I totally agree that fear of being wrong is the biggest hindrance for new/wannabe players. It's a difficult thing to get over. Especially when the rest of us seem so comfortable with the game and with each other.

@Illian Tear - the best advice I can give you is to speak up more. Interact with folks. Ask questions, respond to what's going on, think about why people are saying what they are saying. Are they looking at it objectively? Or twisting things?. Even if you make mistakes, that's how you get better :). You can't just leave it up to others gotta throw your two cents in too.

Yeah, when I was posting it I was thinking random.org would be better as well.  Gifting could end up similar to the games where you have a separate QT or can talk to others in PM outside the game thread and therefore.  I played one or two of those years ago when Cory/Tom/Chris first joined.

I think it would be possible for the same person to get a role several times if random.org decides that.  It's....random.

I still don't know about IT as scum because all the derps (no offense) really look like n00b townie to me. 

I will be out for a lot of the day today with family stuff. I should be able to drop back before dinner. 

I agree that there's probably only 2 scum. It would be rare, though I suppose not unheard of, to have 3 in a 10 player game.
