    Vote Count

    SK (2) - Dice, Clov

    Marsh (1) - Sooh

Ben (3) - Cory, Nolder, LZM

    Cory (2) - Ley, Ben

    DJ (1) - SK

Gonna call SK train great, trains on me and Cory are stale, train on Ben feels like a well-intentioned mislynch, vote on DJ scummy via confirmation bias cause I think SK is scum. I'm caught up finally, so [v]SK[/v]

Even disregarding my concerns about SK, I would be opposed to a vote on DJ.  She hasn't contributed much in terms of substance, but she's been around enough and participating in discussions.  I thought she's felt pretty genuine pretty much throughout the entire day.

It'd be nice to have some reads to look at, but she's new and at least seems to be making the effort.

  2. Before I start going a bit more in depth, my more "baselines" reads from what I remember so far:

    BFG

    Nolder

    LedZep

    Niniel

    DarJen

    Leyrann

    Clov

    Sooh

    Dice

    SK

    Iron

    Ben

not super useful, but a starting point

If you flip LedZep and Sooh, and replace my name with yours, this would be scary close to my list.

I still don't know what to think about Leyrann. I think the thing I've noticed the most is he seems to show up randomly and comment on things I just find really odd.  His post this morning in response to Ben's statement about being town to Nolder would be an example of this.  Everything Ley said in the post is 'correct', and he might have been replying to Ben since Ben's post was the newest, but Leyrann replied to it an hour later and it just seemed really strange to me he would response exclusively to that.

  3. I won´t go back and check any old games. But you say that Sooh as mafia treated you a certain way in another game when you were town and now she treats Clov the same? What kind of attitude are you talking about?

    And what does ~ mean?

You're asking me to describe feelings and I'm British so will barely admit I have them

I think I mean buddyish(?) but it is more a feeling than a thought process I can explain. In that game I posted some gifs or something and Sooh was enthusiastic about liking them. It tied into some WIM filled posts which I decided were more important at the time, so ignored the posts about the gifs. And even knowing alignments now, I suspect those posts weren't really AI, so I don't want to read to much into it. This game she's very enthusiastic about Chris (which although obviously entirely understandable because Chris ) but I don't have a strong town read on him, and although I know other people trust him more easily, I'm used to people that have played with him a lot (or at all) to be suspicious for longer, especially if they had a guilty check on him (no matter how unreliable it may be)

~ I use semi mathematically, I'd be 'approximately'/somewhat surprised but I don't feel it's strong enough to just say surprised. In this case I think it would be unusual interaction between teammates, but the traitor throws everything off

For future reference I use (?) (lolwords) and similar if I'm trying to describe a feeling that I don't currently understand, but see above about British and feelings :p

Niniel - To piggyback off this a bit, from an outside POV (I was the moderator that game), I thought Sooh was maybe a bit overly friendly/fun in that game.  That's not to say Sooh isn't fun or friendly, because she is, but the way she came across felt very fake.  I'll concede that was probably at least somewhat influenced by the fact I knew her alignment

As it relates to this game, I can at least understand where BFG is coming from.  I don't know if it's because her "support" (for lack of a better word for me) for me this game seems to stem from agreement/similar stances, rather than just liking me, but Sooh's posts didn't come across as scummy to me but I think it's an incredibly good look for BFG to point out.

Clov ur a greedy soab you know that

Yeah, but am I the most smug person you know?

I was facing IR this week. I have Mariota & DeMarco Murray. He has Delanie Walker.

The Titans had the ball at their own 1.

I thought "well, Derrick Henry might poach the TD from DeMarco, but at least I'll get points from Mariota if he throws a TD to Delanie".

The Titans ran a sweep play handing off to the TE. It was Delanie Walker's first ever rush attempt in the NFL. 1 yard TD.

    Thanks IR.

This is the most IR story I think I've ever heard.

If you try to argue that you contribute no thoughts and blow off multiple people questioning you throughout the first day and a half, I'm going to laugh at you.  Yes, you ramp up close to EOD - that's why I don't think it's alignment indicative that you haven't been here.  But even beyond not giving many reads, you have been far more absent from the thread so far than you usually are.

    Tell me I'm wrong.

I just imagine it's not something you'd find particularly relevant. I also don't think you'd have the level of care to actually express disappointment. Even if I'm lethargic, your villager game has plenty of lethargy as well. Doesn't feel like something you'd really think. Hard to vocalize it beyond "I feel its something you'd be more like to say as a wolf because it 'sounds better'

Just my gut response to it, I could be wrong, iunno

Not disappointment in the condescending dinosaur hat sense.  Disappointment as in "I have an expectation of what his contribution would be based on how he plays, and he is not yet at that level."

This has been a huge topic of discussion in other games, but I refrain from the concept of meta arguments as being generally valid. They give you a feel for the player a sort of baseline. Someone asked earlier if "this is how sk normally plays'. It requires the supposition that the person making the claim toward me is believeable, trustworthy, and does not have an ulterior motive, but why lie about how you perceive someone play or how they have played in past games you might ask. Therein lies the problem. You do not have to lie about your perception of someone play you simply have to adjust your feelings toward their play and your feelings may describe the play in a less than objective manner or in a more nefarious manner. Which leads me to: Is clov the cory whisperer? If clov has a 100% winrate against cory!scum then I would find it maybe plausible, because I do not know if clov is scum here. (yes I am that paranoid). I do not like this dance clov is doing with cory. I did egg on clov to vote me earlier I was expecting some nonsensical reason with a hint of irony or something paired with the vote it is almost as bad as bens reason to vote me.  Ben distracted me however. I am not surprised he voted me. Scum tend to lash out while trying to remain calm and collected going for the perceived easiest path of no resistance. If he voted me initally when I claimed scum I might have town read him for it like dice. He just claimed confusion like lzm has been confused and in a frozen stasis of do nothing. birds of a feather methinks. Their are two types of way to scum hunt. Inductive and deductive. A gut feeling is merely a way to say I have played this game 100 or so times in 10 of them I have seen players do x as scum therefore there is a 10 percent chance that player x is scum. So what is clov saying in his exchange with cory? and is corys confusion warranted? So far Clov has said no particular thing of value in any which way. He pushes that cory is a complete and total disgusting dissapointment then cory says nuh uh then clov says yuh huh but it's not alignment indicative. and I'm like whuuuuuuuuuuuut. I digress.

    TL;DR?

  6. It is interesting to watch those of you who have played a lot, especially with each other. You have insight into usual behavior, be it for a typical approach to either town or scum. I look forward to when I am able to do just that.

At the moment I am happy that I am at least more comfortable with the idea of looking for scum. I try to do decide who acts most like scum and who at least seems more like town. I know people lie. But at least I can work on improving with this.

It can be useful, but it can also be exploited or cause people to make conclusions they shouldn't.  Being a "fresh" player keeps you honest with yourself, I think.

Do you have any impressions so far?

  7. Cory what is your avatar? It looks like a sad little girl in a crack house.

    brand-new-devil-god-are-raging-inside-me

this is the album art for brand new's masterwork "the devil and god are raging inside me"

now watch rick and morty u plebian

I'd give Nolder partial credit for the answer.  It's not correct, but it's not entirely wrong.

Now, what's interesting about the answers is...are they lying? Would either of them dare to lie? If they are on opposite teams that might be a risk but if they tell the truth they are sort of locked into reading each other a certain way for the rest of the game. Of course that's all irrelevant if they are both mafia but what are the odds of that.

Unless we were mafia together, there is 0% chance either one of us would lie - both of us would bust the other's balls about it, and it's not like we're new players.  BFG, Sooh, and Dice have played with us both a ton, and several others are fairly familiar with us.  I can't even fathom we'd lie if we were m/m, just because it's such an easy thing to disprove for minimal benefit.

    * same thoughts as me

    Talk to me about Leyrann?

You are one of those I´m most suspicious of but you don´t comment on that, but ask me about my read on Ley. That is weird. But okay.

My main reason for reading him town is his vote on Cory. It´s how he is typically playing. Finding stuff that doesn´t make sense to him and vote people because of it. (At least that is how I think it is.) It´s not a top town read and he has fooled me before but right now it´s enough for a town read.

    Ahhhhh! All caught up.

    See ya later!

Now THIS is what I find scummy.

Constantly hanging behind, catching up, immediately leaving so that nobody can interact in real time.

This is basically how I play all the time. lol I really don´t interacting in real time because then I don´t get the overview of things. I guess it´s like I don´t have any sense of direction in a place where I haven´t been before. I need to look at a map and watch it from above.

I have no read on Leyrann whatsoever, and it seems like most people haven't really discussed him.  You had no problem calling him townie, so obviously you had seen something most everybody else hadn't.  I don't need to ask what stemmed your read on me  - you already explained it, and beyond that, I'm not really concerned about it....I know my alignment.

  9.

That vote was made under the impression that "breaking the game" meant trying to, well, destroy it, which was incorrect, and he since unvoted.

In other words (sorry, but I was managing 3 things at once), he had an incorrect impression of what was happening. And with the impression he had, that vote is logical.

Don't care, his stated reason for his vote isn't why I have a problem with it.

    Eh?

His reason for the vote isn't why you have a problem with it? What does that even mean?

You have a problem with a vote for another reason than somebody's reason for it? Only other way I see one could have a problem with a vote which is unrelated to the person giving it is if that vote is on a scum mate.

Let me put it this way. He says his reason for voting is X, I think his reason is Y.

I could be wrong but my point is that I am disregarding X as the real reason for his action.

    Hope that makes more sense.

Only if you tell me Y.

I feel he's already explained it pretty well   Unless I'm missing something.

  11.

Chris what's your read on me?

I had you just behind Niniel in my town pile earlier. That hasn't changed, and I'm probably feeling ~better about you based on your approach to me.

Then why do I feel you're trying to disrupt me (lolwords) instead of work with me?

I don't know.  Either because you're taking posts in a way other than intended, or because you're expecting me to play in a way that I keep telling you I don't.

Hell, I don't even know what you're referring to.

  12. clov's read on me sounds more like wolf!clov than town!clov

not specifically the read. but the rationale seems "clean". like im not sure town!clov would express "disappointment". its causing me problems

like its just hard for me to comprehend why clov would be "disappointed" in my content level, considering the whole 'ramp-up close to EOD' is basically the bread and butter of my villager game anyway

him expressing disappointment in that fashion just makes me feel like he's a wolf trying to "make a villagery, thread-based read" rather than what he'd actually think as a villager

    [v] Cory[/v]

Ok this is too desperate even for me.

    [v]Ben[/v]

Heh.  His push on Cory is why I unvoted him.  The other reads he gave in his explanation post seemed reasonable enough to me, and his justification of Cory seemed honest enough that I don't think he's the best lynch at this point.  I'm not sure I would lynch Cory right now, but I don't see any issue with HIM pushing Cory.

I just see it as an attempt to cast attention anywhere but himself.

Yeah, I got that.  It took me a second to get there after your response to Leyrann, but I figured it out.

  14. I don't have a read on Chris or Cory yet

Frustratingly I can read the same post from Chris twice and decide it's villagery one time and scummy another

    I have a read on Cory.  It's

    Cory, don't read this -

A little disappointed with his overall contribution, but I'm perfectly willing to give him time to get involved and guess it's NAI.  I also have no doubt he'll get more involved as the game goes on.

Bold - Sure, but what are your thoughts on this game? :spoiler:
