I get Siuan and Moiraine throwing the same words at each other - and thought it was appropriate and fun for Moiraine to throw them back at Siuan.
But I thought they were the exact words Rand used with the captured Aes Sedai - eliciting a grin from Taim.
Skipp says 'no'. Anyone else have thoughts?
Why would they make a reference to an event that hasn’t happened yet? -

@JenniferL - my thread "On your knees!" was locked but referred to another thread. Is this it?
My thread was more about the phrase uttered than the relationship between Siuan and Moiraine. I guess some people had a problem with the phrase being used in the bedroom. My question was it's relation to Rand at Dumai's Wells.
So is this the right place to ask that question or not?
Thank you.
Your question got answered, so I don’t know why you’d ask it again. But I was definitely inspired by you to create a thread with a broader purpose. -
Yeah, I’m wondering that as well. At this point, Thom and Moiraine haven’t even met and I don’t think they spend much time together outside of the first book when they are traveling to Baerlon. So they might drop that one altogether. But there’s still potential for Siuan and Gareth. I have no issues with Siuan and/ or Moiraine being bi or pan.

Three mods are in this thread, pretty much begging y’all to stop being jerks and cleaning up the trash. I’m putting this thread in time out for an hour or two so everyone can go get some perspective. Go read a book or something.

She wears something with a little bosom to it. But there’s no emphasis on her chest or any other part of her body. We saw a partly naked bath attendant, but she was shown in a non sexual context.

Yeah, there’s an overall lack of male gaze in this show that I appreciate. And the sexy times are handled in much the same way Jordan did. Two people start canoodling and the lights go out. Later, they wake up in the sex igloo/ sex hut and chat and that’s it. I don’t mind more explicit sex scenes, but it seems like so many shows try to one up each other in graphic nudity that it’s honestly boring now.

Let’s make a thread for this.
Personally, I like that they are still a couple in 998 NE. You can see the beginnings of them drifting apart from a physical/ romantic relationship in New Spring, but I think it makes more sense that they still have this intense relationship with each other since they cannot confide in anyone else about the Dragon.

Question has been answered. If y’all want to discuss this further, there’s a thread.

Also Brandon Sanderson not even naming Cadsuane in this video but saying "You're not my Mom!" had me roaring laughing hahaha
Same! I think we all had a similar reaction to Cadsuane.
Also, Brandon and Dan chatted a bit about how LoTR fans responded to the changes Peter Jackson made. I wasn’t connected to that fandom twenty years ago, so I don’t personally recall the arguments. But I have encountered them at DragonCon and….whooo they can be intense.

I just finished listening to it. Some random thoughts.
Brandon is allowed to say whether or not he likes the adaptation. And he does!
Brandon considers this to be more of a “inspired by” than a direct adaptation and goes into detail about his “another turning of the Wheel” headcanon.
There’s a good bit of discussion about the challenges of adapting something this big and intricate to another medium and some of that is specific to this story.- notpropaganda73, Vambram, ArrylT and 5 others

Yeah, the United States is kind of weird in how racially segregated we are. It’s an echo of the enforced legal segregation a few generations ago. But it would be really silly to think that’s how the rest of the world “naturally” works. If a place is racially homogenous there’s usually a reason for that.
But let’s move off from the race of cast members because that conversation never goes anywhere fun.

I have read all of this thread and I have no idea what we are supposed to be discussing here. Is the show canon? Of course not. Rafe Judkins did not come into my house and write over the pages of my books. I have not spoken to Harriet recently, but every time I have talked to her about the show she seemed very enthusiastic about it. She’s very firmly retired now, so I do not expect her to make any public statements either way.
If it makes you feel better to think of this as some sort of fanfic, that’s cool I guess. You don’t have to watch it or even think about it if you don’t like it.

Yeah, I’m treating season three as rumor, not fact right now. But I would not be surprised if they do green light it soon.

I’m not exactly sure what you think this thread will accomplish. It is not the job of this forum to convince you to like the show. If you aren’t enjoying it, stop watching. If the discussions here don’t bring you joy, stop coming. You don’t have to spend your energy on things you don’t like.

Yes, that’s the joke.

We have a thread for casting speculation somewhere. This needs to go there.

Alright, let’s try this again. Please recall that bickering is super annoying for the rest of us to watch.
