is it just me, or is there an error here...? when rand linked with nynaeve, she initiated the link, not rand... but this chapter says that when its a 1:1, the man has to initiate the link...? imo, this is against everything thats said about linking in the rest of the books... men cant link, only women can...

nynaeve initiated the link and rand took control.

to the best of my knowledge,a male channeler can not initiate the link only

a female channeler.

by the way,its not the only error in chapter 2.

I actually believe that in the sidebook about the wheel, it claimed that only a man could initiate a two person link between a man and a woman, so I think that the link at the cleansing may have actually been the one in error.

i checked the world of robert jordan again,and it clearly states(page 23)

that women can initiate a link,men cannot,a little later(page 25) it says

that when a circle contain just two channelers,a man and a woman,the

man is always the leader,exactly what rand and nynaeve did in the cleansing,

she initiated the link and he took control.

androl shouldnt have had to "complete" anything... only women can initiate... they would reach through the man just like with a woman, only, they wouldnt be able to channel atall, they would have to pass control to the man...

@Tedroni Peter Ahlstrom has said that this is the last of the pre-release material, and is quite firm on it, so unless something drastically changes, which I doubt, that's a no on chapter 3.

you would think that by now Mr. Sanderson or Tor.. or Mrs. Mc Dougal would utilize the hardcore fans to ferret out these glaring errors... I mean... it's only a beloved authors last words to his fans... no reason to be careful there is there? It's just plain careless... and I'm sorry but after obviously riding over "Robert Jordan's" last wish of making the last book a single tome... you would think that they would at least get the details right in the final.... Final Book... or maybe Brian Sanderson is trying to speak to the fans in the only way that his contract with TOR will allow... perhaps they are leaving us with one last conspiracy theory to muddle over in the absents of anything more to come...

yes, but this is the transition point between the ages, clearly things will change... the last turning grew the longing, and whatnot... perhaps, if this isnt an error, this turning grew to that the ability to link was swapped man <--> woman... which would mean that damane would be able to be leashed... the a'dam is a forced link, and if the swich is done intentionally by rj/brandon, then it stands to reason that the a'dam wouldnt work anymore...

Let me get this straight you have Maria Simmons and a second "continuity editor" in addition to Hariet McDougal, You have no less then two full blown active websites dedicated solely to not just to the publishing house, not just to the author... but to the series itself... and this is where you are at... I think at this point somebody has to come out and say "I'm sorry we were all too busy counting the money you guys were about to spend instead of actually taking time to write this with the care and dedication it deserved." Hello Everyone; I started reading the Wheel of Time in 1993; my children packed the first few books in my suitcase when I left on Holidays and insisted on me reading Mr. Jordan's books. I got hooked.. I also got one of my co-workers hooked in the marvelous world we all love. I have done multiple re-reads. Maybe twice a year since then. I have had the same problems than most of you with the later two books , and now with the last book's released chapters. My daughter could not even finish T.G.S.!!!

If I would be Brandon Sanderson. I would have enroll Jason , Luckers, Terez and Leigh to prevent the very silly and annoying mistakes he has inflicted on us. I am a fan. I am happy I will know the end of the story. By the way, I read some of Mr. Sanderson.s books, and I did not like them.I also concur with everything Fish has posted.

Dragons..) the white and black tower and the Aiel without absolute control over the Damani... plus the voyage through the pillars describes a war of attrition fueled by the ability to turn chanellers against their former allies...It is simply not plausible from what we know...

i know... i doubt that theory is true too, i was just trying to give brandon the benefit of a doubt...

we know that the seanchan eventually switch from damane, to guns, but we dont know why... it could be attrition of channelers, or a ter'angreal failure, or linking ability switching, or some other reason... we just dont know.

Seasons greetings to everyone! First off I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of chapter two of AMOL and it definitely did not disappoint me! However, cocerning the art topic "screw you all" I love TWOT...Everybody knows that the person who made that topic is not getting reimbursed finanacially, then they are the one who are getting ripped off and NOT us the customers!! Whatever the case the artist has a passion for TWOT series!!

Since AMOL is supposed to be the last book in the series it is bound to stir up a lot of passions for everyone who loves this series!! However I do not want to try to predict events for AMOL because then I would set MYSELF up to be disappointed and I do not want that!!

About the book rewiew of AMOL, I know that Jason who runs dragonmount website normally puts out a book a book review-I have read Winters Heart etc. and then does a positive book review without REVEALING all the plot threads and I enjoy those book reviews immensely! I guess Jason figures that the topic Dear Robert Jordan or whatever it is called is a glowing tribute to RJ and BS!! Whatever the case I can live with it!! Besides it is the book AMOL I look forward to reading whenever it comes out!
