  1. Congrats, Cross! Ummm . . . I think I forgot to turn in my key to the secret kaf cabinet. I'll stop by your office momentarily to pass it along (and show you where it is). It may need restocking; I didn't have time to hit the shops in Tar Valon before I packed up the office. Whatever you do, make sure it's well stocked in case Elgee's stash rush out! ?
  2. Thanks, all. *Ruefully smooths shredded stockings* I've been in Canada for the past week on a secret mission for the Amyrlin so I haven't had much time to get online (not to mention wifi access). Elgee, I'm sorry to say that without my chickens we haven't a hope of successfully invading Canadialand and my chickens were all victims of predators after Hurricane Michael. Needless to say, it will take some time to rebuild our forces. I'll reconnoiter using the Blues' Eyes and Ears network and let you know if the situation changes. ? I will be Traveling back to the States tomorrow but not sure if I'll be able to get online during my layover. P.S. What is this RELAX you speak of, Elgee? Is that like a VACAYSHUN? ?
  3. Life changes. While some changes are good, some are bad. Some are neither good or bad. Yet the culmination of those changes sometimes drive changes that are unwelcome. This, for me, is one of those unwelcome changes. Pretty cryptic, right? Well, as you all know I've been mostly absent for the past few years. First for my graduate program, then my dad's illness, then Hurricane Michael. I completed my graduate program in December 2017, my dad is doing better than we had originally expected (though a cure is not in the cards), and one year later we are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Michael with so much more work that needs to be done (90% of which is outside, to repair/replace horse fencing, rebuild a barn, etc.). Plus work has gotten extremely hectic/stressful and by the time I get home from working on the computer all day, I am hard pressed to get on the computer at home, even for something as enjoyable as DragonMount. The crux of the matter is this. The Amyrlin and the White Tower need a Keeper that is active, who can assist Elgee in the administration of the Tower. I cannot do that right now. Therefore, as much as it pains me to do so, I am tendering my resignation as the Keeper of the Chronicles in the White Tower & Warders. I am not quitting DM. I still plan to drop in when I can and, hopefully, things will ease up for me in the future and I can become as active as I used to be. You all have been like family to me and I miss you. You know, I cannot for the life of me figure out how I had more time for DM when my kids were small than I do now when they are grown and one has already flown the nest. Weird how that happens. And now, I sign off for the last time from the position I was so excited to fill, as Daruya Sedai, Keeper of the Chronicles, Raised from the Blue Ajah. It has been an honor and a privilege serving the White Tower. Sincerely, Daruya Sedai of the Blue Ajah
  4. Daruya - Blue Ajah and Keeper And I've even managed to check in a couple times this week . . .
  5. Daruya - Blue Ajah and mostly absent Keeper Favorite childhood past-time: reading Horse books, Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden. Also, building forts, playing war or cowboys and Indians (back when you didn't get in trouble for pointing at people and saying "pow-pow-pow!"). What can I say . . . I was a tomboy! Oh, and let's not forget exploring caves in Germany when we were camping! And sledding during the winter! Sometimes I miss childhood . . .
  6. And Ta'veren Tees is shutting down . . . I just went to the website to try to get a Blue Ajah t-shirt but the only size they have left in blue is 2X. *sob* Looks like blue and green are the most popular; the only green left is size small. Red is still available in all sizes, as is yellow, grey, white, and black. Brown has a few sizes left but not all. And they're listed at $15 each, which is a good price. *sigh*
  7. Looks like I can still post but I don't have much time to get online. When driving we often lose signal and sometimes the modem here at C's house is spotty (and slow!). Went to Glacier National Park today. Much of the park was closed due to winter road conditions but we had a good time, spent some quality time together, and got some good pictures.
  8. Hey, I can post! Unfortunately, it's very late and I've been in the car all day. We drove a friend of our hostess back to his home in Idaho (4 hours each way). His truck broke down and our friend, C, was not up to making that trip due to her health issues. But we did stop briefly and had a quick snowball fight with the boys!
  9. They are Florida born and raised! Last time we had snow here was in 1989. My oldest has seen snow by now. I'm hoping there will still be some left when my youngest and I get there next Friday!
  10. Hubby and oldest are flying to Montana on Tuesday; youngest and I will follow on March 15 for a week. The friend we are going to visit says she has 4 ft of snow in her driveway . . . ? Should be interesting . . . my boys have never seen snow!
  11. *calls for a cleaning crew to prep the Dungeon* ?
