this during Anni and will struggle to run it especially early if I lose telework. So the sweet spot to start would be right after I die in Anni if I die early, or if that goes on too long I might have to wait and see If someone else wants to run something be my guest, otherwise I can follow up in a week.
  8. If there aren't enough people to run at least a condensed version by Monday I'll probably put my game on hold because I'm going to be gone a lot in July. In the meantime if someone has something functional for 8 players you could always ping the active roster and see if they're all still in and go.
  9. Gabe from POG had a low commitment rerunnable mash build where everyone was basically a 50% hit chance dayvig. You need a good 50+ players for the variance on that to neutralize but host could prerand shots to guarantee roughly equal distribution for a small game. The core mechanic was that wolves always miss wolves. So the only risk to bussing is not having the opportunity to shoot at a villager instead, and the trade-off is anyone who successfully kills a wolf is a confirmed villager.
  10. Don't feel obligated to wait on mine to fill if y'all want to kick off a 9p or something instead.
  11. Looks like this definitely isn't going to fill, which comes as no surprise. I was prepared to condense it, but I can't realistically cut it down to five players. I'm going to let it sit a while and if someone wants to run a smaller game instead, be my guest. I know I don't have the time or energy to play back to back games these days, and I imagine that goes for a lot of people. I don't think there's any harm if we only run one or two a month, but I don't want to hold people back if they do want to roll straight away into another game.
  12. We rolled out a master plan open claim in my last wolf rand and it was glorious. Nothing like seeing a plot days in the making come to fruition and go exactly as planned. First of all to understand how this works, every player had a gun with varying hit %. A lot of ours were enhanced due to winning events, but we were outnumbered so we had to be careful. We needed the village to waste most of their shots before we came out, because wolves don't achieve parity wincon until all shots are fired. One of us had a neighborhood they could invite a player to each night, and if they ever died, everyone in the neighborhood would die with them. We seeded misinformation in the thread that this guy was a peeked villager, and eventually it stuck. We had two actual fully mod confirmed villagers in the game. Going into night 5, the neighborhood had one unconfirmed villager already. We buffed our plant's hit % to 100 with the event prizes and invited one of the confirmed villagers into the hood. We claimed cop in the hood and asked the confirmed villager to proxy the information to the thread so the wolves wouldn't know who the real cop was. Since we'd successfully mislead him to believe our boy was a confirmed villager too, he readily agreed. Everything was set. Day 6 kicks off with 16 villagers against 11 wolves. We carefully chose an impulsive villager we knew wasn't paying close attention to mechanics, equipped him with a bulletproof vest at night without his knowledge, and relayed our night results to the neighborhood. That player, we claimed, was a wolf. Step by step, everything went so beautifully. First, the confirmed villager hard claimed cop in the thread and said he had a red check on the other villager. Immediately as planned, that villager took a shot at him. Red checked player shooting at a confirmed villager? Of course the village immediately pumps him full of lead. The first to hit fails to kill him, making him an even more obvious wolf. The village blows through a ton of their ammo hitting him a second time. He dies and flips town. Everyone's going what the hell happened when suddenly our wolf in the hood pulls out his 100% hit chance gun and blasts away the other confirmed villager outside of the hood. Of course, again, the village immediately pumps him full of lead, wasting even more shots. He gets hit as intended and explodes, taking out the two villagers in the hood with him. 4 for 1 trade when they were already behind, and two of those were the only confirmed players in the game. It is now 12 villagers to 10 wolves and most of the villagers have no ammo. The thread just goes dead silent. Wolf chat sounds the alarm. It's go time baby. All 10 of us roll into the thread trolling as confused villagers while wolfing in the open. I have no idea what's going on! This is crazy! We can't trust anyone anymore! This guy's probably a wolf! blasting villagers left and right. We take out another five of them while only losing one wolf in the return fire. Game goes from 27 players alive to a wolf victory in a span of fifteen minutes. 😄
  13. what's the trick to making youtube videos embed?
  14. Now this is quality AI at work
  15. I'd be down for it in my game if he wants
  16. I went on a 29 game town streak through 2021 and 2022
  17. @HeavyHalfMoonBlade Stepping away from something when it's not working out for you is a smart call. I've definitely seen a lot of people continue to play well past the point of still enjoying it. Do what works for you. 👍 That being said, if you enjoy the community aspect of it, you don't have to give that up too if you don't want to. A lot of retired players still spectate games, and while this forum doesn't have a great option for spectating, we used to always have spectator threads on Quicktopic before it shut down. That can easily be revived through another platform. I know people who quit playing but still enjoy hosting. Just saying there are definitely options to engage in the social side without the stress of a live game. There are also very different manifestations of Werewolf out there. Personally, this style of game doesn't work too well for me either. Different reasons, and I've had nothing but fun in the two games I've played since DM started running them again, but games of this size and length definitely cause me more stress than fun if I play too many of them. In fact, checking my notes now, I've played exactly one game in this style outside of Dragonmount in the past four years. There are turbos--games where days only last 15 minutes and, for me at least, it's over too soon for me to start feeling uncomfortable. I've never dabbled in video mafia, but there are many communities that specialize in that. My personal favorite style is mashes, massive 50+ player games that rarely last more than five real life days. Being forced to accept limited information by the shear impossibility of reading every post canceled out my obsession with overanalyzing everything as town, while having a dozen team mates canceled out the feeling of isolation that came with being the minority faction as wolf. For a lot of people, mashes are the absolute worst form of the game. It all depends on what works for you. My point is just that if you really enjoy some aspects of this game but hate others, there are probably a lot of other people who feel the same way, and game styles have developed that best suit what those people are looking for. I'm not trying to make you reconsider--sometimes checking out entirely is the best option--just want to let you know how vast of a world Werewolf is and that there are other things out there.
  18. I think you contributed way above and beyond the minimum requirements mate. Didn't even cross my mind that you were like, insufficiently active or anything. Timezones gonna happen. No one's expected to post 100 times in a game around here. I think you were fine.
  19. Welcome to summer! Sea and sand! Sunny skies! Lemonade and beach balls and ugh....... I hate summer. I like cold weather. June through August are not my jam. You know what's summery but also cold? The ocean. The ocean's a really cold, dead place. So we're going there. This is a game of Werewolf themed on the ocean. Enjoy? This is a closed setup designed for ~16 players with some unconventional roles. It is modestly bastard, but there is no cult. Is it remotely balanced? Your guess is as good as mine. Does it have a lot of really stupid flavor that will keep you entertained? I tried my best. Lynches will be hybrid hammer. That means if at any point a player has the majority of the votes, they will be lynched and day will end, otherwise the player with the most votes at end of day will be lynched. In the event of a tie, one of the tied players will die. Votes will be locked at lylo. Days should always end at 4pm EDT and never end on a Saturday, roughly 48 hours with some extra time on D1 and potentially weekends. Nights will be flexible but shouldn't be longer than 24 hours unless, well, Saturdays. In keeping with DM tradition, you can post at night, however claiming in the thread at night is not allowed. Don't do it. Don't fake it. Bad will happen. Thanks DPR this was a great rule and I am blatantly stealing it. Dead players will under no circumstances be used as substitutes. I would sooner mod kill if I had to and I'm pretty confident I can find replacements in a pinch. Aim to keep the spam light and the drama non-existent. Be respectful of each other's time and Dragonmount's physical limitations. Standard rules apply. No discussion of the game outside of the thread unless your role explicitly allows it. No quoting your role PM. No editing. Claim whatever you want. Wolves have safe claims. Should your role permit out of thread communication with a confirmed ally (e.g. pack wolves, masons), you can use this freely. I do not need to be included in all sanctioned communication, though you're welcome to invite me. Any other out of thread communication, should it exist, must include the host. Discord is strongly encouraged and I will facilitate setting up channels as needed on request. Wolves win when they have achieved parity or nothing can prevent this. Town win when all threats are eliminated. Roster: 1. Darthe 2. ed2funy 3. peacesells 4. DPR 5. Tigraine 6. Ithillian Turambar 7. Turin Turambar 8. berf 9. Prowler 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. Spec: SinisterDeath Verbal32 Leelou HeavyHalfMoonBlade I will attempt to scale it down if we can't fill.
  20. Incoming as soon as I write a sign-up post!
  21. That actually made the game more fun I think. Not something I would want on a remotely regular basis or in a remotely normal game but Given the abundance of mechanical information at our fingertips, it was kind of cool to never have absolute certainty.
  22. This happened to me the first time I played in a champs game on MU too lol My wolf game dodges votes pretty effectively but is a total cop magnet.
  23. hmm... I guess I'm up next. The game I put together is 16p, but I don't know if that's a realistic goal. I'm used to playing much larger builds so in my head 16p is a small game, but that might not check out with reality. Guess I can post sign-ups now and scale it down as needed.
  24. WOOHOO Great game everyone. What a ride. Always in for an adventure when Wes is hosting.
